Set in a large, immaculate, mature garden the grounds offer an abundance of space with the tranquillity afforded to a property of this size, fully walled and with electric gates. The south east facing patios, equipped with BBQ overlook the pool, terrace and lawns. With the introduction of the newly opened San Pedro tunnel, Puerto Banus is 10 minutes away while the beach in front of Cancelada and the Villa Padierna Hotel Beach Bar is no more than a few minutes’ drive. The Costa Del Sol appeal is endless, offering holidays to sun seekers with its endless stretches of beaches, warm seas and chiringitos; golfers and the dozens of choice golf courses, fishing, hiking, riding, mountain biking, cycling, skiing and an abundance of nightlife and simply relaxing.

About Ted

We left South Africa at the end of the 90s and looked for "the ideal" spot in Europe which in some way reflected the lifestyle and weather pattern of SA. Someone mentioned the south of Spain and we never looked back. The millions of visitors to the coast annually is testament to this. We built our home in the quiet surroundings of Finca Del Lago, just outside the village of Cancelada, overlooking Los Flamingo golf course. The house is spacious, surrounded by large lawns and provides all the luxuries for a great holiday, as a home away from home. The house is a few minutes from the beach and Cancelada Village is approximately half way between Marbella and Estepona.

Notes on accommodation: The 2 ground floor bedrooms, 5 and 6 lead onto the patio and pool area. The villa is air-conditioned through out and has under floor heating on the 1st and ground floor. The 3 bedrooms en suite on the lower level lead out to private patios and the garden. The games room is equipped with a pool table, table tennis and football table and has its own shower/toilet facilities. The Villa has an alarm system, is monitored by a security company and has electric gates. Children are more than welcome and the safe expansive grounds provides all the space required. Outside: The villa is set in delightful, peaceful surroundings, is totally private and provides all the space for both indoor and outdoor living and entertainment. All ground floor doors; lounge, dining room and bedrooms lead onto the patio and extensive pool area. The BBQ area has loungers, tables and chairs near and around the pool. The house is situated on a private road, with only 8 homes there is very little traffic. Utility Room: Large utility room with washing machines, clothes hanger, iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are included. Pools/beach towels are also provided. The villa is clean on arrival and we would appreciate to find it in the same condition on check-out. Linen and towels are changed weekly. Additional maid and other services are available on request. Other: In front of the dining room is the barbecue and pizza oven patio with sink and cold water. The table comfortably seats 10. The table is covered by a retractable awning. Another table seating 6 is also under a retractable awning.

The pictures do not do this villa justice. It's incredible

We had 16 of us stay her for 5 days. Since the day I first enquired Ted has been incredible and helped with any questions we had. We ended spending so much time at the villa because it was so beautiful with great facilities. You need a taxi to get into Marbella or Puerto banus which is very easy to book and Ted and his team will explain everything to you when you arrive. Thank you for an amazing holiday

Absolutely beautiful grounds outside - inside needs some work

The pros: Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue for our wedding. All our guests really loved the mature gardens, views, backyard, and overall picturesque villa. Grocery delivery was very easy to coordinate and well done. The villa was also easy to find thanks to the good directions/maps from the owners.

The cons: The place was falling apart inside. It was a little bit like the movie Money Pit. Everything seemed ok on the outside and we kept discovering problems, one after another throughout our stay. When we arrived there was a strong sewage smell which took some time to flush out (more prompt communication would be appreciated). Additionally, the A/C emitted a strong burning smell when we turned it on downstairs. The game room is musty. Things fell off walls. There was no hot water on the lower floor for 2 days (not helpful when preparing for a wedding). The showers in the bathrooms flooded. The downstairs rooms were also full of ants we spent a lot of time trying to sweep up.

Note: While this property is owned by Ted, it is managed by Thomas - who did respond to our concerns once we were able to figure out how to contact him (no phone number was provided). He tried to help, bringing in technicians and even his personal humidifier. More directions on where to find the trash bins are would be good - we walked up and down the street with no idea.

Fantastic Villa- great for large parties. Even better than we had imagined. Definitely recommend!!

Communication with the owner before and during our stay couldn’t have been better. Ted was so helpful and responded very quickly.

The villa is absolutely immaculate. So spacious and bright. The rooms are enormous and feel very luxurious. The pool area and gardens are beautiful and feel very private.

There are a few little bars and a small shop in walking distance. The supermarket is a short taxi ride away (€10).

This is a perfect villa for groups of friends or family. I definitely recommend it.

Amazing villa , peaceful location ,welcoming hosts who are on hand to help with any issues.

15 family members stayed here, we all had a great time. Villa is so spacious with lots of room. Pool was lovely and big , lots of outside space. 30min walk to closest village , we didn't have a car but I would recommend it, although if your organised the villa owners have an account with a local supermarket who deliver ( I would suggest placing the order before you arrive as we could only get a delivery time 2 days after our arrival date) a few nice restaurants in the nearest village .

Excellent time

We have now returned after a wonderful time together with my family at Villa Africa. The spaciousness of the villa, the grounds and pool, the location and quiet made it a great way to relax and enjoy each other’s company – our main objective. Our group spanned the ages of 6 to 92 and found the villa, extensive grounds and pool to be ideally suited to all of them. With good weather thrown in it made for an excellent holiday. Shades and awnings on the terrace meant that virtually all our time was spent outdoors including all meals.

The gardens were kept in very good shape and the attention to the swimming pool on a couple of occasions was valuable and essential for safety and enjoyment.

Lili looked after us very well and consulted us and kept us informed on those essential maintenance issues that crop up from time to time. Communications with Ted and Lili were prompt and efficient.

We mainly wanted a “chilled-out” week around the villa so did not venture out far apart from shopping, though some did the Caminita del Rey walk not far away. The local Mercadona supermarket’s fresh fish was very good.

We can thoroughly recommend this villa.

Better than we ever could have imagined.

Where to start? From the moment we arrived at Villa Africa we were welcomed with open arms. We arrived slightly earlier than the check in time noted but Ted, Lillie and the cleaners sorted us out straight away. Ted even took a few of us to get 'supplies' from the local Lidl. A real friendly bloke and bended over backwards to ensure we had everything throughout our stay. The Villa itself is simply breathtaking. It has everything you could imagine. It catered to all 17 of our needs, and some. The taxis are very accustomed to the place, so taxi's weren't a problem. €20 to Puerto Banus, €40 to Marbella strip FYI. Can't thank them enough for allowing us to stay, it made the trip what it was, and that's down to Ted and co. We will be coming back, that I can be sure of. Once again, from myself, the stag and the lads, thank you so much. I can't recommend this place enough.

Villa Africa is 4 minutes drive from the beach directly in front of Cancelada Village, whilst Puerto Banus, as a land mark is 10 minutes away. Again there are numerous beaches, clubs and beach restaurants within 10 to 20 minutes driving from the Villa and many further afield.

Cancelada Village is an enjoyable 10 minute walk "in the country" from the Villa, while Estepona, San Pedro, Puerto Banus, Benahavis and Marbella are all between 8 and 15 minutes away. Each with its own attractions, Marbella and the Old Town, Benahavis perched up in the mountains with its narrow streets and restaurants; Puerto Banus, well known for its nightlife, restaurants and boats while the nearby Spanish towns of Marbella, San Pedro and Estepona delight with shops, bars & restaurants.

Changeover days are Saturday to Saturday from mid June to the end of August yearly. Otherwise at any time with a minimum of three nights.
