About Terry-Ann Cramp

I've been visiting La Manga Club for nearly twenty years. It took me all of a day to fall in love with the place and I've been going back nearly every year ever since - often more than once.

I finally decided to take the plunge and bought my own place in January of 2008. It's a kooky one bed and I've tried to make it a home from home and added all sorts of little touches and all the mod cons.

There is nothing better than sitting on the back terrace with a glass of vino (or three) and looking at the wonderful stars and listening to the stillness.

When I'm feeling lively I manage a bit of tennis and golf too!

I hope you love La Manga as much as I do!

Terry-Ann Cramp purchased this villa in 2008

Why Terry-Ann Cramp chose Cartagena

Please contact me to discuss special offers for long lets during the winter / spring months!

How to get there - flights go from Luton, Stanstead, and Gatwick (RyanAir, EasyJet, Monarch etc). If you aren't going in the really high season you can get some pretty good deals. There is an easy 20 minutes drive from Murcia airport and an easy hour and a bit from Alicante. The roads are excellent and car hire is reasonable.

Although it's good to have a car (there are some fabulous beaches in the vicinity) you can book a taxi via La Manga Rent a Car. You can also pick up a car from La Manga Rent a Car at the Club and return it the airport but I would recommend booking in advance

An easy, restful and relaxing place for two in the Spanish sunshine!

  • 5 of 5

Casa Erika is well equipped, stylish and modern, set in lush gardens in the heart of La Manga club. Terry-Ann has thought of everything you could possibly need to make this a home from home, including the all important cafetière for fresh coffee every morning, apartment wifi and Internet TV so we were able to watch BBC coverage of the Olympic Games!

We had a super stay here - by day, lazing around the pool, just a short stroll away, where the pool bar and restaurant was a very handy place for a delicious tapas lunch and a glass of sangria. If you don't fancy the splash of the pool, there are very comfortable sun loungers at the villa both on the garden patio and on the roof terrace - perfect for enjoying a G&T later in the day as the sun is setting.

A cluster of restaurants and a well stocked supermarket are 10 minute walk away - we especially liked the food at Abela Teresa, where they present guests with little extras to taste between courses and the wait staff are authentic Spanish and very pleasant. It's also just outside the main bustle of the square and what seems to be a nightly English pub singer/entertainer, fine if you like that sort of thing.

If you fancy any of the other eateries Dharma Indian restaurant is worth a visit and at the very opposite end of the huge complex so one of the on-site taxis is advised - they'll take you anywhere in the complex for €5.

All in all, a perfect little place to chill out. Wish I was there now....

Very attractive villa in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks in early June. The villa is located in one of the most attractive areas of La Manga within walking distance of the tennis centre and adjoining restaurants. The swimming pool is very close by which has a bar/restaurant next to it serving excellent food. The villa was very clean and contained everything that we needed to quickly settle in to a very relaxing holiday. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked to return next year!

A fabulous week in La Manga

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at a number of European villas and British Holiday lets over the years and I would say that this one stands out as one of the best. It was beautifully clean on arrival and the facilities were superb throughout. Shame we only stayed a week!!

We have no hesitation in recommending it.

Relaxing location, lovely pool, good for walking.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a very relaxing 2 weeks in Villa Erika. The villa is beautifully furnished and equipped - a roof terrace for evening drinks in the sun; the patio doors open onto the secluded patio for sunbathing, and from there just a few steps across the garden area to the large heated pool with plenty of sunloungers. . The gardens are a special feature, with many established trees, shrubs and plants.

Good food and drink served all day at the Pool Bar overlooking the pool, with flamenco on Fridays.

There are a number of good restaurants, bars and cafés nearby, in walking distance or a short car or taxi ride away. A car is useful to visit interesting sights, e.g. Cartagena, beaches, etc. which we had done previously - but if you plan to make just short journeys around the complex a reasonably priced taxi is adequate. There is tennis and golf nearby.

Our visit to the Villa brought back lots of happy memories of previous visits, and is an ideal place to create new memories of this attractive area in the sun.

Sports discounts. You can benefit from a guest discount on rounds of golf and tennis court hire. If you are a tennis enthusiast, La Manga Club could easily be defined as the ultimate tennis resort in Spain. Located at the very heart of La Manga Club resort, the internationally renowned Tennis Centre is one of Europe's finest outdoor facilities and is the focal point for many of the resort's sporting activities. The wonderful climate and floodlit courts mean that you can enjoy a match all year round, day or night. La Manga Club Tennis Centre has played host on a number of occasions to such prestigious events as the Davis Cup and the Fed Cup, as well as numerous ATP tournaments. There are 28 tennis courts to choose from, including 20 clay courts, four hard courts and four AstroTurf courts, as well as two paddle tennis courts.

La Manga Club has it's own beach – La Cala – with a fantastic fish restaurant although there are several other beaches in the area. Ten minutes away is Calblanque beach which is accessed via a fairly rough road sign-posted to the right off the road to Cabo de Palos. The appeal of Calblanque comes very much from its wild character.

Nearest Airports: Murcia (San Javier) Airport (MJV) - 25km/14 miles, approximately 20 minutes by car. Alicante (El Altet) Airport (ALC) - 120km/75 miles, approximately 1 hour by car.

Although its good to have a car (there are some fabulous beaches in the vicinity) you can book a taxi to collect you very easily. During the summer you can use the hotel bus which runs around the resort and will take you to the golf and tennis centre, the hotel and many of the local restaurants

Distance from Major Cities: Cartagena - 25km/16 miles, Murcia - 75km/47 miles, Alicante - 120km/75 miles, Granada - 340km/211 miles, Madrid - 470km/292 miles, Malaga - 470km/292 miles, Barcelona - 700km/435 miles.

Further Details:

There is a bank on the club plus cashpoint facilities. There is a small supermarket in Bellaluz Square (walking distance from the villa) and a large one just off the main road in the club. If you leave the club and head towards Cabo de Palos you will see a sign for the supermarket 'Euro' – this is just off the motorway and sells a big variety of food, clothes etc.

La Manga Club manages over 20 restaurants and bars both within the hotel and around the resort. There are also many privately owned restaurants and several bars offering a wide variety of dining experiences: Mediterranean, Indian, South-East Asian, Mexican and Italian speciality restaurants, a beachfront seafood restaurant (seasonal), an American diner, tapas bar, traditional pubs, Deli-Café and poolside snack bars (seasonal). For sports fans there are two club house bars on the golf courses as well as on course refreshment services and a welcoming snack bar at the Tennis Centre. The Piano Bar at the hotel offers nightly live entertainment. Children are made very welcome at the 30+ restaurants and bars within the resort, and of course in Spain generally. For those wanting to go a little further afield there are plenty of good restaurants within a short drive of the resort.

La Manga Club is a wonderful resort with plenty of facilities for both the very active and those that enjoy a more relaxing holiday reading a book and lying around the pool.

For younger members of the family you can book places on the golf, football, rugby, dance and tennis training academy during school holidays. La Manga Club also has a Mini Fiesta club which delivers activities and childcare for the under 12s (charges apply).

Car hire is useful but not essential for your stay at La Manga Club - there is a supermarket, bar and a number of restaurants within a 2 minute walk. Ask for info on airport transfers or car hire with a local La Manga Club based company from either Murica or Alicante airports.
