Spacious and idyllic

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a week at Le Pelican. It is very spacious and clean and in a great location for visits to country and coast. We went to St Malo and Dinard which were only an hours drive away to name but a few. Discovering small villages with delightful bar/brasseries is a must, and also a visit to Villedieu les Poeles for the copper making and bell foundry. You can find a village market on any day for the immediate area, and FREE PARKING !! And I mustn't forget Champrepus Zoo, even without children it is a great day out.

A very big thank you to Helen and family for the use of their property which has everything you would ever need; and we certainly hope to return here again.

lovely home from home

  • 5 of 5

This was my second visit to Le Pelican this year, and it was just as good as the first time. Lovely house with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Great nights sleep in the comfy bed too! Great area for exploring, love Avranches, some nice little restaurants and the market on Sundays. Would definitely recommend!

A perfect family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had the most wonderful weeks stay in Le Pelican. The pictures on the website really do not reflect the true beauty and size of the property. The Gite itself is very well equipped and has everything you need to self cater. It was very clean and comfortably furnished and had a great home from home feel. It's ideally located for those who wish to explore. We managed to fit in many days out to Le Mont St Michel, Bayeux, The DD beaches as well as a variety of beaches along the coastal route - Carolles was our favourite but the girls favoured Jouliouville. On one of our days out to Mortain to see the waterfalls we discovered a bar in Neufbourg called L'Abbaye which was run by an English couple and where we returned for a most delicious evening meal. We would highly recommend this beautiful Gite, it really did not disappoint and we would happily return. Thanks Helen for allowing us to enjoy your truly wonderful French home.

Beautiful rural spot in a gite with English touche

  • 4 of 5

The gite space downstairs and outside is great, space for the kids to play and enjoy the house. A small but we'll equipped kitchen and sitting out looking at the corn was really relaxing. The bedrooms all worked well for us and the place was very well put together. We felt great value and the location much more than we had hoped, nice walk to the boulangerie with the kids as well! Helen was truly helpful and a great host.

Ps some English TV during the Olympics was a godsend.

Le Pelican - a perfect place for a holiday

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have just spent a wonderful fortnight at Le Pelican. The gorgeous property is far larger than the photographs suggest. It is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the views from the bedroom are lovely. It has the WOW factor! The kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of books, games, DVDs and local information available. The garden is great for the kids and I enjoyed lying on a lounger reading or preparing a meal to eat outside on the decking area! The property is superbly positioned for quick and easy access to lots of places: beaches, castles, walks, local markets (St Hilaire and Avranches are great), outdoor pool at Brecey, Enchanted Village, Mont Saint Michel, Botanical gardens, shops, restaurants etc..... The owners are lovely. They provided lots of helpful information beforehand and our deposit was returned very promptly. My only regret is that we don't live there and we that we had to leave!! A perfect holiday, thank you!

Immaculate home from home.

  • 5 of 5

Le Pelican. This really is a beautiful property, a real home from home as everything you need is provided, and it is well maintained and immaculately clean and tidy. The beds were fresh and comfortable. The Wi-fi is a real bonus to keep in touch with the world especially if you are house hunting or need to keep the kids occupied. The garden is ideal and very relaxing to sit in in the evening on the decking, as the sun hits it perfectly. The location was great for what I needed as there is somewhere to go in either direction. Enjoyed the market at Avranches on Saturday and there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops there also. Helen provided very detailed information on directions and emergency contact details, and local area info. which was excellent. So all in all, had a lovely, relaxing, stress free time at Le Pelican. I would definately stay again and would without doubt recommend to others.
