Apartment in City of Vienna, Austria - Historic Building, Romantic Leafy Biedermeier Cloister

Welcoming apartment in the very heart of town, surrounded by three beautiful parks and walking distance or short chugging tram ride from all the main concert halls and theatres. To spend time here is to experience “Vienna” in a completely different, far less superficial way than from a hotel bedroom.Vienna offers every amenity possible. Given the central position of this property, these are all easily to hand - two huge parks, the Musikverein, the Konzerthaus, the main museums, including the stunning Art History and Natural History Museums, and sights are all within walking distance. The Belvedere and its incomparable collection of Klimt and Schiele is literally just opposite. Despite all this the house itself is very quiet and peaceful, well away from the noise generated by any capital. There is skating, swimming, excursions to Hungary (only one hour away-) and so much more to do, off the normal tourist run. Austria is not exclusively made up of ski slopes!

We only administer our own family properties and try to keep the atmosphere as comfortable and personal as possible, leaving our own possessions, books pictures etc for guests to enjoy, but at the same time also providing ample, adequately equipped space for guests to live in, wardrobes, storage, garden etc. Our tastes are simple: we do not attempt or pretend to run Grand Hotels with fitted carpets, Jamie Oliver kitchens, or marble bathrooms with power showers whence the water issues from gilded taps in the shape of swans.

We find that more and more guests love this atmosphere and we now have a 35% rate of return visits. We are delighted abut this because it make the whole enterprise more family than hard business.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There are beaches all along the Daunbe, which offer among other things, water skiing facilities down the river which is inexpensive, terrific fun and often overlooked by guide books.

Travel:

Nearest airports: Vienna, and for cheap flights Bratislava respectively half an hour and an hour from Vienna centre. Excellent connections, bus, train and radio taxi services.

Distances:

Too numerous to list here, please refer to a good guide book.

Further Details:

We do supply guests with a twenty page leaflet containing details of local shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks etc. and exhaustive (some say exhausting) information about places of interest or leisure activities, which we think complements the many excellent guide books on the market.

The heating system is excellent, air conditioning would be entirely superfluous in Vienna The apartment is 90m2, thus not specially large in terms of suitability for children. Outside: Courtyard and rose garden to sit in. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Maid reliable longstanding employee, cleans and changes linen for arrival and on departure. For longer stays, she comes in by arrangement once a week to clean and change linen. All bed and bath linen supplied. Other: Please note that WIFI is now available in the living room.
