Apartment in Armacao de Pera, Central Algarve, Portugal - 5 Minutes leisurely stroll to Beach, Shops, Bars and Restaurants

The apartment is in a superb location in a peaceful position on the borders of the old town and the new and just a few minutes walk from the fabulous beach. Take a leisurely stroll past the numerous cafes and bistro's to our five mile long, golden sandy beach where you can enjoy lunch at one of the many beach front cafes or restaurants. There are several handy supermarkets too for those who prefer self catering. The apartment is spacious, comfortably furnished and air-conditioned. English freesat TV -not many programs currently available in Portugal but there's is a TV and DVD/VHS video player. There is a balcony leading off from the lounge to sit and enjoy that cool glass of wine at the end of a busy days sightseeing or to watch the more energetic folks swimming in the pool.

About Carol

We are Adrian and Carol. We have a teenage daughter, a daughter and a son in their 20's and 2 young grandsons.

We love Armacao de Pera as there is so much to do and see within easy travelling distance. Adrian and I love the peaceful area of our apartment but our daughters love the fact that they can find a lively bar within easy walking distance and we are happy that it is a safe area for them to be out and about in. The whole town is very family orientated and child friendly. Children are made just as welcome in the restaurants in the evenings as during the day. Our grandchildren love the new playground area by the beach that was created in 2010 when the whole seafront had a 10 million euro face lift and became a pedestrianised area. The apartment is a much loved second home from home.

Why Carol chose Silves region

We bought the apartment because we love the location.

It is so central to everything. It is in a quiet spot but only a few minutes walk to all the shops, bars, restaurants and most importantly - the gorgeous beach. We just love our apartment and only wish we could spend a lot more time there.

We like to stay in the cooler months as it can be very hot in the summer, particularly in July and August. June and September are our favourite months but even in December and January we have enjoyed temperatures of 22 to 25 degrees some days. Even when its a bit cooler and drizzly, its still a lot warmer than in the UK!

What makes this apartment unique

Personally, we like to hire a car so that we can visit some of the wonderful old villages as well as the water parks and local attractions but the great thing about our location is that it is not essential to have a car. Public transport is available and so much is within easy walking distance. Most of the attractions have a courtesy bus service too (but you usually need to book the day before).

We have tried to make the apartment a comfortable second home rather than just a rental property and if there is anything our guests suggest, we try to act on it. Its the little things that make all the difference.

Notes on accommodation: The air-conditioning is reversible therefore heating available in the cooler months. Secure underground parking with lifts to all floors. Medical centre and English speaking dentists just a few minutes walk away. We would request that guests do not smoke in the apartment and no pets are permitted. Smoke and gas detector alarms are fitted in the apartment. Portuguese rental licence held. Outside: There are 2 outdoor pools in the development (one is a smaller one for the children) which are accessed by a locked gate. The apartment balcony overlooks the pools so that you can enjoy a nice relaxing glass of wine whilst watching the swimmers having fun if you don't fancy getting wet yourself! Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and bathroom towels are included but beach towels are not provided. Linen and towels changed mid stay by arrangement. Other: Large airy entrance hallway with built in cupboards.

Delightful apartment.

We arrived to a super welcome from Teresa. Who showed us around the apartment and answered any questions we had. It was great to have milk and wine in the fridge after a late flight there. Thanks Carol!

The apartment was great, we are a family of 4 and it had everything you need to self cater. It was also lovely and clean and well maintained. It was great having air conditioning in the bedrooms and sitting room. We sat on the balcony enjoying watching everyone having fun in the very clean swimming pools.Or having a dip ourselves! The area is very safe for the children. We thought the appartment's location was ideal, in a quiet area with a short walk to the main promanade.

Armacao de pera is a lovely location, it is super for families and couples a like. The taxis were reasonable and the Tourist information centre staff were very helpful and told us about bus times and deals to any attractions.

We visited Albuferia (busy, lots of shops and bars) Senhora da Rocha (beautiful views and beaches) and Aqualand (a lovely family day out).

There are plenty of different types of restaurants and several reasonable supermarkets relatively close.

We had a lovely meal at the Clipper watching the sun set. There are two lovely cafes in close proximity to the apartment also. (Great english breakfast!)

Finally Carol (the owner) was lovely and answered any queries i had quickly. Thank you Carol,we'll be back!!

The apartment was spotless and Teresa gave us a tour and let us know where everything could be found. Plenty of extra towels were available as were sheets. Great shower in the apartment water gushed out plenty of hot water. Although we did not use the pools (2) there were enough loungers available. The beach is only about 5 minutes walk from the apartment. We ate out most nights and found the Algar's food very good value and the waiter Lewish was great with my grandson Ethan. We also ate at Pippa and their roast leg of lamb was superb. The Italian restaurant was amazing and food portions wow!. I would certainly recommend this apartment as it had EVERYTHING you could possible need. On our last day Teresa baked a cake for us - it was delicious thank you again Teresa and thanks to Carol for living up to the description of her property. Nancy Emma Joan and Ethan - Glasgow

spacious and comfy.

Great location a genuine 5 minutes walk from the beautiful beach and lovely promenade.

A great home from home experience with all you need for self catering, especially a washing machine! The only minor niggle was that there was no sun on the balcony, which overlooked the pool but this would be an advantage in the very hot summer months. Very clean and well furnished.

We were made very welcome on arrival by Teresa, who explained all about the apartment, and who brought cakes for us which were very welcome! She could also be contacted if we had any problems or questions. We did have a problem with the TV but it was efficiently dealt with. The provision of milk, water, and wine in the fridge was greatly appreciated also.

We had a lovely holiday and would highly recommend Carol and Adrian's apartment. We would have no hesitation in booking again if we visit this resort in the future. Many thanks.

We had a lovely break here, the flat is very comfortable and spacious, well equipped and in excellent condition. Best of all it's only a 5 minute walk to the town and seafront.

A 25% deposit would be required to confirm the booking and balance to be paid 8 weeks before holiday commences. Payments can be made by personal cheque, bank transfer or Paypal if you prefer to pay by credit card. A refundable deposit of £200 to cover our insurance excess would be requested prior to arrival. This can be paid by a cheque which would not be banked and your cheque would be returned to you within 7 days of you vacating the apartment without incident.

Changeover Day:
Changeover days can be flexible. On arrival guests will be able to access the apartment after 2pm and are requested to vacate the apartment by 10am when leaving to allow time for the apartment to be cleaned for the next guests.
