Villa in Nerja, Costa del Sol, Spain - Residential Area 15 Minutes Walk To The Beach And Town. Excellent Supermarket 10 Mins Walk

This is a beautiful typically Spanish Andalucian villa surrounded by private walled gardens. There are 3 bedrooms all with built in wardrobes. There is a shower room recently refurbished and a luxury house bathroom. The large lounge/dining room opens onto a lovely terrace for alfresco dining or the terrace below has a rustic style permanent BBQ to enjoy the balmy Spanish evenings. There is a large terrace around the swimming pool (unheated) with sun loungers and umbrella. The villa has a private gated entrance and is externally well lit. It is situated on the edge of Nerja. Granada is just 90 minutes away and 45 minutes from Malaga. This is a beautiful established villa with a private pool and large terraces. WiFi is available . The villa is well equipped, washer, fridge freezer microwave, fans, ipod docking station etc, The villa is looked after by a local company who are on hand to help with any problems or book excursions, airport taxis etc.

This has been our family holiday home for 30 years now,having visited Nerja and loved the town and surrounding area we had this villa built. I recently decided to let it as I don't find the time to visit as often as I would like but will never be allowed by the rest of the family to sell it!

There are lots of companies offering horse riding, off roading, walking, water park trips as well as excursions to Morocco, Granada, Seville and Ronda.

Malaga airport is just 45 mins drive. Granada is 90 mins drive. Frigiliana just 15mins drive. Excellent public transport, high speed trains from Malaga to Seville. Good local buses.

Distances:

15 minutes walk to town with all amenities. Pleasant walk passing restaurants, shops and parks.

Notes:
Outside: There are gardens all round the villa as well as a large terrace with built BBQ. There is a sheltered terrace off the lounge/dining room with a table and chairs. There are sun loungers and an umbrella by the pool. The pool has a gate and could be fastened off from the gardens. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen changed weekly included in the rental. Tea towels provided. Welcome pack may be ordered. Cots and high chairs can be provided, please ask. Other: Due to a change in service from ITV and BBC, these channels have been more complicated to receive. Most villas have the old system which will receive all of the free to air channels except BBC and ITV. At our villa you will have access to both systems!

Great Location, spectacular views

This property is spacious and well-maintained. The lounge is light and airy, as are the bedrooms. A nice feature of the main bedroom is that there is a door that leads directly onto the verandah. The kitchen is adequate although the wall cupboards are a little high and, as the cupboard drawers have no stops, they had a tendency to fall out!

The bathrooms are well decorated and clean. We did have problems getting enough hot water for showers as the boiler is powered by a gas bottle.

The outside of the villa is lovely with climbing flowers on the verandah, and an olive and orange tree in the garden.There are mesh screens on the windows to keep insects out plus decorative grilles, which makes the property very secure. There are 3 areas to eat outside; on the terrace by the barbecue or 2 sets of tables/chairs on the verandah.

We were unable to use the pool as much as we would have liked as it is quite deep (at least 1.5m), with no shallow end and no depth markings or life-saving equipment. Therefore, in our opinion, the pool is only suitable for experienced and/or confident swimmers. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool and a nice shady spot under a tree for total relaxation and maximum sun-bathing.

There was a problem with noise as a lot of construction work is taking place in the immediate area. The noise started from around 7.30am and went on intermittently until around 6.00pm, not what you want when you go away for a relaxing holiday! Once the noise had stopped, the area is very quiet and peaceful.

WiFi has to be paid for locally, which is not mentioned in the description and Sky TV was unavailable during our visit. However, there were plenty of books and a few DVDs to keep us occupied on the (very) rare occasions we stayed in.

Local shops and bars are a 10-minute walk away. A popular spot is Les Cuevas Bar (The Cave Bar) which serves good food. Another good restaurant is Portofino in the centre of Nerja, which serves Italian food and has a spectacular view of the Mediterranean. There are also 2 supermarkets nearby, Mercando and SuperSol (which has a better range of products).

The owners were extremely helpful even though they are based in the UK.

Despite the problems with noise and the pool we had a wonderful holiday and hope to return to Spain in the future.
