About the Owner

Grant and Joanne Parker moved to Estepona after living in London for 10 years. Grant worked in advertising/publishing and Joanne was in Hotel Management. After being in London for a few years, we decided to go on and adventure and went travelling around Asia and Australia. Joanne's parents already lived in Estepona so it seemed a good idea to try living in Spain as the idea of being back in London wasn't appealing! We arrived with £40 and back packs and quickly got on with life. Joanne went into property sales and Grant into managing a radio station. We saw the plot for Ifield House and a local builder had the plans already drawn up so we went for it. The house is our dream and we've loved living here, but since having children, we've decided to move back to the UK and now live in Somerset

Thank you very much for the bottle of champagne! There is no need to apologise as these things go wrong in our house all the time (and often all at the same time!), we didn’t mind one bit. John was always very kind and understanding when we had to contact him and he responded so quickly – a real gem!

We are home now and reflecting on what a fabulous holiday we all had. Your house is so lovely, especially the pool. I love the attention to detail you have put into the rooms, bathrooms, the showers are ace!

We enjoyed playing your cd’s that were definitely more our era than the kids through the dvd player. Thank you for leaving backgammon, there was great family rivalry all week also Sky TV was fab on the rainy days. We used the cool box every day with the ice packs – such a good idea to provide these things.

Finally, I think the view from the terraces will live with us forever, utterly stunning!!!

I hope the rest of the season goes well for you.

Stunning, homely and excellent service

  • 5 of 5

Had a great stay at this beautiful villa, perfect for our grown up family with plenty of accommodation and excellent for family meals. Pool was superb.

Service from both the owners and the property manager, John, was great and any the small issues (not the fault of the villa or owners) were resolved quickly and had all the help we needed.

Location is excellent with lovely local beaches the are not too touristy! Would return in a heartbeat. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely home.

The Philipson Family, Preston.

Thank you for our stay at your lovely villa

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Ifield house, the villa is set in a lovely quite location. It’s ideal, away from the crowds, but only a 10 minute drive into Estepona.

The swimming pool was fantastic it gets the sun from midday right up until it sets in the evening. We made good use of the lovely terrace to sit out in the evening with a glass or two of wine, enjoying the unspoilt views.

Everything we needed had been thought of and the villa felt like a real home (sadly not ours!).

John, the local manager, was very helpful with recommendations of places to visit and where’s good to eat. Our most memorable evening was at the very picturesque village of Benhavis, plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Estepona Old Town and the port are both lovely with a huge selection of restaurants to chose from.

We did manage to drag ourselves away from this immaculate villa on some excursions out; Marbella old town was very nice, a day in Rhonda was an experience we won’t forget. A day trip to Gibraltar was within easy reach. We decided to park in the carpark and walk over the border as the traffic gets very busy queuing in the mornings! Highly recommend lunch at The Little Rock restaurant in Gibraltar town.

A truly memorable holiday and hopefully we will return soon!

The Perfect House

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautifully, perfect located, well equipped and the pool makes the house just perfect.

Each bedroom has its own bathroom and a terrace.

Additionally there is a terrace close to the leaving room and one close to the kitchen, so you can have a breakfast or a dinner with a beautiful view. The kitchen is perfect equipped with dish-washer, espresso coffee maker, toaster, spices, oil, tea and all the stuff you need for cooking.

The pool is deep and clean and nobody is watching or hearing you.

The bars on the beach close to the house with pool look also great.

The house is also perfect located for trips to Gibraltar, Ronda, Malaga, Marbella.

Estepona is also a very cute city, which you should definitely visit.

I’ve spent in the house a lovely week with my family.

Thank you Jo!!!!

Best Villa yet

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 2 weeks in this lovely villa. The information of the property and directions to the rendevous point were straightforward. The same time last year we stayed in another villa a short distance away so we knew the area. We met John at the local BP garage and we followed him to the villa and he made sure we were okay. The villa is on 3 levels which we found a good way of keeping fit! The pool was cool but we still made use of it everyday - probably one of the best villa pools we've been in. The sunbeds were of excellent quality. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed and the gas hob was a godsend - hate those conduction hobs! The 2nd fridge on the second level was a bonus as it was cooler so we kept the beers and champers in there! All the terraces were amazing for comfort and views. The washing machine took some working out on how to use it as there were no instructions but we managed. The lounge was very comfortable and the TV channels few but enough - its good to miss the soaps every now and then! The lack of aircon was not a problem but this was Sep/Oct so I would imaging the summer months would be pretty hot. A local information book would have been useful for those people who had never visited the area before. I would recommend this villa - the best we've stayed in and we've stayed in a few!

A relaxing holiday in a fantastic villa

  • 5 of 5

Dear Grant and Jo,

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely villa. The house is beautifull and really feels more like a home (or boutique hotel!) than the places we've stayed in before. Our children loved the pool, and we really didn't want to do much more than laze about, cook food and drink wine.

When we did venture out, we found Estepona charming. We loved the old cobbled streets and the Marina. We also found Cristo beach great for the children and the beach bar was fab.

We are sad to be back in the UK now, but have the memories of our holiday to keep us going untill we return next year!

An amazing villa

  • 5 of 5

Dear Grant and Jo, We feel very privileged to have stayed in your gorgeous house. The weather was fantastic despite it being October, and we swam in the pool every day. We loved the fact the house is so peacefull and you have furnished it so nicely, that we didn't really venture out much. We both have very busy jobs and this was the perfect place to relax. The views of the mountains were stunning and the sunsets will stay in my mind for a very long time! Estepona is a lovely town. So clean and safe. We enjoyed walking on the seafront and found some really good restaurants on your recommendation. I hope we can come back again one day.

From the Owner

We love Estepona. It's a great mix of traditional Spain mixed with some Northern European influences. There are local residents coming from the UK, Netherlands, Scandinavia and Germany. Although it is popular as a tourist destination, it's not overrun with them. There is life in the port and backstreets but it's never rowdy. Ifield House is a passion for us as we built it from scratch. We chose every tile, tap and toilet! We lived there for 6 years until we decided to move back to the UK. This was mainly because we have young children and wanted to be closer to our old friends and family. I love it when people first walk in the front door of the house with new arrivals. Most people look round in amazement. One younger guest described it as something from MTV cribs!

From the Owner

Ifield House is a home away from home. As we lived there, the kitchen is really well stocked. There's always the essentials like olive oil, tea, coffee etc. The furniture is not like a usual rental property and we have left behind plenty of books to read. We have also left quite a few toys, 2 cots and a high chair. The house is lovely and peaceful and there are no immediate neighbours. It's a short drive to the beach- about 4 minutes to a great beach club. We love the peace and quiet. Sitting on the terrace and watching the sun going down over the mountain or listening to sound of goats bells as the herd takes them across the valley. I also loved sitting in bed with a cup of tea as the sun rose. It's a bit like looking at Ayres Rock!
