There is a Garage a block away where you can rent a space daily or weekly for your car. The high ceilings and large windows give a wonderful bright atmosphere, the romantic stone balcony gives out onto leafy trees and the renowned 'Theatre de l'Atelier'. This is an increasingly popular and lively area which remains authentic and charming while being one of the hit attractions in Paris. There are countless bistros and cafes and the lovely Rue des Abbesses full of shops and an ideal market place for fresh food, which you will enjoy preparing in our well equipped kitchen.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful holiday at the apartment with our three children. We loved the location and the space offered by the apartment. We especially loved the balcony overlooking the square and would have no hesitation in recommending it to any of our friends.

I bought this property in 1986 when I was searching for an artist studio in this area. It turned out that all the wonderful studios I visited were facing North which is normal because direct sunlight makes terrible shadows and distorts colours.This apartment is perfect for me as it has the high ceilings of a studio, for a sense of space, but it is facing South East so the sun comes flooding in which is an absolute priority for me. The other strong point is the perfect combination between, the easy access to all parts of town, and the wonderful feeling of being part of a small, very charming village within Paris.

Activity and Interests


Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport 15 min RER ride from close by Gare du Nord Station (15 mins walk). Eurostar Gare du Nord 15 mins walk or bus or taxi 10 mins. Good metro connection with Gare de Lyon (south bound trains) 25 mins.

New 'VELIB' bikes available on the corner above the house. Euro Disney 45 mins from close 'Anvers' Metro station direct to join line A RER.


1 block from Sacrè Coeur Basilica and its 'Funicular' which takes you up the steep hill with a metro ticket or pass to enjoy an amazing view over Paris. 2 blocks from Abbesses metro station with direct access to Saint Germain area and Orsay Museum 15 mins. 2 blocks from Anvers metro station with access to Trocadero and Eiffel tower 20 mins or N°30 bus 25 mins according to trafic. At close range with all typical sights seen in 'Amelie Poulain' film: Pigalle, the Moulin Rouge, the vineyard etc...

Fees No additional mandatory fees

50% deposit to secure booking via Paypal/bank transfer. Balance due 4 to 2 weeks prior to arrival, Paypal/bank. Security deposit (500 euros) is required 5 working days prior to arrival if paid by Paypal or in cash on arrival and refunded on the day of departure after inspection with you when the keys are returned. Cancellations should be notified before 8 weeks prior to booking, after this the deposit will not be refundable. For last minute bookings, conditions will be readjusted by owner.
Changeover Day:
Flexible depending on other bookings but, to allow for same day changeover cleaning, guests should try to leave by 10am and arrive no earlier than 2pm.

50% deposit to secure booking via Paypal/bank transfer , balance due 2 to 4 weeks prior to arrival via Paypal /bank transfer or in cash on arrival. Security deposit 500€ or equivalent in £ GBP either in cash on arrival or just prior to arrival by Paypal not by bank transfer.This will be returned to you, in full, on day of departure.

In the late 90's I added an extra floor to the apartment by creating a new staircase and reorganizing the layout so now we have 2 bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs which is extremely convenient and feels like a little house. The corner room which gives out onto the the stone balcony is particularly charming as it looks out onto an open 'place' with trees and a theatre.The apartment is ideally placed within the authentic Montmartre area, just far enough from main tourist flow and yet conveniently close to Metro stations and Buses to all the other sights and Museums.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is ideal for two couples (the beds are 140cm x 180cm and 120cm x 180cm) and 2 children (bunk beds, lower 200cm x 90cm,the lower is a proper single bed which can accommodate a young adult, upper 180cm x 90cm for a younger child only ). Bare in mind that there is a spiral staircase between the 2 floors which could be dangerous for very small children. The children's room can be equipped to adapt to their age + toys and books.We can also provide a baby cot on request. Cleaning / Towels / Linen : Linen and towels are included. Extra cleaning can be arranged at cost.
