About the Owner

My wife and I fell in love with the local people and the area when we visited on holiday. Holidaymakers are made very welcome and although the locals primarily speak Catalan to each other your attempts at Spanish are enthusiastically received but not essential.

We use the villa to get the breaks needed from our busy timetables. Both our grown up children and their families have used the villa and we all agree that its a great place to 'chill' out and base yourself for sight seeing trips to places like Barcelona and Port Aventura theme park.

We welcome guests to use the inflatables and beach toys left behind by previous guests which we encourage rather than to throw such items away at the end of your enjoyable holiday because they are of no use back home.

OWNERS DIRECT website has guests reviews but here is a typical extract. Peterborough, Cambs - Fantastic time. Had a great trip to Tarragona-beautiful city! Well worth the trip. Miravets pottery and the novelty and comical pottery for sale at the ‘Pas de Barrea’ - passing on the boat. Wow! Nice to have own pool, quiet and pleasant views. We will definitely be back. Already got a long list of what we want to do. Have fun!

Northolt, Middlesex - The villa is lovely and clean and the kids love it here and especially the pool. It was nice and sunny. The Universal Studios theme park, Port Aventura, is only 25 mins away and well worth a visit. We came to the villa for our ‘honeymoon’ and we all want to come back – definitely.

Rhyl, North Wales - Great villa, marvelous pool. Helpful changeover staff. Would love to come again. Best place to eat is the reasonably priced Chinese restaurant on the main road in Miami Playa.

Absolutely perfect

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this lovely comfy villa was truly memorable ,

Not being seasoned travellers (on our own) we found the directions easy to follow.

The contacts and network of local support there was brilliant and I cannot find enough words to say how brilliant they were when we found we had to come home in a hurry

Although we did not get to explore the area because of leaving early we had a list of places to visit planned , all of which were within an hours journey of our base

For the comforts , supports and accessibility of a home from home this is A1

the beaches were beautiful and the locals very friendly

Owner's Response: We were genuinely sad when these guests had news from home that required a sudden and rapid return home. Everyone from the pool people, the people who look after the villa and see guests in and out and our selves offered every assistance we could for them including driving them to Barcelona to catch flights if necessary. It was a pleasure to have you as guests and I hope you find the opportunity one day to come back to us where we can assure you a good deal on your stay. I do try to ensure guests feel welcome and relaxed and that starts at the very beginning of our contact with you right through until you depart. Thanks to these guests for their kind words. Franck & Ellie

Beautiful villa with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely villa, well appointed with everything needed and lots of extras too. The villa overlooks open countryside and is in a peaceful and very pretty position. The pool is superb and very private. We were well looked after by the local contact and a small problem caused by the weather was reported and remedied within 24 hours. The villa is within a very short distance of a selection of superb coastal bays (24 in all). We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The owner was incredibly helpful before we left and made sure we had all the details we needed.

What a fantastic villa

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic villa you have. Clean, tidy and very peaceful. It has to go down as one of the most relaxing holidays that we have ever had as a family. Our 2 teenage girls loved that pool (and so did I come to mention it) and we even managed to get the 75 year old mother-in-law to take a dip. The villa is in a fantastic location, but we were glad that we had a car to help us get about and see a bit more of the area. The beaches were fantastic and I couldn’t believe how quiet they were for August. No problem getting a spot to sit down on the beaches, and didn’t feel that you had someone else sat on your lap. The supermarket was handy and had everything that you could wish for and we felt that it was reasonably priced. Loved the walk down to the patisserie each morning for fresh croissants and bread for breakfast. As for eating out, well you can’t go far wrong with a walk round the corner to Bambalina’s. We usually like to eat out at different restaurants, but because of the location, service & price we ended up visiting the place 4 times during our stay. Excellent food and just a few min walk. Wi-Fi. How did we exist before Wi-Fi? This was a god send for all of us. We could all keep connected and it came in hand in booking some tickets for one of the water parks and we got a big saving by booking in advance. Got to mention Tracy for all her help when we arrived and pointing us in the right direction several times during our stay. Nice to know that there is someone there to guide you when you need a little help. Also a thank you to Franck for all the information you provided us with before we arrived, a massive help. We don’t usually go back to the same place as we like to see different places, but I feel that we will have to make an exception this time and we all look forward to another visit in the not too distant future.

Great holiday, faultless service!

  • 5 of 5

What can I say... we had a fantastic week at villa rosamaria and its all thanks to franck!!

Villa was as descibred and Tracy and Pete who met us there were more than helpful. Francks helpful advice and guidance before travel was above and beyond what you would get from your high street travel agents and as a group of twenty somethings looking for a realxing first holiday outside the UK we couldnt have asked for more.

The villa was clean and the pool was fantastic. The location is very peaceful and there are some great local restaurants, one within walking distance. I will also add that the villa bbq came in handy on a copule of occassions and the local supermarket can cater for all your needs.

We spet most of our time exploring the local villages and beaches which were not too busy and very well maintained. Great for snorkling and fishing enthusiasts as we are.

We also went to Salou a few times which is 20 minutes away by car ( car hire is a must) and is great for shopping, atmospheric beaches and good food. We also went to Port Aventura theme park which put most UK theme parks to shame. A great day out for everyone.

We are planning on returning again next year as there is so much we still want to do and explore. Recommended for all age grouos looking for a relaxing holiday owith loads to do only a short car ride away.

Thanks again to Frank for all the help and guidence. We will be in touch again in the future.

Great Villa (& Hospital was excellent)

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to Franck for making the booking process run smoothly and all the extra tips ahead of the holiday. Also, a big thanks to Peter & Tracey for all their help while we were in Spain.

Villa, pool, local beaches & general location were excellent and perfect if you have a family to entertain. The kids couldn't get enough of the pool and the beaches were all sandy, safe and with lots of facilities.

We did have a medical emergency while away, whereby our 5 year old daughter was hospitalised in Tortosa for 2 days with a chest infection brought over from the UK. Which did put a bit of a dampener on the holiday, but the hospital was excellent, so if anyone else experiences a similar misfortune then be assured that you will be well looked after.

Apart from that we all had a great time and couldn't fault anything. I'm sure we will return again in the next few years.

Owner's Response: So glad we were able to help when your little one got poorly and thanks for your kind words about our service for you. Our pool and the excellent local beaches seem to seal it for most of our guests. Often the plans to go here and visit there go out the window as everyone likes the pool and the choice of local beaches. Hope very much to have you back. Pete & Tracey said to say thanks for being so easy to look after. Regards Franck & Ellie (Owners)

We had a great time

  • 5 of 5

This was our first go at booking a villa and we approached it warily. Franck & Ellie made it so easy for us with lots of good advice before we set off and amazing easy directions from the airport at Reus. The villa was just what we hoped for. Clean and very comfortable with everything we would have needed and more. The free WiFi was a bonus we weren't expecting. Our own pool was wonderful and we could leave things lying around while we went in for lunch. Much better than a hotel pool. Daniel the pool cleaning guy is very friendly. The Port Aventura Parc is not too far away and we all enjoyed the train ride to Barcelona. Local restaurants and bars were not expensive and the owners recommendation for the Menu el Dia at the hotel in Almadrava was spot on. 12 Euros for a great 3 cse meal with a bottle of wine - each. We have already rebooked the villa for next year.

From the Owner

We bought in this location because it was away from the maddening crowd but easy to get to by air and close to the motorway to make it really easy to access. The very many local beaches are far removed from the crowded Benidorm effect and are so clean. Midweek they are not normally busy so you have plenty of choice. One of the main attractions for us and it seems for most of our guests is that the villa has its own private pool which means no fighting for loungers and you can leave your belongings out when you pop in to the villa for a drink or snack. Its also so easy to get anywhere from the villa as close-by you have the railway, motorway and coastal road to get you around at a speed to suit your holiday style.

Benefits: Wow where do I start? Relaxing. Tranquil. Private. Access to many great clean hassle free beaches. Many local airports within reasonable distance to suit home departures. Easy to get to by road and rail. Away from crowds and football bars. Great mountain views. We have had honeymooners, couples, families, Scottish, English, Welsh, Irish, Dutch, Belgian, Russian, Norwegian and Finnish guests and even guests who have come back for 3 years running who all said they really enjoyed themselves. I guess we must be doing something right! Unlike similar properties in the village, the villa is not 'overshadowed' by neighbouring properties as we have an open aspect to the front with great mountain views off into the distance. Why not book and see what you're missing?
