Converted Stables in Mundesley, Nr. Cromer, Norfolk, England - Excellent Unique Location, 25m from Beach with Private Slipway

The village of Mundesley is an excellent location for a seaside holiday. It has a wonderful wide beach backed by a small promenade and a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Some may enjoy a dip in the sea or perhaps just the chance to relax and enjoy the view, whilst children will love to play on the golden sands. The close proximity of Gig House to the beach makes it an ideal safe location for family holidays. Mundesley is a traditional English seaside village popular with day trippers and holidaymakers alike, without being too busy. The wide sandy beach ensures Mundesley is not overcrowded even during the summer months. Mundesley is an ideal base for long walks along the coast all year round. The house was constructed in the early 1840's using traditional materials; brick, flint and lime plaster. The flint and lime plaster is 'breathable' which allows moisture to enter the walls, which may mean uneven / flaking lime plasterwork from time to time.

The pictures on the website dont prepare you for how good the house is and how close you are to the beach and sea. The beach is wonderful. Our dog loved it more than we did. Notes on accommodation: Gig House is an excellent location for families due to its close proximity to the sandy beach. Fuel is provided for the wood burner during the winter months for cosy days and nights sat in front of the fire looking out to sea watching the boats and ships pass by. If you are looking for a 'hotel' type of property to say in with a 'show house' perfection, Gig House is probably not for you. If you are looking for a traditional clean holiday home full of character in a unique location next to the sea, then Gig House is an excellent place to spend your holidays. Outside: Open plan patio garden leading to slipway (only used for five other properties). Timber decking area overlooking the sea, ideal for outside dining/relaxing. Dining table and chairs, barbecue. Parking area for 3 cars Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board and storage space for cycles, beach equipment, etc. Shower area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Weekly maid service included. Towels and linen provided. Beach towels are not provided. Welcome pack included (tea, coffee, sugar, milk). Other: Outside patio area leading to cobbled slipway to beach (only used for five other properties). Garden furniture including table, chairs, barbecue.

Great location

Per last year the family had a fantastic time and again we were blessed with the weather, which helps when you have two under 5! Property is in a fantastic location with a wonderful beach a stones throw away. Nice quiet location, unspoilt village. The property itself is showing signs of wear and tear and could do with little TLC to bring it up to the same level of feel and quality of other house we have stayed in. We would be back for the beach alone!

Very cosy and enjoyable holiday in a great location

The cottage is in a great location close to beach and an ideal location for visiting local places in North Norfolk.

I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact the cottage itself is in need of some maintenance, general improvements and could have been cleaned to a higher standard.

Luckily we had great weather for our week and we had a great family holiday.

Fantastic property

Gig house is a charming homely house with amazing sea views and impressed far more then we expected. The log burning stove was great for cool evenings in, after fresh sea air. The balcony off the back bedroom is great for morning views while enjoying the first cuppa of the day. Easy access to the beach, for great dog walks. The village had good basic facilities and friendly folk in the local 2 pubs. The house had all that could be wanted and the complementary tea and milk and loo rolls were great too. The golf club was a hit and kept the boys busy.

I would definitely recommend this property and location.

Fantastic

I simply lovely the Gig House - have been several times now and each time it is fantastic. The house is beautifully clean and just love siting looking at the beach/sea, taking long walks with my small dog. A chance to get away from it all and recharge batteries. Hope to go again soon.

Divers will love the local area to explore sunken ship wrecks off the coast.

Coast/Beach:

The excellent family friendly beach at Mundesley is a stones throw away from Gig House, situated 100m away from the main lifeguard station and tourist amenities. Private slipways to the beach at either side of Gig House, ideal for launching small diving boats, jet skis, etc. Popular with local young surfers and boogie boarders.

Travel:

Mundesley is 7 miles from Cromer, 25 miles from Norwich. Car hire is not essential as local public transport is excellent, regular trains into Norwich from Cromer or North Walsham. Hourly bus service into Norwich, Cromer and North Walsham.

Distances:

Beach 25m, beach cafes and amusements, crazy golf 200m, village centre 400m.

Mundesley village has a doctors surgery, a chemist, Spa shop, fruit and veg shop, butchers, fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, 4 pubs, CIU club, 4 cafes, Post Office, Tourist Information Centre, weekly car boot sale, fishmongers van (Lobster Pot), art gallery/ shop, gift shops, amusement arcade.

Spring / Summer /Autumn Saturday changeover day. Flexible during Winter periods. Arrival after 4.00pm, departure before 10.00am unless otherwise agreed with owner.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Shorter breaks considered outside of July and August period, please contact the owner for details and availability.

Pet policy
There will be a £20 charge per dog. We do ask that you respect the furniture for future guests.
