Beautiful & well equipped home in central location
We stayed in this lovely cottage for 3 nights. The accommodation is excellent with a well equipped kitchen, lovely bedrooms and two log burning stoves. The cottage is in a very central location in Alnwick which made it very handy for eating out at night, literally a few minutes walk to the main street. The cottage was spotlessly clean and has some quirky period features. The owners, Rosemary and Roger were very friendly and helpful and we would love to stay there again.
The house is extremely well appointed, full of home from home features, and unlike a lot of rented cottages, furnished to a high standard and very comfortable with it.
Located a stone's throw from Alnwick Castle, on a quiet road, and a stroll into the attractive town, still full of local retailers. Northumberland is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, from the wide expanse of breathtaking coast, empty hills and valleys to roam, through to fascinating history.
Baileygate House is a gem: log fires, fully fitted kitchen, modern bathrooms, great beds, comfortable and warm; the best bit is putting the fire on in the evening and sitting with a glass of wine to unwind from modern stresses.
A holiday cottage gem in the heart of Alnwick
This cottage is very well equiped and tastefully decorated. The location is perfect for exploring Alnwick and the many delights of Northumberland. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Activity and Interests
Special interest holidays:

Frequent trains serve the east coast line, with Edinburgh 1 hour away, York 90 minutes and London in a little over 3 hours. Alnwick is 40 minutes north from Newcastle Airport and about the same from the Port of Tyne for European ferries.
Baileygate House is ideally located for those with an interest in exploring Northumberland's rich mix of activities. There are many historic castles and houses, gardens and heritage properties of significance within 20 minutes drive and the Roman wall is 50 minutes drive away. Northumberland's unsurpassed coastline with miles of sandy beaches and rocks is very close by and Alnwick itself is on the doorstep with the magnificent castle and gardens, market place, bustling shopping streets and one of the largest second-hand bookstores in the UK.
