About the Owner

Hi, we are Jackie, Dave and Hannah Sims, We live in Manchester. We are self employed so we have to juggle our times around quite often to go to Kalkan but we do try to go as often as we can.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely resort and locals very friendly, the photos do not do the property justice as it is much larger than the pictures suggest.

great time, lots of great places to eat.

Much more spacious than we expected, amenities very sufficient for our needs. And the pool attendant/host very polite and helpful.

we have never been to a villa that has so much storage space, really lovely.

Fantastic Family Villa, in a Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

This our second stay at Villa Hannah. A great family villa with ample space and open plan living area downstairs leading onto outside sheltered dining table and pool.

Ideal villa for a family with everything you need, including use of a travel cot, high chair and buggy which is a massive help!

Within a short walk to Kalamar beach club, and around 15minute walk to town. The road into town also appears to be up and coming with some great new restaurants appearing along the way, especially Porcinis.

Would highly recommend this, very peaceful location and as I said everything you need for a family.

Richard

Beautiful, peaceful and well kept.

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to this villa in 2 years and it's the only time we have ever returned to the same property. It's a very clean spacious villa which is well equipped. It is situated a short taxi drive from town if you stay in the height of summer like we did - or you can walk in if it's not so hot. But within easy walking distance are several restaurants including the Yelkin and the Brothers which we'd recommend. There's also a small supermarket within 2 minute's walk. The property is in a peaceful location and feels very private, especially at ground level. There are balconies on both the first and second floors so you are spoiled for choice when you want to sit out in the evening. The second floor bedroom doesn't have a door, but does have a gate across the stairs so it's safe (our 7/8 year old slept there) but it does mean it doesn't get as cool as other bedrooms with the air conditioning on. The kitchen is one of the cleanest I have come across and is easy to keep ant free, unlike others we have stayed in. The pool has steps and a shallow end with the deep end still being just in depth for someone who is 5'4". A really helpful touch is the provision of pool towels in addition to bathroom ones. This meant we only needed to pack 2 beach towels for the 4 of us given that the children never sit still on the beach and that helped with packing. We'd highly recommend this villa, and Kalkan. Kalkan is a small, friendly reset with easy taxi/car access to an amazing range of things including Patara beach and ruins (beautiful spacious fine sand beach), Xanthos beach (smaller beach with fine pebbles and good waves), and Saklikent gorge. The restaurants are great and the Thursday market with it's pancake pop up cafes is worth a visit.

Comfortable relaxing villa

  • 5 of 5

Villa Hannah is a very well equipped, comfortable and spacious villa. The location is great, just tucked away off of the Kalamar Road but close to lots of nice places for lunch or evening meals. You can walk in to town in about 15 mins. The Garden is beautiful and the pool is just right to cool off in. We found the owner (Jackie) very helpful and easy to deal with. We would certainly highly recommend this villa.

Absolutely Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We came to Kalkan this year to attend a wedding - friends of ours holiday in Kalkan every year and decided to get married in the area. We decided to stay in Jackie and Dave's villa after seeing it on here and being impressed by the photos and price for 10 days in September. Well, can I just say that the photos don't do Villa Hannah justice - it's absolutely fantastic, perfect size, spotlessly clean, everything you need including WiFi, dishwasher and washing machine and to top it off it's in a brilliant location. Genuinely only a 10 minute walk into town & along that route are cafe/restaurants and bars (not loud disco types) that you can pop into for a quick refreshment if you're feeling a bit thirsty on the way! There are also a couple of local shops and a large pharmacy all within easy walking distance as well. We always got taxis back from town as it's a bit of a steep up hill walk, but they were only around 12 -13 Lira and very quick (there is a large taxi rank in the centre of town as well as being able to call them to book - all very easy). Despite being in such a wonderful location the area is so quiet and peaceful, you can't hear much when lazing by the pool except the birds! There is an English liaison provided who lives in Kalkan called Sally who was so helpful, she popped in to say hello and helped us start the washing machine, as well as providing us with a spare safe key when we stupidly (drunkenly) lost the original at the wedding we attended..! Thank you Sally! Jackie was so helpful in the lead up to the our holiday, answering all our questions and coming back to us quickly about things. We really have had an absolutely brilliant time in Kalkan this year, it was our first trip there and I can honestly say we will definitely be back again, what a wonderful town full of wonderful people (and wonderful dogs & cats!). We had some lovely little visitors to our villa, an affectionate, sweet little cat with a very unusual purr (look out for her and give her a cuddle from me) a very friendly local dog named Lisa, as well as Speedy the tortoise! We loved seeing them but they were very good and would leave when we told them to so if you're not an animal person then please don't worry. We are now supporting the local animal charity as a result of meeting these lovely animals. All in all - fantastic holiday, thank you so much Jackie & Dave! x

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Hannah is fantastic. It is beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and well equipped. We have holidayed through owners direct for several years now and Villa Hannah is among the best properties we've stayed in. What it offers that many don't, is an English contact in Kalkan. Sally was unobtrusive but popped by to say hello and we had her email if needed. It was good to know someone was there if needed. (On previous holidays we have ended up trying to phone owners in England for emergency repairs.) There are 2 supermarkets within easy walking distance and several restaurants including the Yelkin which is excellent and rates highly on trip advisor. The pool is well designed and with the size and shape was excellent for our children aged 7 & 9. There is a welcome pack of food and cleaning things such as dishwasher tablets but in addition to this, stocks left by previous guests are really helpful. It means you're then happy to buy and leave whatever runs out and that makes things both easier and cheaper. It's a longer walk to the harbour but manageable unless you hit a heatwave like we did. We'd recommend this villa and would happily go back.

Lovely spacious villa Hannah

  • 5 of 5

Villa Hannah is a lovely light spacious villa, very clean and well maintained with large rooms internally and loads of space externally. The pool area has more than enough space for everyone to spread out and not feel squat up by everyone else. The pool is a good safe with nice safe access steps sloping down to a deep end of only about 5ft which is perfect. The outside dining area is great with the awning giving shade later in the day when needed. The swinging hammock over looks the very well maintained garden of lawn and trees.

The villa is situated in a very quiet area and does enjoy a sea view from both roof terraces. Two supermarkets are within easy walking distance, with half a dozen restaurants also close by cafe Vita is the closest and does an excellent cooked breakfast, which is great value along with the rest of their menu. I would recommend both Yelkin and the brothers as very good restaurants.

This was our third holiday in Kalkan, and certainly won't be our last, I would definatley consider booking villa Hannah again, as we had a very relaxed enjoyable time.

Location

From the Owner

We have had villa Hannah since June 06 and now we would like to share our lovely villa with other people, as we feel it is such a lovely place to go and visit. We went to Kalkan with our friends, one of which is Turkish and loved the resort. We had been to Turkey a few times before, but they were quite lively resorts, whereas Kalkan is not like that. We felt more at ease with the lovely location and the pretty village of Kalkan (there are no boom boom discos). Not ideal for groups of girls or boys who want to party all night long, although there are a few lively bars around.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach to the villa is in Kalkan town which is approx a 5 minute drive. There is also a private beach(kalamar) which is rocky and has a small jetty, pedalos, trampoline in sea, scuba diving centre which is also approx. 5 mins. They offer free taxi pickup drop off service. The largest sandy beach which is Patara (very beautiful) is approx. 20 minutes drive by taxi or local buses which would be approx. 25 mins.

Travel:

The closest airport to Kalkan is Dalaman. This is approx 1.5-2 hours drive. We use the local taxi/car hire service for transfers to the villa who are very reliable (at an additional charge, prices upon request). Antalya airport is approx. 3-3.5 hours drive as an alternative to Dalaman.

Distances:

Patara beach, a beautiful golden sandy beach approx 20 mins by car 25 mins by the local bus. Kalkan town is approx 15 mins by walking, 5 minutes by car. Kas, the next pretty town, stunning views driving along the coastline, approx 30 mins by car.

Further Details:

The local shop to the villa is a 3 minute walk, which have all the basics of shopping for essentials, also the nearest cafe is 3 minute walk, cafe vita and cafe aqua which serve good food if you don't want to go into town. There are plenty of banks in Kalkan town, there are also lots of lovely rooftop restaurants in town to suit lots of budgets. We use the local travel agency for tours and trips should you be interested on any tours, ie jeep safari, scuba diving, boat trips, horse riding and we find that they are all good value for your money.

Facilities

From the Owner

The villa is quite unique for the area, as it has very large private walled grounds and garden. Also with swing, and swimming pool with the gardens now getting quite established over the last 10 years. We like the location as it is quite quiet, not directly in the town, which is a nice stroll away. There are apartments and only a few villas around the area and is some parts are residential. There is also the local cafe (cafe vita) which is 2 minutes walk and do good food at reasonable prices if you don't want to go into town. Recently opened is the yelkin restaurant which is highly recommended and 2 minutes from the property. There are now a few more restaurants that have been established over the past year that are very close by to the villa which are very nice. Just say jackie and dave have sent you, you may get a discount!
