About the Owner

Hi, we live in Brighton , Sussex, Uk with our daughter and small doggy ,Lily . Over the years we have had wonderful holidays staying with friends in the Algarve. We found it catered to all our needs, I like to go to busy , vibrant resorts whilst my husband enjoys the peace and quiet of the countryside, walking and listening to the birds. So, we decided to buy our own house 12 years ago. It was a ruin, inland and we have since renovated it to a high standard keeping as many original features as possible.

My husband is an actor and so our beautiful villa gives him the peace and quiet he needs to 'switch off' away from his busy schedule.

We hope all our guests enjoy the beautiful surounding countryside and our house as much as we do.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely house, looking forward to coming back next year! We were sad to leave as the two weeks weren't long enough.

Dear Anita and Chris,We have been here for nearly 2 weeks and love it. What a super spot and certainly away from it all and no tourists in sight!

Went up to see the sunset at the bar on the top of the nearby hill where all the flags are and it was amazing – 2 larges glasses of wine and a beer 2 Euros 20 cents and a view to die for.

Anyway having a lovely time and weather perfect. You must be our kind of people – 3 cork screws – wine coolers in the freezer and lots of proper sized glasses!!

Thanks again for having us as guests

Facilities

From the Owner

The 2 local village restaurants serve delicious food and are still extremely cheap! If you are still hungry....we have the best black figs in our garden! We also have our own olive tree and a delicious plum tree. Only 11 mins drive away you have the picturesque village of Alt and in the other direction the beautiful bustling market town of Loule. There is a fish van and frozen food van that drive around the immediate area. you may think it's an ice cream van as they sound the same!!! However the frozen food van does have ice lollies!! Sheer luxury in such an area! sO ,if you hear the sound just pop outside the gate as they stop there for a couple of minutes...but you have to be quick!! The vibrant outdoor market is on a Saturday with many bargains to be had ranging from painted Portuguese plates to shoes, handbags , sunglasses, clothes etc. The colourful indoor food market of Loule is well worth a visit to see the wonderful selection of fish, meat and fruit. Loule is the capital town of the Algarve and has retained its Portuguese character. It's only 15mins drive from our villa and really worth a visit.
