Village House Apartments in Torrox Pueblo on the Costa del Sol - In Historic Centre With Spectacular Mountain Views
Our house is one of the oldest and largest in the historic centre and dates back to the 16th century. It's front door is only half a minute’s walk from the main square, the Plaza de la Constitución, with its cafés and restaurants but, at the back, it has large, flowerfilled terraces overlooking the river, open countryside and spectacular mountains. The house is known locally as the House of the Inquisition. The house is on three floors surrounding a central andaluz patio with open staircase. It is a family home but has two self-contained floors that are available for holiday letting when not used for holidays by members of the family itself.

The castilette has a large 7 metre square living room with open fireplace. This has a double put-u-up settee. There is a bedroom with a double canopy bed and a bedroom with two single beds. The bathroom has a shower into a short bath. The kitchen has granite work surfaces and is all electric with both dishwasher and washing machine. There is central heating for those few chilly nights and all is furnished with old and antique furniture. The private terrace is filled with plants and flowers and has stunning views.
About the Owner
I moved to Andalucía from London twenty three years ago and bought this house in Torrox in the year 2000. For the last eight years, I have shared the house and its responsibilities with Julio who comes from Ecuador. We, in turn, share our part of it with six cats!

“Torrox pueblo has the advantage of being still very Spanish and yet, in part, on the coast. Thus we have both village life and beach life. I had always wanted to live in the middle of a Spanish village, within walking distance of everything. The pueblo has a particular charm and boasts ‘the best climate in Europe.’”

We live on the premises and would be happy to offer classes in typical local cooking or to supply the occasional meal. One of us is a native spanish speaker who can offer lessons in basic spanish.
Torrox pueblo is three kms. inland from the beach but its coastal enclave, Torrox Costa, has long beaches with typical beach bars and a large variety of restaurants with different cuisines and styles.
The village has a new, totally ecological heated swimmingpool open all year.
We are 50 minutes from Málaga airport. Car hire is recommended and we can offer advice on this.
Granada with the world famous Alhambra, (an hour and a half), Sevilla with it's cathedral, (three hours), Córdoba with it's mezquita, (two and a half hours), and of course Málaga with the impressive Picasso museum, (thirty-five minutes) are all easily accessible. Nerja with its outstanding caves is only fifteen minutes away. Inland from Torrox there are a multitude of beautiful whitewashed villages with Arab church towers and battlements waiting to be explored.
We are in the middle of the village and local shops, banks and restaurants are all only minutes away on foot. Locals sell their produce from doorways. There are large supermarkets on the coast 15 minutes away by car.

Booking can be done by phone or email. A 20% deposit will secure a rental. Payment in full can be made on arrival.
We prefer Saturday changeovers but are flexible.
Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in euros. Couples wanting to rent the larger Castilette apartment, and using only one bedroom, will be offered a discount.
We ask for an additional 5 euros per night for extra people above four

- Notes on accommodation: The two apartments are centrally heated and we make use of solar panels for hot water. Children are welcome. Outside: Both apartments have large flowerfilled terraces with both sun and shade. There are tables, chairs and loungers.
