Le Peyretaillade is located between the village of St Cybranet and the beautiful Perigord village of Daglan. Close to the Dordogne river and valley, there is plenty to see and do in the local area - beautiful chateaux to visit, amble down the Dordogne river on a canoe, visit the famous market town of Sarlat, just 15 minutes from the house and enjoy the stunning local country side. The original house has been fully renovated and offers superior quality accommodation for those looking to rent a real home from home. The house is situated on large grounds with private heated pool - 5 x 10m and for your peace of mind this has an electric safety cover. Plenty of pool loungers are provided so you can relax and enjoy the pool area. The garden is well stocked with pretty plants and a lovely terrace at the front of the house has a large dining table - the perfect place to enjoy a barbecue. Barn with table tennis and a large field perfect for ball games. Local bike hire available and enjoy the peaceful cycle rides in the Ceou valley floor or for the more adventurous plenty of mountain biking routes or road cycling.

About the Owner

This lovely property was bought very much to be a home from home for our family and after 1 year of complete renovation work Le Peyretaillade is now a very comfortable place to base your stay in the Dordogne. We love the local area, beautiful scenery and pretty market towns which surround the village of St Cybranet. Every one that comes to visit seems to enjoy their stay and often return the next year!

Madame & Monsieur Martineau have looked after us very well and been really friendly with tips for the local events.

High qualit accommodation with style

This charming house house is really high quality, with great taste from its English owners who live here for part of every year. I suspect that's why it feels like a home away from home, and is much better furnished and equipped than your average holiday home.

We loved the secluded pool area, the pretty well tended gardens, excellent modern kitchen and that it has 4 ensuite good sized bedrooms.

The area is Beautiful! Camp site opposite ( which is well hidden) but has a small shop where we got bread etc every morning, lovely walks very close to the river, pretty villages, and chateaux's all within 5/20 mins drive.

After a long search we found this house and immediately fell in love with it. The house had not had any work done to it for at least 30 years so it gave us the opportunity to do a complete renovation and put our personal touch on it. We also added the pool and planted up the garden which did not have 1 plant in it when we bought it! We feel the local area has so much to offer, and there is something for every one, be it canoeing down the Dordogne river which is 10 minutes drive from the house, to visiting local chateaux and the wonderful Perigord market towns and villages. Being food lovers there are also some excellent restaurants close by! The house is located in the Ceou valley which is lined with walnut groves and is a very pretty area, lined with traditional villages and farm land.

Nearest airport - Bergerac is just over 1 hours drive from the house. Regular flights from UK (Ryan Air, Jet 2, FlyBe) Other options are to fly to Brive- 1 hours drive (Cityjet & Ryan air) Fly to Bordeaux ( EasyJet & BA), Limoges (Ryan Air) and Toulouse ( EasyJet & BA), all approximately 2-3 hours drive.


Nearest Villages- St Cybranet 1.5km and Daglan 4km. Sarlat is approx 15 minutes drive from St Cybranet, close to Chateaux of Castlenaud, Beynac and Milandes. Dordogne river 5km from the house with canoe hire available and pleasure boat tours.

Further Details:

Plenty of local restaurants within 5/10 minutes drive at St Cybranet, Daglan, Cenac & Castlenaud. Nearest shop is 2km at St Cybranet. Daglan is 4km and has small supermarket, boulangerie, deli, post office, Sunday morning market and the small market town of Cenac is 10 minutes away which has a supermarket, butchers, bread shops, bank, post office, chemist and weekly market on Tuesday morning. Canoe hire and bike hire close by.
