Stylish Secluded Villa in Dalyan, with Private Pool

Updated: 31-Mar-2016
Villa in Dalyan, Mugla, Turkey - For the More Discerning Who Enjoy a Taste of Paradise

Dalyan has a unique and seductive charm. It is a small fishing town, that is still relatively undiscovered, and retains the local colour and genuine friendliness sought by most of us. The airport, Dalaman, is only 20 minutes away and there are flights from most UK airports. For those of us who lead hectic lives and want a relaxing break, achieving this in Dalyan is not hard to do. Just come here and take in the atmosphere. The villa is 3 bedroom (but sleeps up to 8/9, with 3 sofa beds in the living areas downstairs) and boasts a private pool with marble sun-deck, a lovely open summer house by the poolside, where you can read a book or just sleep in the shade, a traditional barbecue, handbuilt from local stone, a covered patio area, as well as a lovely garden with mature hibiscus, palm, banana and fig trees. Although secluded, in the older, more traditional part of the town, access to local shops, restaurants, and the beautiful river, is within walking distance.

Perfectly located home from home.

Our third visit to dalyan, but after renting "out of town villas" we wanted to try a villa nearer to the attractions of the town itself.

Just a couple of minutes from the shops/restaurants of Dalyan Villa Hanimeli is idealy placed.

The locals are helpful and friendly as was Haci himself, who offered to organise trips and excursions and even offered to organise a BBQ for us and friends we had met up with when we mentioned it to him.

All in all we would recommend Henimeli, to anyone wanting a comfortable villa close to all amenities, that's a little different to the usual rental properties in Dalyan.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking time to post a review, and a great review that reflects what other guests say about Villa Hanimeli. It is a perfect home from home! We have guests who come back every year, so we hope to be able to welcome you again. Thank you for the compliments about Haci. He really wants to make sure you have a good holiday. Amazing - can't wait to come back

We had a fantastic family (teens) holiday (4th time in Dalyan). Hanimeli Villa, is beautiful. Equipped with everything you need, to a great standard. The outside space in particular is stunning. The pool is wonderful and relaxing in the covered seating is special. Location is spot on, just round the corner from the top of Dalyan "high street" is perfect.

The owners (Ghislaine & Haci) are brilliant. They were so helpful with booking trips and suggesting places to visit - lovely people.

Definitely going back.

Owner's Response: Can't wait for you to come back! It's a pleasure and a compliment that you come back every year. This was your first stay in Hanimeli (you have previously stayed in our other villa, TK1854) and we're delighted that you enjoyed yourselves so much. The great thing about the villa is that is furnished and equipped as a home, rather than a holiday home, so it was wonderful to see you "at home" relaxing and enjoying yourselves. Ghislaine and Haci

Activity and Interests

There are 2 lovely beaches:

Turtle Beach (where the turtles lay their eggs) can be reached by a 30 minute boat ride down the river, which is absolutely beautiful. The beach has lovely yellow sand. Sun beds and umbrellas can be hired by the day.

Iztuzu Beach: equally delightful and more traditional, this beach is reached by a 20 minute ride through the mountains on the local dolmus (mini bus)

Koycegiz Lake: a still water lake, a few minutes up river from Dalyan, makes a wonderful day out.

Dalaman airport is 20 minutes away, and flights from/to most UK airports are easily available.

We can meet you at the airport and take you to the villa. This is is an additional cost, but cheaper than getting a taxi. Our transfer vehicle is a Mercedes Vito people carrier, so you can travel in style and comfort. It is equipped with a fridge, so you can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer on your journey from the airport (at cost price). Water is provided free of charge.

Dalyan is 15 minutes by bus from the town of Ortaca, where there is a very lively and enjoyable market every Friday.

It is 45 minutes by bus to Gocek, a wonderful coastal village, with an impressive marina, and from where you can go on a boat trip round the 12 islands

Koycegiz is a small town at the far end of Koycegiz lake. You can go there by boat from Dalyan.

I have produced my own information pack, which will be sent to you if you book the villa.

Further Details:

Dalyan is a charming place: once seen, never forgotten. You can go everywhere on foot, by bicycle, by boat, or dolmus.

There are several banks, ATM machines, supermarkets. Many shops and restaurants. There is a local doctor and dentist should you need it, and 5 chemists shops.

It is a place where there is something for everyone, no matter what your age and stage: from doing nothing but relaxing, to white water rafting or sea kayaking, to lazy boat trips along the coast, stopping to snorkel and eat. It's a good place for teenagers: they can enjoy a bit of free time form the parents, without getting into trouble. It is by and large a very safe place and the locals are friendly and trustworthy.
