Peaceful location in village, 3 minutes walk from shops and restaurants, no hills to climb, no busy roads to negotiate. Stunning views from ground floor and roof top terraces. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, (incl one en-suite in separate downstairs 'casita' a self-contained unit with a double bed and clothes space). Ground floor open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room. Original working fireplace in dining area, wood burner in lounge, also full central heating. All mod cons in kitchen. State of the art sound system and telly (no Sky TV). Wi-Fi installed for visiting laptops. Outside wood store and cellar room with freezer and washing machine. Many tasteful, original pieces from shower bases and fittings to furnishings and drapery. We’ll leave a welcome pack for your arrival and the rest is up to you. Climb the mountains, explore the Island, walk 20 mins (or drive 5 mins) to the Cala, (local beach/inlet, too picturesque for words), try the restaurants, light some candles, above all, enjoy.

Activity and Interests
The local 'cala' (cove), really is too picturesque for words. You can walk there in 20 mins along the recommended path, through olive groves and terraces. The walk back takes longer as its mostly up hill! Or you can use the road which takes about the same time. By car it takes about 5 mins. There are two restaurants at the Cala, the upper one serves great food and the lower one is more 'snacky'. The cove has a small pebble beach and is suitable for snorkeling and fishing off the rocks.
Nearest airport is Palma and is about 40/45 minutes away. A cab costs about 45/50 euros. Unless you do not want to go far, a car really is recommended. If your arrival time allows, go to the Palma Carrefour supermarket en-route (from the airport), to stock up on basics. Once outside Palma, the roads are generally quiet and driving can actually be a pleasure. The other main shopping/visit-worthy depot is in Soller, about 20 minutes away along a road with great views of the sea and the mountains.
The house is actually in the village and although only a few minutes from the main thoroughfare, is really peaceful. A good guide book will give you locations and distances to the nearest places of interest
There are two general purpose stores, 3 good bars (Sa Fonda, good fun, good people, good music and good snacks), Al Bar (good food, good wi-fi connection, nice people), and Sa Font Fresca, (best lunch, best value, and great service). There are also some outstanding restaurants, all within 5 mins, incl the famous Tapas (Zellini's). There are 2 banks with ATMs and some really good artisan shops. The pharmacy is right on the main street too. Local prices can be a bit higher than supermarkets. The bus services to Soller and Palma are reliable, frequent and cheap, and save on parking and driving. Walks can vary from easy to pretty extreme, but there is something to suit everyone.

- Notes on accommodation: The 1st middle floor bedroom was especially constructed with children in mind. There is a double bed (with underneath storage), and above this is another double bed accessed by a small stairway. Our children used this top bed as a den, and usually slept in it! Out of the hot season, the log fire and the wood-burner keep the house warm; even without using the central heating. The whole interior was designed to be flowing and organic and to preserve as much of the old Deia as possible. This makes the house unique and a joy to stay in. Outside: Outside the front door there is a riverstone area which extends to the patio, with amazing views of the mountains. A table and chairs and a chaise lounge, together with a traditional stone bench provides outdoor sitting and dining space. Its easier to see the structure in the photos we've added. Utility Room: Freezer and washing machine, iron, ironing board, clothes dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Other: Dining area is integral to the kitchen as is traditional in these houses. Original working fireplace beside dining table and chairs and window side built in settee. Outside terrace with table and chairs and large chaise-lounge.
