It is only one of a block of four and offers immaculate modern living space with 2 large terraces both with spectacular views. Sleeps 4 people with optional air conditioning and heating for the winter for an additional charge. Fornalutx is a stunning village, reached by the back roads from Soller. The cluster of honey-coloured prettily restored rubble stone houses, cobbled plazas and stepped street are undeniably charming.

About the Owner

We both work full-time and were looking for a haven to relax in whilst offering a wide range of restaurants, a beach and shops close enough to enjoy too. There are two terraces, front and back, as part of the apartment which have spectacular views, ideal to sit and relax whilst looking down the valley into Fornalutx surrounded by orange and lemon groves. The apartment is a new build and has been fitted out to the highest standard, including Sky television, DVDs, MP3 or iPod docking, everything to compliment your stay.

The locals are extremely friendly and there are festivals at which you can enjoy the local culture.

A fantastic place in a stunning location dream holiday home we all wished we owned. From the moment you park the hire car in the garage you know it's going to be great. It is so spacious, not least because of the two huge suntrap terraces. Modern, comfortable, light, airy and quiet. This is no budget holiday home, with dodgy cheap furniture!! In fact, quite the opposite, this is a "home from home" - John Lewis, Next and M&S; all come to mind. Fornalutx is stunning - the views from the terraces are breath-taking, when you open the shutter, the sun pours through the doors, you think wow, I want to stay here forever! The location couldn't be better in Fornalutx, everything within easy walking distance, seconds from the best restaurants and an easy 3 minute walk to the beautiful village square. The owners couldn't be more professional and helpful it's the stuff dreams are made of. This home is just about one of the most perfect locations possible.

Property with 'wow' factor!

As soon as we walked into the property we were impressed with the lovely furnishing in all the rooms. Everything was spotlessly clean , the bedrooms were lovely and comfortable, the bathroom was beautifully fitted out and the kitchen/lounge was perfect too. The views from both the sun terraces, at the front and back , were spectacular, you are completely surrounded by the beautiful mountains and also have wonderful views down the valley to Soller. We really did have a wonderful holiday in this lovely part of Majorca and look forward to coming again.

Ideal location for an active holiday

We had a very good vacation in spite of some rain! It gave us time to read good books and drink homebrewed coffee. The flat was beautiful, and so was the view towards east and sunrise. The two balconies provided both morning- and afternoon opportuinties for outdoor meals. Being active hikers we had lots of opportunities within the local area, and we enjoyed, the mountians, the stonewalls and the olivetrees that covered the landscape.

The staff at the pizzeria in the village were very friendly, and we kept coming back. It is hard to beat the combination of nice people and nice food.

The only minus to be mentioned is that the water in the shower was lukewarm istead of hot while we stayed there, a problem that probably can be solved relatively easy.

We are most likely to come back another year!

Almost a gem

This lovely apartment is exactly as described! It is very nicely furnished with 2 beautiful decks with stunning views of the mountains and Fornalutx. All the logistics are perfectly well arranged. Sari, the local caretaker, speaks fluent English and is very helpful. The owner, Sue, provides a large amount of very good information on local restaurants, etc. There's a good grocery store, restaurants and bakery within a 5 minute walk. There's indoor parking, which is pretty unusual in the area.

We had a wonderful time here, but there was one draw-back which is why this property is not getting 5 stars from me. This condo is on the first floor. The windows of the second floor apartment above have full visibility of both decks below, so there is very little privacy on the decks. Also, with the windows open, all conversation and activities of the apartment above are within immediate earshot. This close living arrangement is, of course, very common in Spain, but not good for those who prefer complete privacy and tranquility.

If this is not a problem for a potential occupant, than I would highly recommend this property.

The apartment is one of four in a two up and two down block. I am surprised that you felt a lack of privacy as our Spanish neighbours keep the shutters shut during the daytime at both the front and rear of the apartment ensuring that we are afforded privacy during the day, we have also provided a canopy at the front to increase privacy. Our neighbours both work full and part-time and are generally out at work during the day and are ordinarily very quiet, so much so that they wear earplugs to listen to the radio and television. I apologise that this wasn't the case during your short stay, I will have a chat with them when we are over in a few weeks. I am surprised that you did experience this as we haven't received any other comments since we starting renting about the noise or lack of privacy as you will see from all of our other reviews. A perfect spot!

This was our fourth visit to Fornalutx - a simply beautiful and welcoming village - but our first stay in this apartment. It won't be our last! The apartment is extremely well appointed and furnished to a very high standard. The two balconies are a wonderful bonus, giving fabulous views across to the mountains and village which can be enjoyed at any time of the day. They also enabled us to enjoy sun and shade both morning and afternoon. It is only a five minute stroll into the centre of the village and to the many excellent restaurants. Having a garage in which to park our car was also a great advantage as the heat can be unbearable if the car is left out in the open.

We had the good fortune to meet Sue and Steve (the owners) in Fornalutx and they could not have been more welcoming or helpful.

We can strongly recommend this apartment and we shall certainly be hoping to return next year.

Perfect in every way

We had a wonderful stay in this perfect apartment. It really was a home from home. It is the ideal location to relax and to adjust to the gentle pace of this part of Mallorca.My family and I had everything we needed and the whole process of booking, locating the apartment and knowing the best places to see and eat made it one of the most stress free holidays we have had. We chose this property for its breathtaking views of Fornalutx and the surrounding Tramuntana mountain range. The village is stunning and so tranquil, although it still has all the facilities that we were looking for, restaurants, cafes and shops, it has won the prettiest European village for the past 5 years. The bustling town of Soller and the port are close providing a greater range of shops, bars and restaurants.

Fornalutx is an ideal location for a restful vacation and is popular with beach lovers, sightseers, walkers and cyclists alike.

Coast/Beach:

5 minute from the centre of Soller and a 7 minute drive from the Port of Soller.

Travel:

From the airport you should drive to the Ma-20, follow the signs for Palma until you reach the signs for Andratx onto the Ma-19, follow the road until signs for Soller. Head for the Port of Soller on the main road until you get to the Monument Restaurant roundabout. Turn right to Puerta Pollenca, keep going, after about 5k turn right to Formalutx. After the block of apartments on the left the apartment is situated just before the first corner in a block of 4 on the right hand side of the road.

Distances:

2.5km to Soller and 5km to the Port of Soller.

Further Details:

The underground parking can be accessed to the right, there is an electric fob for the door. The parking is number 3, please do not park in anybody else's space.

Most of all we love the spectacular views of the valley of Soller and the views of the Tramuntana mountains from the front and rear terraces. The tranquility and beauty of the area is something that we look forward to when we are both working full time. The night sky would make Patrick Moore very jealous, just look up and see the stars twinkling in the night sky. We have everything we need and more in our apartment, it is home from home. We spent a lot of money providing luxury fittings in the apartment and a gorgeous well equipped kitchen so that we can enjoy the local produce of fish, meats, fruit and vegetables, it makes cooking an absolute joy.
