Panoramic Views of Mountains and Sea, 10 Minutes from Sandy Beach. 4 bed. 2 en suite

Bryntirion was recently refurbished at the end of 2011 due to a flood. The house has a nice size lounge and a seperate kitchen-diner both with huge panoramic windows to take full advantage of the sea views and the glorious mountains of Snowdonia. There are 4 bedrooms - 2 with en-suites, the master bedroom and the downstairs bedroom. There is also a family bathroom and a downstairs wc. Accessible from one of the bedrooms is a veranda, another hot spot for enjoying the mesmerising views.

Bryntirion has all the modern amenities one expects including comfortable memory foam mattresses throughout and King size Double beds. There are three powerful showers and one full size bath. Each double bedroom has an LED TV over the bed with a memory stick with a variety of recent films. A games console and surround sound system is situated in the lounge along with a full book case.

The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, dual oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The laundry room has a washing machine, tumble drier and extra fridge.

Bryntirion is nestled within a third of an acre of mature peaceful gardens that are abundant with visiting wild birds. Whilst enjoying the gardens the gentle sound of the Arthog falls can be heard. The Falls are just a 3 minute walk , which are definitely worth a look.

The Arthog side of the estuary is the more peaceful side with Barmouth easily accessed by walking part of the Mawdach trail across the picturesque Barmouth bridge.

Excellent Holiday Rental

My family and I booked Bryntirion for a week at the end of August. From the moment we stepped inside the property we knew we'd picked a gem of a property. It's a true home from home expect the views from Bryntirion win over the views from my own home! The place was immaculate with everything provided to make our stay comfortable, the owner even took the liberty to leave a USB stick with some great films for our entertainment. The gardens surrounding the property were just beautiful and very inviting, especially for the birds which we kept well fed for the owner. Our kids especially enjoyed exploring the grounds.

As for the general area, there is a fantastic lake within 5 minutes from the property and I must say the drive to it was an experience but well worth it! There is a excellent place to eat called 'George the third' a short drive away which served delicious food and reasonably priced. It's obviously popular as it was very lively but I must say you are unable to book a table therefore get there early to ensure you get seated.

Barmouth beach is around a 20 minute drive if you use the toll bridge. It's a lovely, clean sandy beach and very family friendly. We spent a couple of fun filled days there and enjoyed it very much.

Overall our holiday at Bryntirion was brilliant, I would highly recommend this property and we will certainly be returning in the future.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Barpub : George The Third Hotel at 4 Miles Nearest Train : Fairborne at 2 Miles Nearest Beach : Fairbourne at 2 Miles Car: necessary


The lovely sandy beach of Fairborn is only 2 miles from the house and is also home to the Fairborn Narrow Gauge Steam Railway. This runs for 2 miles along the coast where at the end of the line you can catch a passenger ferry across the estuary to Barmouth.


Use of a car is recommended however there are some extremely enjoyable walks straight from the house. The idyllic Arthog Falls are only three minutes walk away and can be used as a starting point to numerous walks. There is also a very scenic cycle track to get you by bike to either Dolgellau or Barmouth. Cycles can be hired nearby.


Fairbourne is the nearest village which is just a 5 minute drive. The quaint little market town of Dolgellau is slightly further afield and Barmouth is a 11 mile drive around the beautiful Mawddach estuary.

Further Details:

Fairbourne is home to a Spar shop, as well as a local butchers and green grocers for more fresh produce. The next nearest supermarket is the Co op in Dolgellau, about 12 minutes drive from the house.

Barmouth has a variety of seaside shops and arcades for family amusement. The nicest way to get there is to cycle or walk the Mawddach trail with passes in front of the house and travels across the picturesque Barmouth bridge. This takes you over the estuary straight into Barmouth. Another option is to catch the 'normal' train from Fairbourne, again crossing the beautiful Barmouth bridge. The same train can be used to travel to Portmadoc where the Ffestiniog and Highland Steam railways can be used for a more romantic day out.

Along with the nearby George Pub right at the entrance to the toll bridge there are some very nice restaurants; The Bwyty Mawddach Restaurant and The Cross Foxes.

Other places of interest are numerous and include the Talyllyn Railway, The Corris Craft Centre, Dolgoch Falls and the hidden Blue Lagoon. These are just a few of the things available in the area.

Snowdonia National Park is packed with many actractions such as the mile long Zip lines, the Surf Park and Bounce Below.

Walking and cycling is in abundace with both available from Bryntirion's gate.

Booking Notes:
Full payment is due 2 weeks prior to your arrival date. A 10% deposit is taken upfront to confirm the booking. Bookings taken less than 2 weeks before the arrival date will be required to pay 100% of the fee at the time of booking. An extra £300 security fee is charged to cover damages. This is fully refundable upon inspection of the property after guest departure.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is preferable Saturday, however this is flexible. Check in time is after 5pm and checkout time is 11am.

Notes on prices:
School and bank holidays such as Easter and half term breaks are chargeable at the peak season price of just £849 for up to eight people. Discount given for longer stays.

Non-school holiday times, Mon-Fri rental is £395 for up to 6 people. Further discount applicable for less than 4 people.
Friday to Monday Chill Outs weekends can also be booked for as little as £395.

  • Notes on accommodation: The property is cleaned before and after your stay, but not during. All cleaning products are provided for general use throughout your stay. Outside: The house is situated on 3/4 of an acre of mature (private) garden with 4 reasonably sized lawns. There is a picnic bench on the patio near the barbecue, and also some sun loungers, as well as another picnic bench on the sun veranda accessible from one of the bedrooms. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is charged at £25 per king size bed & £15 per single bed. This includes all bed linen & bath towels, but not beach towels. If you want to bring your own bedding but do not have king size covers, double duvets can be provided.
