Three bedroom modern detached villa with secluded private over flow pool, pool side shower, pool side covered BBQ area with sink and fridge etc, sun loungers, sun shades, external lighting to terraces, pool and surroundings, secluded landscaped gardens, off street parking for two vehicles. Large terraces front and rear. Air-conditioning. About Dogay

I am of Turkish Cypriot origin having immigrated to the UK some 30 years or so ago. In the UK I am a builder by trade.

Why Dogay chose Lapta

The property was not bought but designed and built to my specifications by builder friends of mine resident in Cyprus as a family home to return to one day. I have added various touches to differentiate it from other properties such as a curved glass sided staircase, french doors on opposite sides of the lounge for mountain breezes in the morning and sea breezes in the evening. The villa is fully detached for privacy and in subsequent years I have added various improvements the overflow swimming pool, and in January 2010 a covered poolside BBQ area with power and water. The villa is nestled between the back drop of the mountains to the rear and the sea view to the front.

What makes this villa unique

The large pool is professionally managed by a specialist company with two visits a week in the summer. Normal daily checks are carried out by one regular English speaking maintenance man, this can be altered for guests comfort and is also available via phone for other instances on demand. Off street parking at front of villa for two cars.

This is charged at cost per KW/Hr from direct meter readings at start and end of let payable locally to caretaker. Smoking is not permitted within the villa (outside only). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is provided for all beds, Linen change is provided weekly. Towels are also supplied per let. Maid service is avaliable at extra cost. Caretaker for gardens and pool top up is included. Other: There is a very spacious front terrace with sofa bed (can be moved inside for additional sleeping), rear terrace with stone table. Rotary clothes airer.

Secluded and relaxing villa with great pool

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in mid-July. The owner, Dogay, was extremely helpful, answering all of our queries very promptly and also organised a taxi to and from the airport and a hire car for us to use during our stay. It was also very nice to be given a welcome pack of basic groceries to get us started (eggs, bread, milk, Efes bier etc.) on our arrival by Hussain. The villa location was excellent, the views of the mountains and the sea were fantastic. The large pool was well maintained and we enjoyed the fact that it was so secluded. We enjoyed using the pool table in the living room and also used the DVD player most evenings, the only downside being the lack of aircon downstairs which would have been useful during our stay when the evening temperatures rarely dropped below 30˚C, however, this may not be such a problem during cooler times of the year. We had an initial issue with cleanliness which the owner has apologised for and therefore hope should not be a problem in the future. There are some lovely restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away, our favourites were the Hanimeller Cypriot restaurant and the Veni Vici Italian restaurant both of which had great service and excellent food. The cost of eating out was much cheaper than in the UK. There is also an amazing cinema about 15mins drive away, the Starlux, which had the best cinema seating I’ve ever had the pleasure of using and also had its own restaurant serving fantastic reasonably-priced food, all in a beautifully cool air-conditioned environment, and at a fraction of UK prices. The Lapta coastal path is only a short walk from the villa and I used it for an early morning jog and it provided lovely views of the sun rising over the sea. We visited Kyrenia and Guzelyurt which are a short drive away and also Nicosia which is a bit further away.

I would recommend this villa to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday who enjoys their own pool and likes to eat out in very reasonably-priced restaurants. Northern Cyprus seems to provide very good value for money and is relatively unspoiled compared to some of the gaudy, commercialised tourist resorts in Southern Cyprus.

Perfect villa and perfect hosts

Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect. We were three friends and had a very good vacation, special thanks to the hosts... The villa is very clean, comfortable and peaceful, especially the pool and poolside... Very good choice for some chilling, don't hesitate to book!

We booked a 3 week stay for a home from home experience and was not disappointed.

On arrival we met with Hussein, very lovely man who provided us with milk, butter, cheese and eggs and also gave us home picked fruit - a lovely gesture!

We were a 5 minute drive from the beach, bars and restaurants.

Everything that we could have needed was within the villa.

Would definitely book another visit to this visit.

The owner has been fantastic throughout the booking and kept us up to date from start to finish.

Was very impressed at being trusted within his property.

Great family holiday

Many thanks for letting us hire your villa, we had an excellent time recharging our batteries and never left the pool. Lovely quiet area there is a football park down the way but couldn't hear it, the villa had everything we needed down to pegs on the washing line and dvds and iPod docking station for the kids would def use again :) Excellent value for money.

Car: recommended


There are many sandy beaches along the coast of Northern Cyprus with the nearest only a 5 min drive away. The beautiful waters of the Mediterranean are perfect for swimming, water sports and diving. The turtle conservation project can be visited during the summer months. Speedboat trips and water skiing are less than 10 mins drive.


There are frequent flights from many UK airports to both Ercan and Larnaca. Transfer from Ercan is approx 45 mins and from Larnaca 1 hour 30 minutes (border controls permitting). Private pick up and drop off can be arranged as well as a taxi service from the airports.


Lapta is a 20 mins drive from Kyrenia and less than an hour from Lefkosa (Nicosia). The beautiful village of Bellapais with its Abbey and stunning views of Kyrenia is a 30 min drive as is the mountain castle (ruin) of St Hilarion.

Further Details:

Local shops provide all day to day requirements and well stocked supermarkets (with most UK brands) can be found on the main road to Kyrenia. Local restaurants serve local and European dishes and even fish and chips! French, Italian, Indian and Chinese cuisine are all available. Bars with satellite TV showing Sky Sports are within a short drive and Casinos can be found locally and in Kyrenia. Although Banks are located in Kyrenia ATM's are available in the village of Kargoglanoglu. Menus are always in English and many restaurants will accept Sterling. English is widely spoken, you drive on the left and all you electrical appliances can be plugged into the standard three pin UK sockets.
