Nested in the middle of 35 acres of private land, the Dezie Manor has three independent holiday homes (around 250sqm each) with private heated pools that sleep 6/8 people, offering an authentic atmosphere with a warm and cosy interior, associating traditional architecture and the lifestyle of a true family home.

The property is located in the heart of Perigord near all the touristic attractions this 17th century Manor was built before the French revolution using the traditional stone work so typical of this region of France.

This property is a perfect expression of medieval stone work and carpentry. It’s pure architecture with a modern cosy inside.

The Villa is spacious with it’s 250sqm surface and it sleeps 8 people with 4 bedrooms all en-suite.

The Orangerie’s private lane leads you up to the park and the villa with it’s wonderful arched windows and stone pillars that compose the covered terrace that will lead you to the spectacular arched summer house.

The main living area is luminous and has 2 large sliding doors that look to the west and the east park so that you can appreciate the lighting from the sunrise and the sunset every day.

Going out of the west terrace you have access to the park and the private heated pool. The 10x5 pool has a 100qsm stepped deck and is surrounded by luxurious exotic plants and is perfectly exposed.

As people who enjoy good food and cooking, we have provided everything we would hope to find in a fully equipped kitchen to make cooking a delight

Home from home!

We loved the privacy of the Orangerie with its lovely wide terrace and new cool outdoor room, which was perfect if you wanted to sometimes escape the hot sun!

The house has a dual aspect with views across fields and woods, allowing views of the spectacular sunsets either from the rear balcony or the pool. There is a well planned kitchen with breakfast bar and we liked the ground floor bedrooms with their individual showers and basin. The upper floor is a suite of bedroom, bathroom and dressing room which we found spacious and comfortable.

All in all our week spent here was peaceful and most enjoyable. Grant was very helpful if we ever needed anything, and watching the ponies grazing in the nearby fields was a real treat for city dwellers like ourselves!

A wonderful holiday

Hello Grant and Kiki, you live in an idyllic spot and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing it with you for a week. I believe Grace has found her spiritual home!! It was really lovely chatting to Kiki about children, home and life generally. Watching Grace riding was a real highlight as when Grace is contented I am also. Beautiful House and Grounds.

We stayed in the Dezie Manor (the Orangerie) for four weeks in June and is a great place for relaxing! It is very central to all the great tourist attractions. Staying in the Orangerie with family (three couples in total), it is ideal for big group. Very Roomy neat and tidy and has a fully equipped Kitchen (every thing you need).

Grant and Christelle were wonderful with our four year old boy. From the Barn you look out over paddocks one with very friendly horses and of evening you will see some beautiful sunsets. The weather in June here is great for an afternoon swim a then Happy hour with local Wine and Cheese on the verandah. Market day on Friday in Vergt is great to buy the some of the best fruit & vegies you will ever taste. The Local Golf course (Golf De La Marterie) is great and the dinning there is spectacular. Debbie the host will look after you. I would stay there again.

Superb villa, relaxing rural location.

We (4 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs) have just spent a week in this Villa and absolutely loved it. The villa is spacious and very well equipped with the most beautiful, huge gardens surrounding it. The owners are very helpful and friendly and very kindly allowed our daughters to ride their ponies free of charge several times. The location feels very secluded but is actually a very short drive to supermarkets, restaurant etc in nearby villages. We went to the local restaurant in Cendrieux and were very warmly welcomed (including the dogs!) and the food and service were excellent.

The villa overlooks the owners' horse paddocks and myself and the children throughly enjoyed watching the horses play whilst we relaxed around the pool.

The location is truly relaxing with some lovely country walks right on the doorstep. We would definitely recommend and plan to visit again.

Christelle and I fell in love with the "Old Dezie Manor" the first day we visited it, it was in desperate need of restoration but we really wanted to give this amazing property the restoration it deserved. After 10 years of hard work The Old Dezie has become a little paradise...

There are excellent restaurants in the nearby villages where we can book a tables for you on demand.

For outdoor activities there's is a good riding school minutes away, canoeing trip on the nearby Dordogne River, tree adventure park, and for our most adventurous guests hot air balloon rides.

Plenty of prehistorical Caves and medieval Castle to visit in the area.

PONY RIDE ON SITE, on demand, free of charge.

Coast/Beach:

Bordeaux - Dunes of Arcachon, just over 2 hour drive. Rivers and Lakes, many of the local lakes have beaches, some with slides/swimming platforms and lifeguards during the high season.

Travel:

It is an easy journey from the UK whether by car or plane. We are approx 350 miles from St Malo and 500 miles from Calais and Boulogne. Both are easy journeys using the excellent French motorway network. If you'd like us to recommend a simple route - just ask. By air: Bergerac 35 mins with direct low cost flights from Stansted, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Southampton or Bristol. Bordeaux 2 hours direct flights from Manchester, East Midlands (Nottingham) and Gatwick.

Distances:

The Old Dezie Domain is situated in the heart of the Dordogne.

Cendrieux, the nearest village, is 5 min away and has it's village shop, lovely restaurant, bar tabac, post office. Le Bugue 15km/15 mins tourist activities, restaurants, numerous supermarkets and weekly market. Vergt 10km/10 mins supermarket, markets and restaurants. Les Eyzies 20km/20 mins pre-historic caves and museums. Sarlat 40km/45 mins famous medieval town.

The Dordogne Valley offers Peace and tranquillity and plenty of activities, fine wines and cuisine, rivers and stunning countryside, hundreds of years of history and even a golf course nearby.

Perigord Noir is the heart of the Dordogne offering a variety of landscapes, flamboyant chateaux and the centre of prehistoric history.

All the main attractions are within easy reach - of which these are just a taster: The vineyards of Bergerac, Bordeaux and St Emilion are within easy reach and regional delicacies include - truffles, foie gras, duck, walnuts and strawberries.
