About the Owner

We are a British couple, who after discovering the charms of this area decided to settle here in 2006 and organically farm the olive trees and enjoy a quiet and peaceful life. In this period, we have explored and discovered many interesting places and activities that we want to share with our guests.

We live near Casa Oriole on the farm but in a secluded building and are always available to help make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Thanks for your hospitality & little details that make the difference." Catazina & Tiago.

"The location is really something special-far away from everything but still close to the Delta & the beach. Southern Catalunya is truly beautiful place & staying here at Casa Oriole was a great way to experience it in a different way." Remi & Marta

"Thanks Paul & Gill for a wonderful Easter weekend among the olive trees! We had a lovely time. The Delta was gorgeous, Gandesa well worth visiting, Corbera d'Ebre hauntingly peaceful, Miravet stunning. But best of all is this little oasis of tranquility. I'm sure we'll be back before too long." Tom & Gemma

Relaxation of the best

  • 5 of 5

The house was very well equipped and is situated in a picturesque and spacious area dominated by olive trees. In the distance you could see the sea but also the view into the surrounding was beautiful. That was exactly as we had wished it to be.

We reached Casa oriole thanks the excellent description by our hosts without difficulties.

The property was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The listing description was accurate. Everything was very good prepared. We found recommendations for excursions, restaurants , beaches and sightseeings.

Especially we loved the quietness during day and night.

Rarely disturbed by a call of a oriole- wonderful!

Paul and Gill were excellent hosts, friendly and helpful but never intrusive.

Definitely we would recommend the house to relatives and friends.

Thanks a lot for this wonderful stay.

Ideal for couples seeking quite & seclusion.

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely place to stay being situated in amongst olive trees and having great views across a ravine. Despite its seclusion, the nearest supermarkets are 10-15 minutes away and the beaches from less than 30 minutes- our favorite expansive sandy beach (Eucalyptus) being about 40 minutes. We spent most of the time watching the feathered wildlife both at the property and on the way to the beaches.

The property is clean, well maintained and comfortable, and the owners always helpful and friendly.

Charmantes Häuschen in idyllischer Lage

  • 5 of 5

From the Owner

Living in the remote countryside gives you a vision of the responsibility for the resources that we have and how valuable they are. We are as self-sufficient as possible, nature gives us everything we need to live comfortably (water, power, heat, etc.) but, because of that, it is necessary to respect and take care of it; not only for us but for mankind and future generations. We always invite our guests, during their stay, to collaborate with us in this simple task of making a responsible use of these resources that nature gives us; so we kindly ask to avoid the use of high power devices (hairdryers, irons, etc.), as well as to also avoid excessive and unnecessary expenditure of water. It is for the common good ;-)

From the Owner

There are interesting walks around the olive farms and ravines near Casa Oriole, either on foot or by bike. And driving about 30 minutes, we can be strolling on the endless sandy beaches of the Delta or 40 minutes, beginning an excursion in the stunning mountains of Els Ports. The Ebro Delta is great for a bicycle tour through rice paddies, surrounded by different lagoons, or by following existing routes along the Ebro River to connect with the Vía Verde, which runs from Tortosa and reaches Alcañiz 96kms away! In the Delta, you can also enjoy one of the largest natural bird reserves of the Mediterranean, with more than 95 species including flamingos. You can also rent canoes/ kayaks, take a stroll along the mouth of the Ebro, go snorkeling, kite surfing etc. If we talk about gastronomy, we cannot forget the Catalan cuisine that’s typical of the Delta and, due to its proximity, also of the Valencian, as well as the quality seafood.
