About the property

Cottage in Fairford, The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, England - Newly Renovated in a Contemporary Style

Originally a 16th Century bakery, Wishbone is a period Cotswold Stone Cottage in a row of terraced limestone property on Milton Street in the pretty market town of Fairford, which is situated in the beautiful Coln Valley and the Cotswold Water Park. Wishbone has recently undergone complete restoration, retaining the essence of a Cotswold Cottage blended with modern colour and current technology in a contemporary style. Comfortably furnished and well equipped to a high standard on the background of the original flagstone and wooden floors and exposed stone walls. It provides guests with an elegant relaxing stay. Everything is catered for in Fairford, and guests are able to walk into the town to shop and eat. You can easily join the many beautiful walks in and around Fairford. Further afield is the Roman town of Cirencester, the village of Bibury with its trout farm and the famous Arlington Row, Burford Wildlife Park, Westonbirt Arboretum, and the Spa town of Cheltenham are all close by.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is just beautiful and is perfect for a lovely getaway. It has everything you could need, including a cosy log burner. The owners were just so kind and helpful. Couldn't fault our stay (so much so that we've been twice!) can't wait to go back. I would 100% recommend.

Fantastic !!!!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was designed to ensure everything was to hand, the lighting was spot on..... the bedding was first rate and so clean. Everything we found was exactly as advertised. Even the garden and lighting round the trees at the summer house was splendid even in the winter !!! I would recommend this to anyone requiring a much needed break ........ cleanliness was 110% throughout. Cooking facilities second to none.

Also Karen met us at the house and made us feel very much at home, lovely flowers, mince pies and bottle of Elderflower presse !!!!

Karen made it clear that should we require any help to contact her immediately without any hesitation.

We didnt need to use log burner boo hoo !!!!! as the cottage was really cosy and warm.

Thankyou for contacting us for our feedback, this shows

that you care about the customers who rent your cottages.

Charming cottage with everything you need for a happy, happy holiday!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful long weekend here. The cottage was warm and inviting and a good base to return to after delightful days wandering around the Cotswolds. This is one of many visits to the Cotswolds and they still charm us! We can recommend the Cotswolds Wildlife Park, Broadway, Bourton on the Water, Chipping Campden, Burford, Stow on the Wold. We also visited Snowshill Manor on the way here - that was a fascinating place too! We had a warm welcome and delicious meal at the Railway Inn and we can also recommend the Colisseo Italian restaurant - one of the best pizzas ever!! The cottage was very clean and all the appliances were easy to use. The owner took the time to ensure that we were happy and we would not hesitate to return.

Beautiful....

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip to The Cotswolds was definitely one to remember after discovering this lovely little cottage. Beautifully maintained, it was comfy and cosy with a very homely feel. Although we took quite a few essentials with us, this wasn't necessary as the cottage is fully equipped with everything you need, from kitchen utensils to soft fluffy towels. We arrived at the cottage to a lovely welcome from it's owner Karen and left with a warm fuzzy glow and an excitement to return again soon!

Lovely Place in a Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic cottage with great facilities! Booking was easy, and the owners were a pleasure to deal with.

Listing is underselling a little as the place is much bigger than it looks.

All in great condition and well maintained.

Lots of great pubs in the town, and a lovely walk across the fields at the back to some other great places to eat and drink.

Spot on for a long weekend or longer!!!
