A luxury apartment- Butterfly (1 bedroom, Ref: Activity 6196AL) situated on the raised ground floor and with video entrance system in hallway with reinforced front entrance door and private underground parking. Lift from garage to all floors. Ramp at main entrance making it easier for wheelchairs. The apartment looks out towards the garden/play area. Butterfly has it's own very large patio off the kitchen, living room and bedroom(with a wall approx 1m high), furnished with comfortable table and chairs, sun loungers, umbrellas, mobile BBQ and pot plants. All patio doors have double locks and electronic shutters.

Perfect Paradise...

We have known Gwenn & Keith for a few years, having stayed in other apartments at Patio do Convento, but none of them equal their beautifully furnished and welcoming Butterfly apartment. You feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. It has everything you could wish for. Fully equipped kitchen, with everything too hand. The lounge is tastefully furnished with very comfortable seating. The wall furnishings are just amazing. There are two coffee tables that are very unusual. They are made of two large stone planters filled with stones and logs and glass tops. What you call 'top dog' design. The patio is huge and can be reached either from the kitchen or lounge and is a virtual suntrap. You get the sun from early morning until late in the evening. It has lovely colourful plants and bushes dotted around plus, there is a large glass topped table, four chairs and a large umbrella. There are four sunloungers so you can follow the sun as it moves across the patio. This apartment is all that you could wish for, a perfect home from home and more. On arrival there is a very good welcome pack.....tea, coffee, bread, butter, bottled beer and a very good bottle of Rosé. The supermarket Pingo Doce is just five minutes away and there are plenty of very good restaurants close by and also in Lagos centre. One of the best is Borsalinos which serves very good Italian food, it's about five minutes away, well worth trying.

We have been going to Lagos for the past eleven years and can both honestly say that out of all the apartments, in various places in Lagos and Patio do Convento, this is one of, if not the best apartment we have stayed in. Nothing is too much trouble for Gwenn, she'll do anything for you,she's a fountain of knowledge, and she goes that extra mile to make you feel at home. We would like to say a very big thank you to Gwenn & Keith for letting us stay at Butterfly and can't wait to come back next year. Love and best wishes. Maureen & David.x

Everything you could wish for!

Thanks Gwenn! What a fantastic apartment! We are frequent apartment renters - our preferred way to holiday. I often read that accommodation has "everything you could possibly want". On this occasion it was absolutely true!

The booking/organisation was easy and speedy. Gwenn responded quickly and replied to any queries ahead of arriving. Gwenn was on holiday when we were there so organised for a friend to check everything was okay for us.

The apartment is stylish and comfortable with furnishings I would be happy to have in my own home. As you walk in the door you notice the beginning of the amazing attention to detail. His and hers sun hats; umbrellas for beach and rain; trolley bag for supermarket shopping; beach bag. The kitchen has all necessary equipment including coffee maker and water filter- and then you discover the cool box and ice blocks for days out/at the beach! The TV has English channels and tons of movies. There were loads of clean towels for home and beach; books; games; inflatables for beach - basically really really everything you could wish for!

And then........the patio! Wow! It is huge and gets the sun all day in different areas. There are lots of gorgeous plants that make you feel like you have your own garden. The patio furniture is good quality and the BBQ is fabulous! Easy to use and easy to clean. We have holidayed in the apartment complex twice before and envied people staying here because of the outside space - but couldn't believe our luck when inside exceeded our expectations.

Thanks Gwenn. You will absolutely be our first choice for our next visit!

Amazing place

We've just returned from our month long holiday in Gwenn and Keith's fantastic apartment- our 3rd time there.The apartment is extremely comfortable and well equipped with a huge patio area where you can sunbathe all day.Gwenn and Keith are so friendly and helpful and Lagos is a great place to stay- there's lots to do but the town retains its historical character.The beautiful sandy 4km Meia Praia beach is a 20 minute walk away and there are lots of boat trips you can take from the marina.If you want to travel around,the Onda and Eva buses are on your doorstep and the train station a 10 minute walk.On a practical note,the excellent Pingo Doce supermarket is close by. Thank you so much to Gwenn and Keith for helping to make our stay so enjoyable.Look forward to seeing you next August for our next stay.

fantastic holiday

Hi my husband Tim and i just back from atwo wk stay in butterfly .Its our3rd time there and we've booked again .Firstly our host gwenn and her husband keith are the most helpful and considerate couple ever.gwenn went out of her way to help us when we needed support and could not do enough for us .The apartment next fantastic alarge patio with massive space and an apartment with every amenity you need for awonderful relaxing holiday .Icannot say enough good things not enough space.Once again gwenn and keith thanks and cant wait till next time.Linda and Tim.

What a find

We are a mature couple who have just returned from a holiday at this apartment. The apartment was amazing. The patio/terrace so spacious and private and all ours for two weeks. Every conceivable thing has been thought of for the use of the holidaymaker. We hardly moved as everything we needed was there. A very, very relaxing holiday. It is ideally situated, close to the bus station and about a five minute walk to the lovely town of Lagos and beaches. We would like to thank Gwenn for all her hard work and help, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back next year - we have already booked!

A little Gem

Butterflies is a little gem. Well positioned for most facilities; just a moment to a café and snack bar. Two supermarkets are 5 minutes away as is the Bus Station. With an Onda Bus card at 10 Euro, here is access to the whole town and many outlying seaside villages for 80 Cents per trip. Bars and restaurants are in abundance after just an interesting 10 minute stroll to the town, and then the charm of the many little streets and shops takes over.

A swimming pool is on site but if you fancy the beach try the 4Km+ stretch of sand just 15 minute walk, known as Meia Praia, or the restaurants and snack bars over the Cantilever bridge from the Avenida (Prom) to the Marina on your way. The Railway Station is there and the prices very reasonable. The charm of Lagos is that there is always plenty to do and see.

The apartment is ground floor with three doors to a very large interesting and secure L shaped patio with lots of scope. The outside furniture is very comfortable and there are two large sunshades if required. The building is modern and secure, and the rooms airy and well appointed. There is air conditioning/heating.

The owners have given much thought to the equipment provided. The lounge is comfortable and features a good sized Smart TV accessing British programs. A comfy easy chair and sofa provide the seating. Actually the sofa is a bed settee, but you would not know. There are plenty of books, DVD’s and a radio.

The bedroom with built in wardrobe boasts either 2 single beds or one double, or is it a triple! Very comfortable. The bathroom is just nice, and you will probably not need the heated floor.

A garage area under the block will take your hire car, with easy access to the apartment, and if you need help and advice the British owner is relatively close by, easily contactable, very friendly and helpful.

Butterflies makes a most pleasant, comfortable and easily managed base for a holiday, long or short. Just don’t book it when we want to go.

A very spacious 1 bedroom apartment. The location is fantastic. No need to hire a car. A short walk to town, marina, bus station, train station. Numerous restaurants/cafe`s/bars nearby. 3 fabulous beaches within 5mins - 30minutes walk.

Nearest Airport : Faro at 100 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Luis`s at 10 Metres Nearest Golf : Palmares or Boavista at 5 Kilometres Nearest Train : Lagos Station at 0.5 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A22 at 2 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Chef Artur at 50 Metres Nearest Beach : Town beach at 0.5 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Lagos town beach is approx 10 mins walk via the promenade. Meia Praia beach which is totally unspoilt is 6km long of golden sand is 15 mins walk or a few mins via the small ferry boat from the promenade. Donna Ana beach around the bay of Lagos is the most sheltered beach and is a good 25 mins walk along the cliffs or Porto Mos beach is a further 15 mins walk. All the beaches are a few mins drive or a ride on the local buses from the bus station which is a 2 mins walk from the apartment.

Travel:

Faro airport is the nearest airport. A 50 mins drive to Lagos. If you would like to see other areas around Lagos a new fleet of local buses can take you all over Lagos, outlying beaches and villages as far as Luz and Burgau for as little as 1 euro. We can assist /advise with travel arrangements if required regarding hire car, transfer bus or taxi.

Distances:

Within 20 mins drive from Lagos you can either be in the beautiful green countryside, in one of the many small villages, on one of the surfers paradise beaches or one of the many tranquil golden sandy beaches on the west coast, or up in the Monchique Mountains with the most fantastic views, shopping in Portamao and stopping for lunch on the harbour enjoying fresh sardines.

Lagos has everything and offers holiday makers beautiful sandy beaches, old cobbled streets, picturesque squares decked with cafe/bars, restaurants, shops and a Marina, and supermarkets and banks all nearby. With a wealth of entertainment to suit everybody. A spectacular coastline and over 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, the Western Algarve offers a perfect holiday destination.
