A spacious fully equipped 2 bedroom apartment located in the heart of Val de Parra, Gale, Albufeira. Having been tastefully decorated and furnished to the most high standard. As part of a brand new, small and private complex with it's own grounds and pool. Close to Gale beach (25 mins walk) with Salgados and Sao Rafael on the doorstep. A great location to access Salgados golf course, Algarve Shopping Centre, Zoo Marine and Aqualand all just a short drive away. Try out the traditional Portuguese dish of chicken piri piri in the town of Guia home to the dish only 5 mins drive away. In walking distance to the restaurants and bars of Gale.

About the Owner

My name is Anne and I had never visited Portugal before. It was on that first visit that I put my deposit down on the apartment.

I would consider myself fairly well travelled as regards to Europe and something about Vale De Parra, the apartment and its surroundings blew me away.

We want to thank you very much for providing your “home” to us for our very relaxing 5 weeks. We traveled all over the Algarve and being centrally located was perfect. The condo was totally comfortable and your friends who live there were very helpful.

As for your apartment....we loved it room your furnishing and the space were outstanding....the girls loved it.....we loved it and to be honest, I think if anything you understate just how good it is. The location is fantastic for whatever you may want to do.....8 minutes drive to the Old Town...I couldn't have picked it better to be fair.

Your generosity at the booking stage and your communications throughout have been terrific....we are very appreciative of you allowing us to stay in your little place of excellence....Thank you!

Great apartment, terrible owner

Bad points - Being home almost a week after I have left the apartment trying to get in contact with with several e-mails to Anne regarding deposit refund, I have been advised it will not be returned due to an extra guest. I had advised Anne of this weeks in advance and was never told this would be an issue. The owner had also changed the price for the 11 night stay, after I had sent the first deposit. I didn't make an issue of this as the cost was being split between our party.

Anybody that is due to stay, I would advise to have Anne fix the balcony door in the kitchen and the washing machine, as speaking with this woman will do anything not to refund any moneys. Our party were able to share this, the next party may not.

Good points - The apartment is clean with plenty of room, pool and area is nice and quiet. The 2 little snack bars across the street where handy and cheap with nice staff, we usually walked down the road to Cabanitas, more array of food and had all sports GAA etc, also close to a bigger market with an ATM machine close by.

We had a great holiday but I've used Owners Direct for 5 years in a row with 8 different apartments and this is the first bad experience I've had, I'll be using this site again in the near future but I'll be staying away from this owner, good luck to future guests.

Vale de Parra is within walking distance of Gale beach, a very pretty, sheltered beach. There is a variety of excellent bars, restaurants and shops selling British newspapers. Close by is the traditional village of Guia which is reputed to have 21 restaurants and is the home of chicken piri-piri! Guia is also home to "Algarve Shopping", a mall with excellent shops, bowling, multiplex cinema (with films in English) and a large supermarket. There is something for everyone. The bustling town of Albufeira with its lively nightlife or the old town of Albufeira where you can sit in the cobbled square, enjoying a drink or meal in one of the many cafes/restaurants, watching the world go by. For keen golfers, the only problem is which course to choose to tee off from !

Special interest holidays:

Water sports are available along the Algarve Coast, luxury Yacht cruises from Vilamoura. Big game fishing including shark fishing from Portimao, 20 minutes drive. Zoo marina with its superb aqua shows also offers an interactive dolphin programme, 5 minutes drive from Guia.

Boat trips offering grotto tours, champagne criuses and dolphin watching depart daily from Albureira marina.

Local riding stables offer beach rides. Panoramic mountain trekking is available inland, 2 hour or daily treks including lunch are available, approx 40 minute drive from Guia.

Go-karting track is at Almancil, 20 min drive.


The Algarve coast is known for its beautiful beaches. The nearest beaches are Gale and Salgados which are both less than 5 minutes by car, 30 min on foot. These offer several kilometres of sandy beach. This stretch of coastline has many other coves and beaches for you to discover.


The apartment is approximately 35 mins drive from Faro airport and car hire is recommended although not essential. As well as the glorious beaches there are some wonderful places to explore in the surrounding area.


The apartment is 5 min walk to a mini market. Next to two local bars a authentic portuguese restaurant, serving local traditional cuisine. A take away eatery which is popular far and wide for its delicious food. More bars and restaurants are located within a 10 min walk. Lively Albufeira is approx 10 mins by car, taxi or bus. The Old Town in Albufeira is particularly special where there are an abundance of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and ages.

As well as having a full range of local facilities this location provides an excellent base for exploring other parts of the beautiful Algarve, both along the coast and through rural landscapes up to the mountains of Monchique. The apartment is nestled in between the towns of Gale, Guia and Albufeira.

Airport pick-ups and drop-offs can be arranged at cost, upon request. Various welcome packs can also be arranged and will be placed in the apartment for your arrival. Should you have a larger party of family or friends it is possible for us to arrange rental of other apartments for you within the complex. A cot and highchair can be arranged in the apartment at an extra cost. There is secure underground parking on the complex and a reserved space for the apartment

Changeover day is flexible. The apartment is available on the day of arrival from 2pm and on departure day the apartment must be vacated by 10am where there is a party coming into or leaving the apartment on the same day.
