We are John and Karen Bennett, We are in our very early 50's, we both work hard and love to play hard too.

We both enjoy the luxury things in life, hence why we instantly fell in love with Almerimar the minute we first saw it back in 2005. We've met and made friends with some lovely people and it's always a pleasure to return to Almerimar and catch up with everyone. Over the years we've seen the resort becoming more and more popular, particularly in the summer. The resort is a purpose-built haven for enjoying the most relaxing and comfortable break. We chose the PortoFino complex simply because it ticked all the boxes, beautifully built, luxurious and perfectly placed for everything Almerimar has on offer. The Port, beaches, golf course, bars and restaurants are literally on our doorstep.

Sunny bright apartment

Beautiful clean spacious apartment.

Well maintained and well equipped.

Use of garage. Nice views from terrace.

Spotless pool friendly people.

Unless you just want a totally relaxing holiday

You would definitely need a car to explore surrounding areas.

Everywhere was clean and there was a fair few bars/restaurants to explore.

Due to a serious accident the holiday had to be cut short. The small amount of time spent here was enjoyable!

Holiday home from home

Not sure that I can recommend this apartment as I need to make sure I can rebook before everyone else. Excellent location all you could ever want for a holiday easy to book and kept informed all the way. So good we rebooked on landing back in England.

Lovely apartment

This is our second holiday in this apartment and I am sure it will not be our last, the apartment has everything you need and is furnished and maintained to a very high standard, the living area is very comfortable and great for relaxing when you return home in the evenings, the bedroom wardrobe has plenty of space (and hangers) and the bed is very comfortable, the shower is also excellent, the rooftop sun terrace is a great place to catch some sunshine at any time of the day and gives great views of the coast, golf course and the distant mountains. We ate at lots of different bars, all offer a free tapas with your drink and everywhere the service was very friendly, Karen was great to deal with and if there are any problems at the apartment John and Joan are always on hand to sort them out. We would recommend this apartment to anyone for a great relaxing holiday.

My husband and I have just spent two weeks at this apartment and we just loved everything about it. The photos on the website are exactly what its like, luxurious, spotless clean and everything you need within the apartment if you want to stay in some night's and watch tv or listen to music or just eat at home. My husband and I enjoyed breakfasts and lunches in the balcony off the main living area and we sunbathed on the rooftop which has sunbeds and a large Alexander Rose table and chairs. The large supermarket is just metres away from the apartment. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance most of which are set around the beautiful Marina. We ate out most nights enjoying the varied range of Tapas available the bars around the Marina. We also ate in The Stumble Inn which serves lovely homemade food , the staff are very friendly there. We also ate in Mario's , they do a nice chicken kebab or wrap among other things. Our favourite place to eat was Leos with lovely friendly staff and amazing food. Almerimar is one of the nicest places I have visited n holiday. There is a tourist information right at the front entrance of the apartment if you want to book day trips or find out things of interest in and around Almerimar. We had a quiet holiday this year which was just what we were looking for but we have rebooked the apartment for next year where we intend to explore more of the area and things to do there. If you are flying from Glasgow you need to fly to Malaga and arrange transport form there to the apartment unless you are hiring a car. The owners arranged transport for us with their apartment managers at a reasonable cost so it was no hassle and a very pleasant drive to Almerimar. The owners of this apartment couldn't be more helpful and informative of the apartment and Almerimar. I would not hesitate to recommend this to a friend.

This was our first time in Almeria and after all we experienced it will not be our last. Our apartment was fantastic so welcoming and spotless it contained everyting we needed and had such a warm and welcoming feeling we felt at home straight away. it had lovely touches and on arrival we had a lovely welcome message from the owners and a bottle of wine. Almeria itself too was such a nice place the people were so friendly and all bars etc we visited they made us feel so welcome.

The Resort is flanked by two Blue Flag beaches that stretch East and West of the resort. They are within minutes walking distance from Porto Fino Complex.


The nearest airport is Almeria, 25 miles away, It's a 30 minute drive. There are many car hire companies based in Almeria airport that offer cheap car-hire.

Malaga airport is also another option. The journey to Almerimar takes you along a scenic coastal road along a mediterranean sea. Approx 2 hours drive.

Regular flights by Monarch, BMI Baby, EasyJet, Ryanair ThomasCook all fly into Almeria Airport from most Regional Airports throghout the UK.


Places of interest nearby include the neighbouring Resort of Roquetas de Mar, it is the largest holiday resort in the province and stretches for miles along the coast.

Mojacar resort is also well worth a visit, it consists of the old Mojacar Pueblo that is steeped in history and Mojacar Playa that offers miles of beautiful coastal scenery with many Beachbars, Restaurants and holiday activities.

Mini Hollywood is the longest established Theme Park. It is the setting of many Spaghetti Westerns.

Mario WaterPark also provides a great day of entertainment for the Children. it is a 20 minute drive away.

Just up the road out of Almerimar there is a large Go karting track, it is one of the best equipped state of the art technology Kart racing circuits in Europe. Cinema and Bowling.

Cabo de Gata Parque natural covers 38,000 hectares of land and 12,000 hectares of sea making it the most important protected area in Southern Spain.

2 hours drive away is the great sky station Ski Village resort towards Granada in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The journey up to the top of the resort on top class mountain motorway provide breathtaking scenery. Snowboarding and skiing at all levels can be accessed. Hire of equipment is available at very reasonable costs.

  • Outside: Being situated on a corner, the apartment affords spectacular views to the Marina, Sea, adjacent Golf Course and the mountain dropback of the Sierra Nevada. The terraces are large and offer everything required for a relaxing holiday. The terraces are furnished to a very high standard, having quality Alexander Rose rattan furniture. The upper terrace has a large cube dining table and four easy chairs with complimenting stools. A built in BBQ and fantastic views of the whole Resort to make dining al-fresco that bit more special. The bottom terrace also has quality dining furniture and is partly covered to allow for late evening dining/sitting out. The complex has a large secure gated pool for guests to use. The apartment is only metres away from Blue Flag beaches that are well cared for and stretch for miles. There are ample fresh water showers and toilets and numerous beach bars.
