Updated: 30-Sep-2016
Villa in Kisla, Kalkan, Antalya, Turqoise Coast, Mediterranean Region,Turkey - Peaceful location, 3 min. gentle walk to the sea, Beach Clubs and restaurants, Water Taxi to Kalkan

Villa Bella is a modern, two bedroom two bathroom villa in Kisla, a popular peaceful area of Kalkan. A fantastic location just metres from the sea. A complete home from home, ideal for small families, couples or friends holidaying together. The villa has the most fantastic sea views across the bay and offers many vantage points from where to enjoy them, including the pool terrace and balconies. The identical neighbouring villa was featured in 'The Times 20 Best Seaside Villas in Europe'.

Villa Bella sleeps 4 in one double and one twin bedroom both with an en-suite bathroom. The Villa is extremely well equipped with the best quality fixtures, fittings and furniture. It offers a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge complete with 40" LCD Smart TV with international news and sports channels. A DVD player and a Radio/CD player are also available. There is a good selection of books and DVDs, but you can bring your own tablet/I-pad and HDMI cable for unlimited possibilities. Other amenities include air-con throughout, free unlimited wireless internet access, telephone for free local calls and to receive calls (from abroad), washing machine, dishwasher and hair dryer.

Surrounded by fruit and palm trees in intimate gardens the pool terrace with sunbeds, shaded seating, alfresco dining and BBQ areas makes an excellent place to relax in, spot the odd dolphin or turtle, or just enjoy the wooden gullet boats gliding by. At the end of the day enjoy the magnificent sunset with a glass of wine. If you manage to drag yourself away from Villa Bella, there are a handful of bars and restaurants, where good quality food is served. Kisla also has 2 popular beach clubs for swimming, snorkeling & watersports. The Mahal beach club, with one of the ten best views of the world (Sunday Times), is a 3 minute walk. For a wider choice of shops, restaurants (120!) and bars Kalkan is a 5 minutes ride by sea or road or a 20 mins walk. In the season there is a ‘free’ water-taxi shuttling between Kisla beach club and Kalkan harbour.

Villa Bella is the perfect holiday accommodation if you are looking for total peace and tranquility in an amazing location.

About the Owner

We are Lisette and Frenk. We are Dutch and presently live in Amsterdam. We like to travel around the world. We lived and worked many years abroad in countries in Africa, South Asia and the Americas. We searched in Europe for three years for a holiday home and accidently decided to have a look in Turkey. We found our piece of paradise in Kalkan, a seaside village with a wonderful atmosphere and a tropical feel..

Our second visit to Villa Bella without a single problem thanks to the excellent organisation and communication of the owners Frenk and Lisette. The beautiful villa is maintained to an exceptionally high standard in the quiet area of Kisla, with panoramic views of the bay from the terrace. The beach club is just a few minutes walk away with free sun beds and a choice of water sports and only a 5 minute ferry or car ride to the delightful town of Kalkan where the choice of restaurants is endless.

There's a charm and beauty here that we are reluctant to share. Try it and you'll see why. We defy you to be disappointed!

We have recently returned from our second visit to Villa Bella .

We had to return as we thought our first visit was a dream but can now confirm it wasn't and Villa Bella really is a piece of paradise .

The communication from the owners is brilliant and the management team cannot do enough.

We will definitely be returning for a third visit to this beautiful villa .

Owner's Response: Thank you! It’s the enthusiasm and feedback of guests like you that stimulates us to reach for the highest standards. Without our lovely guests and without the Turkish hospitality and the setting in Kalkan, this would never be possible.

A beautiful villa a great choice

  • 5 of 5

Wow.....how beautiful is this villa. We were simply thrilled with this villa overlooking the sea. Located just outside of Kalkan it's a good 25 minutes walk which does require a bit of effort going up the hills but it's a nice downward stroll with great views on the way. The town itself has a great choice of restaurants and we had some lovely lunches and evening meals. There are some good supermarkets and excellent fruit and vegetables stores....good quality and very cheap. Down by the sea which is only a few minutes walk there is beach club which was not open but looked really nice. Shame we were a little too early in the season to experience that. But enough about town.......As we went in late April the area surrounding the villa was very quiet indeed and that suited us. Peace and quiet and luckily the weather was really hot so this made the holiday very relaxing. The villa had a lovely outside area for dining and we enjoyed cooking on the Bbq and sitting outside in the evenings. The pool was excellent. The quality of the patio area and furnishings were of a high standard we did feel a little spoilt. There is a large fridge to keep your beer and wine chilled without using up the space in the kitchen. The inside of the villa was was a bit special. Nice little touches included soaps and pretty towels and wraps when the sun got too hot. There is everything you need and more including games, some dvd's and books. The beds are comfy and the shower rooms spacious and nicely decorated. In fact all of the rooms are so nice the villa has a show room feel. This I think is down to the lovely Lisette who has furnished this villa to perfection. Our hosts were next door and were on hand if we needed anything. They always offered a lift into town if we needed to pop into the shops. Daisy and Huseyin our concierge were so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed including daily selection of bread. do not hesitate to book you will have a relaxing time in a beautiful villa. We will definatly return and thank Frenk and Lisette for a great holiday.

This is the ideal place, also outside summerseason

  • 5 of 5

We lived in Villa Bella for ten days in wintertime December 26 - January 4th). We were lucky with the weather. As soon as the sun was there (between 10 AM and 4 PM), we could sit on the terrace with the beautifull view. We did swim in the sea four times, just a minutes walk from VIlla Bella. Only the last three days there was a wind that made it too cold to sit outside. But no problem: Kalkan is a nice village with lots of restaurants still open. And there are so many things to see in the surroundings: Kas, Myra, Patara beach (Natural park with dunes!), the ruines of Xanthos, the Waterfall of Saklikent, all within a beautifull landscape, with the snowcapped Taurusmountains at the back. So we advice to rent a car when you are intending to explore the surroundings outside Kalkan.

And Villa Bella was very comfortable in the evening and nights. The electric heaters had no problem to warm it. And Villa Bella is equipped so complete and luxurious! We had really a wonderfull time in Villla Bella in this time of the year. So we think it must be nice there all year around! The owners Frank and Lisette were very easy to reach and complete and wellcoming in their information. They made our stay in their Villa just perfect! Thank you and we hope to come again! Is it not in Villa Bella, than in the 'sistervilla' Olive Tree, next to Villa Bella and the new property of the same owners. Olive Tree was refurbished completely when we were there, and we are not sure which Villa will be the most pleasant of the two!

Total relaxation in a beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

The photographs do not do this villa justice , you have to see it to believe it.

We had to drag ourselves away from the comfortable loungers next to a wow infinity pool with a breathtaking view.

The villa is perfectly located with just a short taxi or boat ride to a vast choice of excellent hassle free restaurants.

The management team were very helpful and kept the villa and pool in A1 condition .

Thank you Frenk & Lisette for the excellent information you provided regarding the villa as well as arranging the smooth hassle free transfers.

We liked it that much we have just booked again for next year !

See you soon Villa Bella !

Turkish Delight!

  • 5 of 5

It is with slight trepidation that we reveal how fantastic our recent stay at Villa Bella was in fear that it is fully booked when we next want to return. To us, it was a touch of paradise.

From waking each morning to the magnificent view of the bay ahead, the comfort of lounging by the infinity pool during the day, not forgetting the spacious, luxuriously furnished villa itself with added extras of water cooler, outside fridge, Smart TV and WiFi. Villa Bella has it all.

It is ideally located, only a short walk to beach clubs with water sports to suit all, and the delightful water taxi ride takes you to Kalkan where there are so many restaurants, you are spoilt for choice. There's really no need to hire a car unless you want to.

Villa Bella is the perfect retreat for a luxurious, relaxing holiday which we think is hard to beat! You certainly won't be disappointed.

From the Owner

Kalkan is magical. The centre still resembles the Greek village it used to be long time ago. People are friendly and hospitable. Villa Bella is situated in the area called Kisla. Its a quieter spot than in the lively centre of Kalkan yet near enough for easy access by free water taxi across the bay during day in the main season (May to October), by taxi or by a 20 minutes easy stroll along the seaside.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Dalaman at 100 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Mahal Beach Club at 200 Metres Nearest Beach : Kalkan Beach Club at 200 Metres Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

Take a trip to one of the many magnificent historical sites such as Xanthos, Tlos or Myra and Kekova, and discover how the Romans, Lycians and Ottomans lived.

Kalkan is ideal for all types of water activities. The Bay has a Blue Flag Award for cleanliness and is ideal for learning to sail or water ski. Or take a PADI diving course. Turtles, sting ray, squid, octopus, garfish and barracuda are regularly spotted. Try dives available for children aged 10 and over. Keen walkers & hikers can explore parts of the ancient Lycian Way which passes directly through the town. On Patara Beach are early morning horse ridding sessions and in the summer yoga classes are available on the sea front at Villa Mahal. Kalkan will inspire any photographer or painter with numerous photo and painting opportunities so don't forget to bring your camera and brushes.

Must do's when in Kalkan: a day trip to Kekova/Simena, Saklikent Gorge and a boat trip on Kalkan Bay.

The villa is 3 minutes stroll to both Kisla beach club (which offers the 5 min.'free' water taxi to Kalkan harbour) with its gently shelving blue flag pebble beach and the Mahal beach club, with its stunning sun bathing platforms and 5 star dining. The nature reserve Patara Beach, 18km of beautiful unspoilt sandy beach with ancient ruins and nesting turtles is only a 20 min. car/local bus ride away. The stunning Kaputas beach, a small beach at the bottom of a gorge with turquoise blue water is just a 5 min. drive.

Dalaman is the nearest international airport. Transfer times are approx 1hr 30 mins by car. We will gladly arrange transfers for you but it is easy to hire a car at the airport and drive yourself. Transfers are private and cost approx £60 each way from Dalaman airport. Alternatively, Antalya airport is around 3 hours drive from Kalkan. For this villa renting a car is advisable although you can manage without and rely on the water taxi/road taxis and small local shops.

Some local shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance of the villa. It is a 3 minutes gentle walk to the sea side and 2 beach clubs. There is a 'free' water taxi to Kalkan all day until late evening (high season). Kalkan is a 5 minute drive. Nearest town is Kas, a 30 min drive away on a coastal road with stunning scenery. Many historical sites are within a 45 minute drive of Kalkan. Other places of interest are Saklikent Gorge, and the traditional villages of Bezirgan and Islamlar.

Further Details:

In Kalkan there are several larger town centre supermarkets that will deliver. Kalkan has 5 major banks all with cash machines accepting most credit cards plus a local post office. There are English speaking doctors and a dentist if required. Don’t miss the experience of a Turkish bath or hamam at The Atlantis well being centre, where there is also a small gym for fitness enthusiasts. Kalkan is well known for its array of excellent restaurants high up on roof terraces in the old town or by the harbour. Don't miss the traditional eateries like Belgin's Kitchen with authentic Turkish food, live Turkish music and the chance to smoke a water pipe. Or the small kebab houses, pizza and pancake restaurants.

Kalkan offers something to suit all tastes. This elegant harbour town is situated on Turkey’s gorgeous Lycian Coast within an area of outstanding natural beauty which is steeped in ancient history. Comparatively untouched by mass development, this picturesque resort lies in a lovely bay. It offers far more than the average sun and sea holiday. Take a trip to one of the nearby historical sites, drive a jeep up into the mountains, hike the Lycian Way, enjoy a canyoning trip at the second largest Gorge of Europe, cruise on a gullet or simply relax at the 18 km unspoilt beach of Patara.

From the Owner

The most important characteristic of the villa is the open view over the Kalkan Bay and the hills on the opposite side. The neighbouring, identical villa was amongst the 20 best seaside villas according to the Sunday Times in 2010. There are two beach clubs only minutes walking from Villa Bella, almost on the same level which is unusual for Kalkan. The Mahal beach club was chosen to have one of the ten best views of the world.
