Penstowe Park Holiday Park has been awarded 4 stars by the English Tourism Council and is set in beautiful surroundings with a 19th Century Manor House, care has been taken with landscaping within Penstowe and special areas have been set aside for car parking. This feature adds a measure of safety for children at play, whilst allowing easy access to the chalet. Close to the Manor House is a former Stable Block, this has been converted into the Stables Bar which offer great food and company. The site also contains a shop, games room, laundrette, outdoor swimming pool with children's paddling pool. These facilities are free to use for patrons of the holiday park. Penstowe holiday park offers excellent leisure facilities including: Indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna. Badminton, Squash, Indoor Bowls, Tennis Courts.

ideal for exploring coastal path

The property smelt of damp when we opened the door. The décor was old and tired. There were plenty of heating devices which were needed as it was very cold when we stayed in September.

Apart from that it is probably lovely in the summer when you can have the doors and windows open. It was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils.

The location is ideal for the coastal walks. The facilities on the site were good.

Location

My parents originally purchased the chalet after we had all been on holiday there when the children were small. We fell in love with Penstowe, the children could play on the grass out the front of the chalet and we always found something to keep them occupied at all ages. We took over the running of the chalet in 2011, updated and re-decorated it and are looking forward to our 4th season

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is a national trust beach at Sandymouth Bay, approx 3 miles away. There are many other safe, clean sandy beaches and coves in the vicinity, which have received the prestigious Seaside Awards for clean sands, good management and high water quality from the EU.

The site is well located for those planning a touring holiday in Devon & Cornwall. Dartmoor, Exmor, Eden Project and all the Cornish and Devon resorts such as Tintagel, Boscastle and Clovelly are within easy reach.

Further Details:

Our weekly rates run from Saturday to Saturday. We also do Friday to Monday (3 night breaks) and Monday to Friday (4 night breaks). Electricity is provided and payable upon meter readings. £100 per week deposit is payable with your booking. The balance is due 4 (four) weeks before your holiday is due to commence. A separate refundable deposit of £50 is required for the keys and part payment of electricity. Please send a separate cheque for this amount with your main deposit, this will then be returned to you on receipt of keys and all of your electricity payment. Arrivals are from 2.00pm on the first day of your holiday and you must vacate the chalet by 10.00am on the day of departure, leaving it in a clean condition. Hire passes to the Manor House are not included in the price. If you have to cancel your holiday please let us know by phone then follow it in writing. If we manage to re-let you may only lose your deposit. Otherwise you may be liable for the full amount outstanding. We do not accept any liability for the loss of or damage to, personal effects, baggage, car, car accessories, or any other item belonging to the hirers party, except insofar as the loss or damage arises from a substantial defect or damage existing in the chalet which was known or should have been known to us but for our negligence. Please note we operate a strictly non smoking policy within the chalet.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Electricity is provided via a meter which is payable upon meter readings (a % is required when booking). Unfortunately we do not allow pets of any kind and the chalet is non smoking Outside: Penstowe Park is in the village of Kilkhampton which is 8km from Bude on the A39. The village is full of Cornish character and is only a few minutes walk away from the chalet. It has 2 pubs, fish & chip shop, a post office and 2 grocery shops. There is also a Chinese Restaurant on the outskirts whom offer great takeaways. The area also offers excellent opportunitites for walking, golfing, fishing, horse-riding and of course, surfing, for which Bude is internationally famous. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We do employ cleaners whom will clean before and after your departure. However we do expect you to leave the chalet in a clean and tidy condition. Bedlinen, towels & t-towels are not provided.
