3 stars approved from the French Tourist Board. The house is set back from the lane by a long driveway. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, which can be changed to bedrooms with two single beds, and a bathroom. On the ground floor there is the living/dining area with a kitchen corner equipped with a 5 flame hob, microwave, etc. There is also another WC. The guest garden with fruit trees has hedges all round and the entrance is secured with a gate. The art gallery and atelier of 70 sqm is situated towards the rear of the property. Behind the house is a enclosed meadow/paddock of 4 acres

Lovely holiday in the French countryside

We had a lovely holiday here with our five year old daughter. It is a lovely quiet setting in the countryside, so we had a lot of much needed rest, but also ideally placed to explore Mont St Michel and surrounding coast, towns, villages and countryside. There is a small amusement park Ange Michel not too far away which our daughter loved. The property is basically but comfortably and well furnished. There is no oven in the kitchen but a gas hob and microwave for cooking. Everything is provided. Plenty of hot water. Dieter is an amazing host and we felt so well cared for yet also independent to do what we wanted. Dieter showed us his art gallery and surrounding grounds which were really interesting. We arrived as strangers but left as friends and we really hope we can have the opportunity to come again.

Lovely countryside farmhouse with character.

For a nice peaceful stay you couldn't find better. Pontorson is only a few minutes drive away which is a fair size town with plenty of shops and two supermarkets plus a midweek open air market. The property was clean and tidy, and had a lovely orchard garden for the children to play in, they loved feeding the hens and collecting the eggs. We would definitely stay there again. Dieter himself is a very helpful gentleman, with a very laid back manner and he has some great local knowledge for scenic routes and local markets.

Charming, tranquil house with a lovely host, Dieter.

We spent a week here and had a very relaxing time. The house is in the country so very quiet and Dieter was very welcoming and helpful. Supermarket 10 mins by car in Pontorson and you can see Mont St Michel from most of the roads around. We enjoyed sitting in the large garden/orchard which is lovely and safe. Dieter gave us fresh eggs from his chickens and found out info for us on the local area. Thank you Dieter for making us so welcome! Sally, Andy and Emma

Comfortable and hospitable

A comfortable gite in lovely quiet location. The owners Dee and Dieter were very friendly and hospitable. Lots of animals around - our kids loved that. Mont St Michel very close and a great day out, about half an hour from some lovely beaches. Would go again - our kids loved the gallery and doing a bit of painting.

Our Holiday

The best place to have a relaxing family holiday in France! we enjoyed Dee and Dieters hospitality they are the most friendly people you could wish to meet, the gite is wonderful and has all the facilities you will need, set in lovely gardens it is idealic. Thanks for a fantastic holiday we loved every minute of it, see you next year. The Rice Family

I'm now an artist living here since 2004. Before I've lived in Engalnd for 16 years and before that in Germany in and near Nuremberg. I studied paedagogic and worked with children and youngsters for many years.
I still like to encourage not only young people but adults too, to discover their creative side.
Take part in a painting session or an art workshop.

Why they chose this property

As we are on the "cusp" of Normandie and Brittany, we are well within easy access of Rennes, Caen, Dinnard, St Malo etc etc. The fact that we are in the bay of Mont Saint Michel means that the air is clean and pure. The light here for artists' is renowned and the sunsets are truly wonderful.
Although we are in the countryside we are within one mile of main roads to and from St Malo/Avranches.
Cancale, the famous mussle and oyster growing area is not far from here.

What makes this property unique

The benifits of living here are tranquility, clean fresh air and being able to grow all your own vegetables, to pick fresh fruit from the numerous apple, cherry and plum trees. The property is conveniently situated within easy access to Pontorson and Avranches as the N175 is literally down the end of a little lane.
You can relax in the orchard or take part in art-workshops.
