Modern Spacious House With Private Pool And Secure, Secluded Gardens

Updated: 23-Jun-2016
Holiday Home in Villetoureix, near Riberac, Dordogne, Aquitaine, France - Holiday In Space, Comfort And Peace

Give the children everything they could wish for in a holiday home, so that the parents too, can relax and enjoy themselves. From the games cupboard in the lounge to the swimming pool, table tennis, badminton, wendy house, and lots more besides, small and big children should never be heard to utter 'i'm bored!' The house is on the edge of the village, elevated position for the views, but seldom windy. Very spacious, with living rooms, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, WC/cloakroom on the ground floor, 2 bedrooms and an en-suite bathroom in the 'tower' room upstairs. Plenty of parking space, or abandon the cars, and make use of the 4 bikes, or even walk to the village store for your daily bread. Nearest town is Riberac (2 miles) with 2 large supermarkets and several restaurants. Close by are rivers and lakes for swimming, canoeing and fishing. And, beautiful villages are all within an easy drive or cycle ride.

A wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We have a wonderful holiday in this beautiful home. Stunning location in small village close to Riberac. The accommodation is of a high standard, is very well appointed and was a perfect size for our group of two families (4 adults and 4 children aged between 7 and 11 years). The owners are very helpful before and during our stay and everything that you could possibly need is provided. There is a large swimming pool, a table tennis table, a child's swing, bikes, volleyball/badminton net and a large garden with a BBQ and large outdoor eating area. Nearby there is plenty to do including canoeing and visits to caves, churches, markets and castles. All in all a fantastic holiday, ten out of ten!

Owner's Response: Very many thanks for your much appreciated feedback. We work hard every year to keep the property up to a high standard, refreshing decor and equipment in following Paul's career mantra 'retail is detail' into our holiday letting business. Our philosophy of keep the children occupied even in adverse weather, then their parents can relax too, evidenced by our French neighbour (200 metres away!) commenting how happy and animated the children sound from her garden. Delighted that you have booked to return next year, for 2 weeks!

Excellent villa, good amenities, peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The villa was presented in a very pleasing manner. The booking experience was first class, with excellent joining instructions, with details sent through prior to setting off. Full Guides and instructions were present to explain the procedures for all things such as pool alarm, washing machines,

entertainment media. The owners telephoned us upon arrival to ensure we had arrived safely, which i felt was a nice touch, (not forgetting the two bottles of wine as a gift on arrival). Another nice touch.

The villa is very well equipped and maintained to a very high standard, with lots to offer. We made use of all amenities, especially the pool and extensive outdoor area.

Linen was changed weekly and the pool was clean, with excellent water quality. The grounds of the villa provide very good privacy, and you notice how peaceful and beautiful the surroundings area is. We made use of the bikes, table tennis, badminton, pool, library, dvds, boules, cards. The visitor book provides great recommendations into the places to visit and eat.

I would definitely recommend this villa for anyone wanting to visit this region. In a nutshell, great villa, great customer service from owners, and will definitely book again in future.

Beautiful home in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

The property was better than described. It was located in a beautiful rural area and although quiet we found plenty to do within a fairly reasonable drive. Two good supermarkets and everything reasonably priced. It was a pleasure to cook lovely meals with a fantastically equipped kitchen. We also dined out in the beautiful garden and enjoyed the pool. Everything was as you would expect from a 5 star property. My teenage daughters summed it up when they arrived and looked around and said 'wow' . Had a lovely meal with entertainment on our last night at Chez Severine, a 10 minute walk down the hill. Even contacted on arrival by owner to check we were ok and greeted by french neighbour. All in all a lovely week and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property. Hope to come back!!!

Les Boleaux

  • 4 of 5

Our family inc grandparents had a lovely stay at Les Boleaux last week. The property was exactly as described, clean, well maintained etc. The location is very rural/peaceful (and exactly per GPS co-ordinates which help for navigation purposes). The local town of Riberac has a nice feel with some good restaurants. Had a couple of rainy days and the extensive DVD/BLU selection was very useful for keeping the children occupied. The owners were helpful and gave us a courtesy call during the stay. Would recommend without hesitation.

Our holiday

  • 5 of 5

We've just spent two fantastic weeks at this lovely property in the Dordogne. The owners have thought of absolutely everything to keep adults and children happy. We were a big family party with bossy grownups and children and there was not one argument! Plenty to do with pool equipment, games, space to play, lounge around and generally enjoy the area. Weather was on the whole very good - but the range of activities meant that it was not so important. Lots of lovely places to visit in the surrounding countryside including a nearby lake with cafes etc and free canoeing. The house was clean, well equipped with big rooms and a pretty outlook. We had such a great time.... many thanks and congratulations to Paul and Val on creating a super holiday venue.

The nearest seaside beaches are on the Atlantic coast, all around 2 hours away. Most visitors to the Dordogne find the local river and lake facilities are just as good as the seaside! Aubeterre (25 mins) is great for it's river beach and the lovely village itself. Grand Etang du Jemaye (25 mins) is a large lake with a big sandy beach and recently completed restaurants and nature path.

Most visitors arrive by their own car. The nearest channel ports are Caen (Ouistreham) or St Malo (6 hours). Furthest and cheapest crossing is via Calais (9 hours). Bergerac (45 mins) is the nearest international airport with flights from several British airports. Bordeaux and Limoges are also possibilities by air.

As well as the Dordogne river valley, don't miss visits to Brantome, Aubeterre and Perigueux, (all around 25-35 mins) Bordeaux (90 mins) is well worth the journey. St Emillon (wine), Cognac and many locations on the river Dordogne can all make for a great day out. Riberac, on our doorstep, has a celebrated market every Friday.

Further Details:

Although the house is 'far from the madding crowd' there are plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants in and around Riberac (5 mins). I have been sent to Le Clerc, supermarket, with a shopping list of 10 items and been back in the house with the goods in 15 minutes! Free broadband internet access and free telephone calls, to France, UK and rest of Europe (landlines only).
