About Matt

English chap with Italian heritage now living in Sardinia. I working in the wellbeing industry. Myself and my partner live on the grounds in a smaller villa that is away from the main house and pool. This annex can also be rented to larger groups at an additional fee if required. The annex also has a wonderful sea view and sleeps four, one double bedroom, kitchen, living room with large sofa bed, bathroom and sea view terrace for relaxing. Hidden amongst the gardens the annex is very private and has its own entrance and car park.

Matt purchased this villa in 2000

Why Matt chose Costa Smeralda

Here on Costa Smeralda in the north of Sardinia a warm to hot climate can be enjoyed almost all the year round. It's pristine white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and other worldly rock formations that surround the coastline make it a haven for the discerning traveler and jet set. Glamorous marinas with jaw dropping yachts, exquisite restaurants and stylish venues offer one insight, while close by, bohemian villages such as San Pantaleo offer a more laid back feel with everything from artisan markets, typical dining, live music, wine tasting, art galleries, superb hiking and scenic cycling routes. Yachts and sailing boats can be chartered to explore the beautiful islands that face our property for those that enjoy diving or private secluded coves and beaches.

Sardinia is one of five locations identified by the editors of InternationalLiving.com in a recent article on 'the healthiest places on earth to live'. Sardinia is a Blue Zone. Blue Zones are areas in the world that have been determined by scientists as places where the people live the longest.

What makes this villa unique

Our property sits on a stunning sea view costal plateau surrounded by forest, trees and rocks with no other properties looking over it. This offers our guests the privacy and tranquility to retreat away from the crowds but still be within minutes of all the bars, restauants, exclusive shopping, beaches and night life. Strategically located so you can reach all the key locations within a few minutes.

Look no further you can't better this fantastic secluded villa with spectacular sea views

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a week at Villa Feriana and miss it terribly. Immaculate, tastefully decorated and spotless, this villa was a real home-from-home from the moment we arrived. The layout and furnishings have been carefully thought through with numerous spaces to eat and relax, the addition of wifi and sky meant that during those rare moments that we needed to be in touch with the outside world, the means were available. Matt greeted us like we were family coming to stay - a few tips on the workings of the villa, some recommendations for local beaches, restaurants and walks and we were ready for the perfect week. It was difficult to motivate ourselves to leave this beautiful place and explore the local sites but when we did, Matt's recommendations were spot on. Still so much to explore - we are planning our return as soon as humanly possible! Our group of five aged between 14 and 54 enjoyed our long lazy days from sunrise over the mountains until our only daily appointment - with G&T's and San Pellegrinos at the end of the pool watching amazing sunsets over the bays of Costa Smeralda!

Thanks Matt and Villa Feriana for a memorable week, we hope to see you soon.

Owner's Response: Dear Merlyn It was a pleasure meeting you and I am delighted that your holiday here at villa Feriana was a memorable one. It is difficult to convey the full scope of the property from our twenty or so photos so your detailed comments are very much appreciated. Have a good rest of the summer and I look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Best wishes, Matt

Wow wow wow

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at this gorgeous villa with my family and baby girl (2.5 years old). The villa was immaculate very comfortable and luxurious. The views were amazing from the terrace. The villa was tranquil and serene but close enough to the cool places in Baia Sardinia and Porto Cuervo if you wanted. Our host Matt was so incredibly helpful and accomodating he escorted us to the villa even though we arrived as two separate parties. We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of prosecco and ehe even had coffee and tea for us. He took time to explain all the amenities and kitchen equipment. If we had any issues he was ready to attend to it within an hour or so. The pool was lovely and Matt cleaned it every other day. He was a great help and a mine of information for our trip. I couldn't recommend this villa or the host any more. I even left my wallet behind and he DHL it back to the UK. Really loved our stay.

Stunning! A luxury villa with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

I love it when the holiday and villa you book exceeds your expectations! This is down to the care Matt has taken with this beautiful place, his local knowledge and advice.

The high standard of decor, furnishings, thoughtful design and layout gave a real feel of luxury. It was quite simply exceptional.

Alway on hand to help, offer advice and give excellent recommendations, Matt was an amazing yet discrete host. Every recommendation was a hit, including: 10k run through amazing mountains, where to eat, sailing boat charter with Ricardo on the good ship - Fast Gold (utterly brilliant day out), wines to drink, beaches to swim at and local markets to visit. We even saw wild tortoises in the grounds of the villa; their land extends far beyond the property.

I love the fact it was situated in a private, rural location where you have to drive up winding, steep and sometimes unmade roads. You definitely get a massive 'whooooooo' as you drive into the property and get your first glimpse of the stunning sea views.

Car hire is essential from Olbia. Local supermarkets are easy to get to and we found the staff friendly and helpful.

I can't recommend Matt's Villa highly enough. I took Becky, our teenage sons and my parents. The boys loved it as well - pool was easily big and deep enough. Everything was really well maintained. The hammock area was also in high demand!

Inside the villa you have everything a family needs. Three bathrooms make life so much easier.

Thank you again to Matt. We had a fantastic holiday.

Time to book a trip back, I think...

Owner's Response: It was great meeting you and your family Alex and I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay so much. Even though there are many superb local attractions and places of beauty to roam and explore nearby, it's always a pleasure to hear from our guests that they enjoyed spending most of their time relaxing at the villa. Looking forward to having you back! Have a great summer.

Fantastic, the most beautiful sunsets

  • 5 of 5

One of the most beautiful villas we have ever stayed in. Firstly Matthew was very welcoming both prior to our arrival and incredibly helpful during our stay. Fantastic suggestions on places to visit and offering yoga / massage sessions as required at the villa.

There are so many positive things to say about this villa. Incredibly calming, the most beautiful, amazing sunsets, clean and well equipped house, glorious views, different spaces and terraces to have time alone or time together. The villa is very close to the most fantastic beaches and small towns yet set back from the busy scene to offer an extremely tranquil and relaxing holiday. Non stop sunshine with lots of places to sit in the shade if you prefer. There was aircon available but we didn't need it as there is a gentle breeze due to its location in the hills.

Supermarkets and a good selection of local shops nearby. Olbia airport is about 35 mins away, an easy and pleasant drive to the villa. We had three teenagers and a 2 1/2 year old with us in our family who all had a fantastic time. Just one thing to note if you have young children - the pool is well gated off from the main villa so we didn't have to worry that our son would be able to access to the pool unsupervised. The iron railings however have some large gaps in which may be an issue if you have an energetic younger crawling toddler - you may need to keep a close eye on them.

Thank you Matt for sharing your stunning home and positive energy. We can't wait to return.

A beautiful villa with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful villa that is clean, highly maintained and well equipped throughout. Its off the beaten track hilltop location offers amazing views and sunsets and it could of been all too easy to of never left the villa and just relaxed by the lovely pool our entire stay. Sam was really helpful throughout our stay at the villa, giving information on the Costa smeralda area and recommendations on some lovely beaches and restaurants. We loved our stay here would highly recommend it and would definitely go back.
