It is within the popular Waves development located just a stone's throw from the fantastic beach at Watergate Bay. It offers beachside living with a laid-back, contemporary feel. The beach is famous for its sheer size and grandeur with almost three miles of perfect sand at low tide. This is one of Cornwall's most contemporary destinations, with exceptional facilities including the Extreme Academy which offers a great range of adrenaline sports, Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Fifteen Cornwall and the legendary Beach Hut. Throughout the year, a wide range of events are held in the bay, from surf competitions to beach polo as well as family fun days.

Notes on accommodation: The property has underfloor heating throughout. Suitable for children. Outside: The apartment has it's own private south facing balcony with table and 4 chairs. All guests also have use of the landscaped communal gardens at the rear of the property ideal for large groups/family dinning. Outside the apartment, there is a surf shower to rinse off in after a day at the beach and a useful secure storage cage in the basement for your surfboards, wetsuits and beach toys. The property has an allocated parking space for one car. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen (Indian cotton) and towels are included. The property is cleaned weekly. Please bring your own beach towels. Other: Entrance hall with plenty of storage space.

Lovely clean apartment.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Furniture, fittings, and equipment were all of a high standard. Dedicated parking space was a real bonus.

We loved the local restaurants. Nice walk to Newquay along the cliff top and, as it stopped outside, we caught the local bus into Padstow.

All in all a lovely short break and we would definitely go to Watergate Bay again.

Perfect coastal get away

We had a great stay! The photos don't really do the apartment justice. The balcony is large and you can see and hear the sea from the comfort of the 2 comfy chairs on the balcony. The views cover the opposite hillside and look down towards Watergate bay & the sea. You also have the same view from the bedroom.

Excellent shower. Well equipped kitchen. The apartment was clean and had everything you could need, including a washer / dryer, ironing board. Comfortable lounge and large bedroom with comfy bed. It is on the 1st floor with a dedicated parking space and easy access in and out of the building. Very comfortable for 2 people. A real home from home.

I liked the fact that we could arrive late at night as access is provided through coded boxes. This meant we could arrive late without feeling someone was waiting up to let us in.

In Watergate Bay there are a few places to eat and a few surf shops down by the beach. Waves bar (right next to the apartment) was excellent for food & drinks. Jamie Oliver's 15 restaurant was also excellent - recommended for breakfast as well as dinner. The coastal path is a few minutes from the apartment and it takes you along the cliff tops in either direction. Its a lovely walk to Newquay along the coast path, takes a couple of hours with stops along the way to visit tiny rocky beaches.

The only slight negative was wifi access: you need to buy a daily or weekly pass from BT Fon (about £6 per day) but be warned this is very slow and not worth the money. Dont let this put you off, it was quite nice not having internet access for a few days plus all the bars and restaurants we visited had free wifi so we still got our daily fix of facebook.

Watergate bay itself is a busy place, even in February, and we found the busy road running through the village a bit of an annoyance. Saying that, coming home to the apartment each day was a real treat and we would have no hesitation staying again.

just perfect

we stayed for 4 nights.the apartment was spotless and very well equipped .we loved the balcony with delightful views of the sea . it is a little sun trap to enjoy the afternoon /evening sun.the apartment is very close to nice restaurants and there are great cliff walks to.we would highly recommend it.

Eine schöne Ferienwohnung

Die Wohnung ist zweckmäßig und angenehm eingerichtet. Der Balkon ist bei schönem Wetter gut zu nutzen und die Aussicht auf die Bucht ist sehr schön. Der einzige Minuspunkt war die in unseren Augen geringe Reinigung der Böden besonders im Badezimmer.

Less than 1 minute walk to the beach. Popular all year round to surfers and families who come to enjoy the surf and the large clean sandy beach. Access to the stunning North Cornwall coastal path above the cliffs.

Watergate Bay is conveniently located only 5 minutes from Newquay Airport (but you will not be aware of it!)

Watergate Bay is located on a spectacular part of Cornwall's Atlantic coast, conveniently located between Padstow (10 miles) and Newquay (4 miles).

Watergate Bay offers 4 superb restaurants including the renowned Fifteen Cornwall rated as one of the ‘Top Five Beachside Restaurants in the World’. If you just fancy some fish and chips and a pint then settle back at the Phoenix pub and enjoy one of their live bands.

Nearby sights include The Eden Project near St Austell, Rick Stein's Padstow restaurants and natural wonders, such as Bedruthan Steps, Gurnards Head and Kynance Cove.

Booking Notes:
To book please check availability on the site, then simply send an email or telephone us. Once dates are confirmed, 50% of rent is payable. We accept payment by bank transfer. The remaining 50% plus a cautionary deposit of £70 is due 6 weeks before arrival. For bookings arriving within 6 weeks, payment must be made in full. We will then send property and service agent details, where to obtain keys and important information to make your stay go smoothly.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday. Departure is by 10am and arrival any time after 4:00pm, maybe earlier please call the property manager to see if an earlier arrival is possible.

Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
