Village house, St Marc le Blanc, Brittany - Quiet Village Location in Beautiful Countryside
The house is a beautiful, spacious property in a thriving village, which has been tastefully renovated retaining all the original features, such as stone walls and oak beams. The house is located on a quiet road in the village of St Marc le Blanc and has is spread over 3 floors. On the ground floor there is a living/dining area, which leads onto the very well equipped kitchen. The back door in the kitchen then leads onto the fully enclosed garden, with patio area, lawn and play area. There is also a shower/wc/utility room on the ground floor. The attic bedroom is huge, and has a kingsize bed and w/c and basin. On the first floor there are two large twin bedrooms (one with an Xbox) and a large bathroom with bath, overhead shower and wc. The house is within easy reach of the St Malo beaches and the beaches of Normandy above Mont St Michel. Only 15kms from the medieval town of Fougères and 35kms from historic Rennes. Villecartier forest with pony and boat rides is only 10 mins drive.

A gorgeous house with everything we could wish for, plenty of DVDs for us and the kids and a brilliant base for exploring all the main sites (Rennes, Fougeres, Mont St Michel, St Malo, Cancale) as well as the beautiful local countryside.

Thankyou for providing us with such a lovely house (cake especially welcome on arrival!). Unfortunately weather not great, but none the less explored the area and had a great time. The Emerald coast is beautiful, even on a rainy day and a trip to the invasion beaches in Normandy was very moving.

Had a lovely time at this lovely property. The upstairs master bedroom is amazing. I loved the walks and local places to visit. The property was as described and I would definitely recommend this to Family and Friends just great for chilling out and away from the stress's and strains of life. The open fire is just great in the winter with a glass of wine we even toasted on forks. We will be back. Jacquie & Barry

“We bought the house in St Marc le Blanc in January 04 having initially fallen in love with the stair case and my husband saying the attic had potential! Even though it was empty for about 6 months before we bought it, the house never felt cold, it always feels like coming home. The gorgeous stone walls weren't discovered until the builder moved in and started hacking off the old plaster to knock out the wall in the sitting room and we decided to leave some of the walls exposed on each floor. Gradually over the last few years we have done more work but we are nearly there. This house is a lovely family home in a wonderful village, well worth a visit.”

There is a wide choice of beaches under an hours drive from the property. The beautiful emerald coast beaches at Dinard and St Malo and the beaches north of Mont St Michel are equally accessible.
Easy access from channel ports, driving distance 1 hr to St Malo, 90 minutes Caen and 2 hours to Cherbourg.
Airports - Dinard 50 minutes drive.
Rennes - 40 minutes drive.
25kms Mont St Michel. 15kms Fougères. 60km St Malo.
The village of St Marc has a bakery, butchers and grocery shop, plus 2 bars. The house is less than five minutes walk from the local bakery to collect the baguettes and croissants in the morning!

“The house is perfect for walkers, runners, cyclists and families alike. We are child friendly, with stair gates, high chair, cot and changing mat etc. The garden is completely enclosed and safe for the children to play or for those of you with well behaved pets. The village of St Marc is wonderful, you can wander down to the bakers in the morning for fresh croissant or a pain au raison. There is a post office and store and bar. It is a perfect spot for exploring the stunning coastline of Brittany or the medieval towns inland.”
