About the property

Gold Award 4* farm Cottage with Hot Tub, Aqua Massage Spa Bath, Queen Sized Bed

Newly refurbished this beautiful, rustic, two bedroomed cottage offers a private outdoor hot tub and indoor spa bath. Although rural, the cottage has Wi-fi and is just 10 minutes from the A30. It is set on a 116 hectare dairy farm, which you are welcome to visit, centrally situated for visiting all corners of Cornwall. The cottage is minutes from places such as the Eden Project, the lost Gardens of Heligan and Lanydrock House. The South Coast is 20 minutes drive away and the North, 30.

Short breaks are accepted out of the summer season for £140 for up to 4 people and £120 for two. Minimum 2 nights.

The cottage has a 55" flatscreen television in the lounge area and two further flat screen televisions, one in each bedroom. The living room is upstairs to take advantage of the panoramic views across the valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The patio doors open out onto the veranda where you can eat alfresco and watch the rising sun, or gaze at the stars on a clear, quiet evening. The living room has a beautiful leather suite and oak furniture complementing the stylish finish of the cottage's open plan first floor. The oak kitchen has granite worktops and is fully equipped with a dishwasher, combination microwave, electric oven/grill, electric hob and freezer.

The bedrooms can be found downstairs, along with the fully tiled bathroom and aqua massage spa bath. There is a double bedroom and a super king sized bed which can be unzipped to make two single 3 ft beds.

The cottage has its own private, off street parking area and garden with barbecue and garden furniture. There is a large shower in the private games room, ideally situated beside the hot tub which is not overlooked from the original farm house next door. The games room has a small pool table, table top football, lots of children's games and body boards for the beach. There is also a charcoal bbq and plenty of garden furniture.

Tor View Cottage adjoins the original farm house. Both were built with cob walls and slate roofs. Tor View is the perfect base for your walking or cycling holiday, with extensive tracks of moorland, heathland and woodland nearby. You can see Breney Common and Helman Tor from the veranda, both fabulous places to walk, bird and animal watch. Tor View is alongside the Saints Way Walking route and the Network 3 cycle route. The cycle route takes you onto the Eden Project which is around 5 miles away.

About Clare Hugo

Hello. We are Neil and Clare Hugo who run a family dairy farm in the heart of Cornwall. We have four children and two grandsons. Our two sons work on the farm and two girls, one of whom is a manageress and the other is College studying dance. We have a pet goat called fudge, a super friendly horse called Gypsy, a lovely working dog called Jack, and our friendly spaniel, Tim.

Clare Hugo purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Clare Hugo chose Cornwall

When the cottage next door came up for sale in 2005, we had already fallen in love with it and decided we had to buy. It was the original farmhouse with the cow shed attached to one end. The previous owners had converted the cow shed into accommodation so it was perfect for letting as two properties. We long let one of the cottages. The other cottage has the living area and veranda upstairs taking advantage of the spectacular, panoramic views.

What makes this cottage unique

Watching the stars on a clear evening, listening to the birds with no traffic in the back ground, watching the sun rise on a clear, misty morning, opening the window and saying hello to the horses are just a few of the benefits of staying in our beautiful Cornish cottage.

Guestbook comments from the owner

‘What a lucky find on the internet. Would highly recommend to family and friends. Excellent in every way. We will return.’ Clare and David, Oxford.

I got out of the car and thought that the world had stopped -such peace and tranquillity... And the view of the stars at night - incredible’, Nat., West Midlands.

Beautiful cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and 2-year-old daughter. We loved that it was so tucked away from everything yet very close to many attractions. The views are beautiful and the hot tub was a bonus! The cottage was well-equipped with spacious rooms. My little girl loved running about in the cottage as well as outside looking for all sorts of animals. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.

Some tips:

In the msg, it might say to bring your own towels, but all bath and hot tub towels are actually provided

Bring cooking oil if you're planning on doing any cooking

Tintangel is beautiful

The Eden Project was nice (very close to cottage)

The Lost Garden's of Heligan was wonderful (not far from cottage)

Avoid Padstow town but Harlyn Bay was fun

We stayed in this beautiful traditional cottage for Christmas and it was everything we had hoped for. The cottage is cosy and very well equipped and the surroundings were beautiful. Very peaceful and tranquil, yet close enough for visiting the local area and beaches. The owners were very helpful and friendly and we would definitely return. The outdoor hot tub was a real bonus - relaxing under the stars at night - bliss!
