This beautiful and sympathetically restored ground floor apartment, in a characteristic 17th century farmhouse, nestles in the breathtaking Umbrian countryside surrounded by olive groves. Only minutes away from the historic town of Panicale, Lake Trasimeno and Tuscany. The spacious apartment offers an elegant blend of modern and rustic living, comfortably sleeping 4/5 people. The large main living space is open plan with a fireplace and wood burning stove, seating area, dining table and chairs. Fully equipped luxury fitted kitchen. The double doors overlook the most beautiful countryside and the south facing covered terrace. You can also enjoy alfresco dining under the pergola in the garden! There are 2 luxurious bedrooms, both with queen size beds as well as 2 bathrooms, one of which is en-suite with a large shower. Wonderful restaurants are nearby. Walking distance to a village shop and bar and ideally situated for visits to Assisi, Cortona, Siena, Florence and more.....

We fell in love with Italy the first time we got there! When we first found our apartment we knew we that this will be a place where we will enjoy spending every minute of our free time. My work is interior design and I couldn't have enjoyed it more when we were getting things together for the apartment, so now we can just visit any time we are free and hope that our guests will enjoy their stay as much as we do. We are now actively learning Italian and are hoping to immerse ourselves into the Italian way of live more and more!

Why Baz and Dee chose Trasimeno area
The property has been lovingly restored to a very high standard and with care and attention to its original features. As it was a new renovation we could make choices as to the internal layout and fittings, which really appealed to us. The location was also what made us decide to buy as it is situated within a small village which is not too remote, yet within easy access to just about anything you might need.
What makes this apartment unique
We particularly like having our own garden and the shared pool facilities. There are 3 more apartments within the main house and it is nice that most of the time one of the other apartments is occupied. If we want to be on our own, we spend the time in the garden, but have met many interesting people while spending time around the pool!

Lovely place to relax and unwind
A beautiful spot in a little villaqe close to Lake Trasimeno, with a café and a mini market. House was great, roomy, clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, all the facilities you'd ever need, fantastic little garden. Pool was great. All in all, it has to be one of the top places we've stayed at in 10 years or more of holidaying in Central Italy.
Beautifully presented apartment in stunning surroundings. Great for a relaxing break or a great base from which to explore Umbria and Tuscany. Will definitely be coming back in the Summer to make use of the pool.
Idyllic and like a home
We spent a week here at the beginning of August 2014 and found the accommodation extremely comfortable, with the apartment feeling like a real home. It lacked nothing - the interior was cool in temperature, even on the hottest of days, and having the extensive gardens, portico and pergola meant there was always a choice of sun or shade, if you weren't relaxing in or sitting by the pool with its amazing views.
The surrounding area has so many beautiful and interesting places to visit, from small hilltop villages, to lakeside towns, roman villas and needless to say the beautiful towns of Assisi, Perugia and Gubbio. A car is definitely a requirement, but the surrounding area had plenty of excellent restaurants to chose from should you want a light snack, or a three course dinner. We recommend Panicale on a Thursday evening, where live music and dancing fills the square while you dine alfresco with both locals and visitors. Remember to book a table though!
We love Italy, but this was our first time to this particular region, and we would definitely return to both the apartment and the area again.
Beautiful rural retreat
We spent a lovely week in this excellent apartment. It has two large bedrooms and two bathrooms one of which is en suite.. A beautiful open plan kitchen dining living room which is all very well equipped.there is a large private garden with lots of places to relax and perfect for Al Fresco dining.

Activity and Interests
There are various beaches around lake Trasimeno and also a number of outdoor swimming pools. Water sports are also available around the lake.
Perugia Airport (St Egidio) is approx 30 min drive away and served by Ryanair. Furthermore other budget airlines such as Easyjet etc fly to Rome, Pisa or Ancona, all approx 2 hours drive away.
The main rail station of Chiusi (25 min drive) is also an ideal connection to and from either Rome or Florence!
By car: Chiusi 25 min, Castiglione del Lago 20 min, Perugia 30 min, Cortona 40 min, Montepulciano 55 min, Siena 55 min, nearest motorway 25 min
For most of your general food shopping requirements we would recommend Castiglione del Lago, the large Co-op store is excellent, there is also a bank and some further shops within this small shopping centre.
Also the tourist Information office in the old town centre of Castiglione del Lago has an English version booklet with all necessary information of events, markets, train times etc. available monthly so you can plan your activities accordingly. The choices available are just too numerous to mention!
