The village of Mundesley is an excellent location for a seaside holiday. It has a wonderful wide beach backed by a small promenade and a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Some may enjoy a dip in the sea or perhaps just the chance to relax and enjoy the view, whilst children will love to play on the golden sands. The close proximity of Gig House to the beach makes it an ideal safe location for family holidays. Mundesley is a traditional English seaside village popular with day trippers and holidaymakers alike, without being too busy. The wide sandy beach ensures Mundesley is not overcrowded even during the summer months. Mundesley is an ideal base for long walks along the coast all year round. The house was constructed in the early 1840's using traditional materials; brick, flint and lime plaster. The flint and lime plaster is 'breathable' which allows moisture to enter the walls, which may mean uneven / flaking lime plasterwork from time to time.

The excellent family friendly beach at Mundesley is a stones throw away from Gig House, situated 100m away from the main lifeguard station and tourist amenities. Private slipways to the beach at either side of Gig House, ideal for launching small diving boats, jet skis, etc. Popular with local young surfers and boogie boarders.

Travel:

Mundesley is 7 miles from Cromer, 25 miles from Norwich. Car hire is not essential as local public transport is excellent, regular trains into Norwich from Cromer or North Walsham. Hourly bus service into Norwich, Cromer and North Walsham.

Distances:

Beach 25m, beach cafes and amusements, crazy golf 200m, village centre 400m.

20% non refundable booking deposit payable upon confirmation of booking. Balance payable 6 weeks before start of holiday along with £100 security deposit to cover any breakages/damage. This would be repaid within 14 days of your return if no damage has occurred.

Changeover Day:
Spring / Summer /Autumn Saturday changeover day. Flexible during Winter periods. Arrival after 4.00pm, departure before 10.00am unless otherwise agreed with owner.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Shorter breaks considered outside of July and August period, please contact the owner for details and availability.

Pet policy
There will be a £20 charge per dog. We do ask that you respect the furniture for future guests.

  • Notes on accommodation: Gig House is an excellent location for families due to its close proximity to the sandy beach. Fuel is provided for the wood burner during the winter months for cosy days and nights sat in front of the fire looking out to sea watching the boats and ships pass by. If you are looking for a 'hotel' type of property to say in with a 'show house' perfection, Gig House is probably not for you. If you are looking for a traditional clean holiday home full of character in a unique location next to the sea, then Gig House is an excellent place to spend your holidays. Outside: Open plan patio garden leading to slipway (only used for five other properties). Timber decking area overlooking the sea, ideal for outside dining/relaxing. Dining table and chairs, barbecue. Parking area for 3 cars Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board and storage space for cycles, beach equipment, etc. Shower area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Weekly maid service included. Towels and linen provided. Beach towels are not provided. Welcome pack included (tea, coffee, sugar, milk).
