Villa in Porto de Mos, Western Algarve, Portugal - 5 Minutes Walk To The Beach, 5 Minute Drive To Nearest Golf Course

Completed in May 2009, this luxurious villa is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac adjacent to the conservation area. The villa has all the amenities you might require for cooking, dining, entertaining or just relaxing by the pool. With a large lounge and Kitchen, 4 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and balconies to each bedroom the Villa is very spacious weather relaxing, entertaining, or sleeping. The large pool is not overlooked which allows very private swimming. The steps to the shallow end assists small children and the elderly to enter and exit the pool. Every room has it's own air conditioning unit which can be set to cooling or heating as desired. The bedroom balconies provide for private relaxation away from the main party of Guests should you do desire. Being at the end of the cul-de-sac and with only a few Villas on the avenue means no passing traffic or revellers and no constant noisy car door banging to disturb your sleep

A lovely villa

Great holiday but confirm you do need a car. The two local restaurants are within an easy walk down but quite a steep hill back. Shops are a trek. With a car a few mins. We only hired on arrival after quickly realising we needed and possibly paid a higher price. Pool heating was a bonus. Made all the difference. Villa is of a good size and well laid out. The area is nice . There is a fair amount of local construction but sufficiently away not to disturb. I think the local area could benefit from at least a convenience store. Lagos is a lovely resort. 5 mins in a car. Take the direct route straight over the roundabout at the bottom of the main road to the villa over a set of traffic lights and another roundabout and a multi storey left at the next roundabout and then just a few mins to numerous restaurants. Overall a lovely holiday.

Local manager a gem and would recommend transfers through her.

Wonderful Holiday in Super Setting

There was a degree of trepidation when booking a holiday via Owners Direct costing this much when there has been so much bad press of late. We did it and I am pleased to report that we had a wonderful time here. The location is perfect but you do need a car as the shops are certainly not within walking distance particularly in the heat that we had. The owners will recommend a car hire company and also a very good executive taxi service both of which we used. The place was spotless and well described with a super pool which was attended to on a regular basis and left in pristine condition. The beds were extremely comfortable and all the more so given the efficient aircon throughout the place. This is a holiday let - surrounded by holiday lets and the local manager who was very efficient and helpful mananages several properties around the area. I would highly recommend this property and my only criticism would be the booking process which could be slicker and I feel would benefit from being handed over to the local manager as after all it is a business not someone's home that they let out for the odd week.

A great holiday and if you go I am sure you will enjoy it.

Having scoured Portugal we decided on this Villa as we wanted somewhere close enough to all amenities but also quiet and secluded for some peace and quiet. We wanted to be close to the beach as we enjoy leisurely walks on the sea front and dining watching the sea in the evening

Activity and Interests

Nearest Golf : Boa de Vista at 1.8 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Antonio's, Camp du Mar at 300 Metres Nearest Beach : Porto De Mos at 300 Metres Car: not necessary


The beach is only a 5 minute walk from the villa and known as one of the best beaches in the Algarve. You can hire Parasols and sunbeds. Porto Mos beach is the height of activity with various water sports including scuba diving, jet skis, and other sports. Beach restaurants serving local and international cuisine are a must to visit. Nearby Meia Praia beach provides over 5km of lovely sandy beach with even more sporting activities going on.


Faro international airport is only 80km away which is only 45 minutes. There are many car rental firms at the airport to choose from. A new bus service means there are buses every 20 minutes. The local train station is at the back of the marina and only 2km drive and which services the whole Algarve and Portugal. Taxis are abundant but airport transfers should be booked in advance. Motorway links are just 1km from the villa.


The beach is around 500 metres and there are two restaurants directly adjacent to the beach. The supermarket and private hospital 1km. Centre of Lagos 2km. Formula 1 race track 15 mins. Portimao 20 mins which includes the cruise liner terminal and World Beach Soccer. Slide and Splash 20 mins.

Lagos town centre is steeped in history and the old castle walls are still standing and evidence the historic slave trade market. Lagos is the third largest town in the Algarve and offers all the trappings you'd expect from a thriving tourist area including cafe bars, restaurants, museums, shopping etc. And for those who like the night life the bars are open until the small hours of the morning. For those who enjoy their food the restaurants serve superb local dishes and international cuisine and there is a sense of honour amongst the restaurants to serve the finest dishes. The towns new marina shows how the town has encouraged development in modern times and, with the new frontage around the castle walls and underground car park, it shows the towns commitment to the tourist. The main parts of the town have not lost their tradition and the cobbled streets are lined with designer shops. There are plenty of activities whatever your pleasure; Dolphin watching, fishing, cycling, surfing, scuba diving, horse riding, mountain biking, walking, tennis, golf, football, water skiing, water theme parks (3), bird watching, swimming, bowling, cinemas, paragliding, helicopter rides, deep sea fishing, quad biking, tennis, wind carting, kite flying, boat rides and much much more. Lagos isn't far away from Sagres, which is also steeped in history as Christopher Columbus named it, ‘The end of the world’. At the close by Boavista Championship course golf resort, and Parque de Floresta nearby, there is a superb football school run by ex professional footballer Mark McCarrick.

The Villa is very modern with all the creature comforts one needs. We chose the most private Villa on the complex as we prefer not to be overlooked whilst relaxing or dining by the pool. It's lovely to walk down to the beach in the evening and dine whilst watching the sea, and we don't have to bother with taxi's just because we've had a drink. Stuart is a keen golfer so with a course almost on our doorstep it's very convenient. There is so much to do in the Algarve, for kids or adults, all round we decided it was the perfect place and it's proved to be just that

  • Notes on accommodation: The villa is fully air-conditioned for heating and cooling with individual units per room controlled by remote controllers. The lounge has a wood burning stove. Upstairs bedrooms each have a private balcony terrace. All showers are as hot and powerful as you could wish for. A book exchange provides ample reading. Swap books you've read for another. (Hard backs must not be removed). Pets are welcome subject to owners discretion. Smoking is not allowed inside the villa but is allowed outside and on balconies. Outside: The villa is surrounded by landscaped gardens and walled to the perimeter. Electric personal and drive gates can be opened by remote, or using the internal video intercom. The pool is 10 x 5m with steps at one end and a shower nearby. A patio set with 6 recliner chairs provides external dining and there is a further 6 recline/sun lounger style chairs available. The sitting room furniture can be taken outside if required. Utility Room: Provides storage of additional chairs, pool toys, cleaning facilities, picnic basket, coolbox, etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels (not beach towels) and luxury bedlinen are included. Fresh linen/towels are provided on arrival and weekly thereafter. Maid service is available daily or at requested intervals, at an additional charge. Other: Hall, landing and landing terrace.
