I am a dental surgeon and although Scottish live in the South of England with my wife and 2 of our 3 grown up children. Our son is a SAR helicopter pilot and lives with his lovely family in Kent. We enjoy family life, try to keep fit, enjoy golf, the theatre, movies, eating out, socialising with friends and visiting Boavista as often as we can.

Just returned home from a delightful holiday in this beautiful apartment at Boa Vista. This is our second year at this resort and we cannot wait to return. This accommodation was first class, situated in a tranquil location yet with close proximity to the pool. We would thoroughly recommend it.

Spotless, great location and resort.

Thank you Wendy for a beautiful, fully equipped, spotless apartment. The views and location were first class. This was our fourth visit to Boa Vista and we found the facilities were as good as the first time we went! Lovely pools, spa, gym, driving range, clubhouse and course. The food in the clubhouse was great, we particularly enjoyed the BBQ night. Lagos has some lovely restaurants and some beautiful beaches. Thank you for a fabulous holiday, we would have no hesitation in recommending your apartment.

Superb all round

Finally managed to secure a 12 day break in Boavista. The apartment is as described; very well appointed all round.The two balconies afford both morning and evening sun; the views from the front balcony in particular are magnificent. The whole complex is scrupously clean and the staff throughout are friendly and pleasant. The indoor Spa is an added bonus. The Chicken or Beef pie night in the clubhouse is well worth a visit; with a sweet and an alcoholic drink for under a "tenner"- oh, and entertainment from a talented musician!!

Hire a car if possible and visit the interior, the west coast, and even further afield. Roads are generally quiet and well worth the effort.

Will return, and would not hesitate to recommend the apartment- really nice people to deal with.

Yorkies Retreat

We have stayed in this property 3 times now for 3 weeks in sept . The owners are a delight to deal with the appt. is beautifully presented . Its a short walk to a large secure swimming pool area which is very well maintained . The whole complex inc .the gardens ,golf course. club house and spa and leisure facilities are 1st class. Boavista is about 2kms from lagos and Luz which has an abundance of restaurants and lovely beaches .The staff in the club house are excellent very friendly and attentive . The property was well maintained ,we had daily service on bed making and bathrooms and twice weekly on towels and bed linen and a complete clean weekly . I would say that the listing description was spot on except compared to other properties we have stayed in this area was better than expected . We would recommend unreservedly this property to any body except in sept . when we would like to go again .The only thing that could be improved is the area is the price of golf where I feel the clubs are not in touch with todays economic reality.

Uddingston Scotland

WOW ......What a place !!!

Having spent many weeks in properties on the Algarve over the years I can only say that this is the finest property I've encountered.

Whether you are going for golf or otherwise a stay here will enhance your experience.

The property has an excellent location within the estate; a 5 min walk to the clubhouse (with all its facilities) , a min to the outdoor pool and views from the both balconies over the course and beyond.

The apatment is elegant and bright with modern contemporary furnishings and the decor is very tastefully done.

The accomadation is as described by the owners and all rooms are spacious and airey (the master bedroom is massive)

Everything you may need is available and in excellent condition throughout. The standards here are of the highest order.

The apartment is scrupulously clean and well maintained.

You can choose between sun or shade, both morning or evening by electing either front or rear balconies (watch the owls and birds from the rear balcony!!)

Lagos is nearby, by foot by car or taxi or why not walk up through the estate:-

go right at the top and you'll find yourself with a stunning view of Pria de Luz ( you can walk down there too for lunch or a cold beer)

go left for a longer walk around the coast with its magnificent clifftop views and arrive at Pria Ana then onward into Lagos stopping for a bite of lunch at the hilltop cafe opposite the campsite above Lagos where you can appreciate the stunning view of Lagos Bay

I can highly recommend this property and the area of Lagos itself with its excellent restaurants and bars etc.

Furthermore you'll find this proprerty is excellent value for money and the owners very helpful and easy to deal with

Lovely place to stay

Having stayed at Boavista before we thought we knew what to expect and were happy, but the apartment we stayed at was even better.

You can tell it was a former show home with superior furnishings and fittings and it was exceptionally comfortable throughout. A true home from home.

The resort itself is lovely, very well kept and the golf course perfectly manicured. The golf clubhouse very good and reasonably priced. Not too sure about the entertainment as we only saw 2 singers on the nights we were in the clubhouse. Would definitely return.

Bovista Villa

I think the best way of describing my experience of staying in this charming villa is to say that I wish it was mine and I am green with envy at the lucky owners! It is impossible to fault the accommodation which is tastefully decorated and furnished sitting on a prime site near enough to benefit from all the amenities that the resort offers guests yet retaining a feeling of seclusion and privacy. There was ample space for our requirements and the extensive balconies front and rear with sunbathing and barbequing facilities were well used by our party. Can?t fault the villa or the resort which is a pleasant walk?s distance from both Lagos and Praia da Luz although a taxi is needed for the return journey :) I will definitely be going back at some point hopefully to this villa.

We love Boavista because of its fantastic facilities and quiet location! It has something for everyone - ranging from golf, driving range, golf shop, smart clubhouse, health spa, heated outdoor pools, tennis, football academy, children's playground to its bar and restaurants. And when relaxation is the order of the day, all you need to do is retreat to the apartment to indulge in the peace, tranquility and panoramic views afforded from either balcony, or simply cross the road from the apartment to the privately gated Lakeview Village outdoor swimming complex for a leisurely swim or relax on the beautiful terrace!

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Great for golf, tennis, water sports, water park, fishing, walking holidays, rural/countryside retreats, beach or lakeside relaxation, cycling holidays, eating and sightseeing.


The beaches around Lagos are some of the most beautiful of the Algarve, like Praia de Dona Ana, which can be reached after a 30 minutes walk, Praia do Camilo, a bit further on, and Meia Praia, whose sands stretch for 4km East of Lagos. However, it is the promontory named Ponta da Piedade and sheltering the bay of Lagos which is most admired by visitors, with its caves, rocks and wonderfully transparent waters. North of Lagos, Barragem de Bravura is a water reservoir offering fine views.


Faro International is the nearest airport facilitated by numerous airlines. Car hire is recommended and Boavista Golf Resort is a 45 minute drive from the airport. However train/taxi service are also available. Please note that the A22 road tolls are now in operation, however, paying toll fees is still rather vague as each individual car hire company has their own way of handling these charges. So please check process of payment with whichever company you use when you collect your vehicle.


The historic town of Lagos is within 5 minutes drive of the apartment. Short drive to the local supermarket. The mountain town of Monchique is approx a 40 minute drive. Heading West the picturesque fishing villages of Salema and Burgau are a 15 minute drive. Sagres, the most South westerly point in continental Europe Cape St Vincent is around a 40 minute drive.
