Apartment in Barton On Sea, New Milton, Hampshire, England - Quiet Location, 7 Minutes Walk To The Beach

The apartment is on 3 levels, walk into your own front door, upstairs to the first floor. On this level is the large kitchen/diner and the lounge. Upstairs to the next level, here are the 2 bedrooms with a bathroom between. Both levels are extremely bright and airy with large windows that give maximum light. From the main bedroom and lounge there is a view over the rear gardens and on a clear day over the roof tops can be seen the Isle of Wight needles. The view from the kitchen and second bedroom is to the front of the property, where you can view Victorian terraces with there colorful frontages. This is a very peaceful and tranquil location.

About the Owner

I live in England with my daughter, my husband is currently working in Abu Dhabi and I spend my time travelling to and fro and looking after the holiday bookings. I do not work now, I left my job with an airline when my husband started to work abroad so that I had the time to visit him. Our daughter is 23 and still lives at home so I like to share my time between both of them. We have two apartments that we rent for holidays, one in Spain, the other in England. We hope in the future to be able to use them more than we do now as we love both of them. We have fantastic people to look after them for us, both apartments are kept to the highest standard, cleanliness is very important to us and we have made sure there is everything you will need for a great holiday.

Fantastic apartment and location

This apartment is simply the best. We really enjoyed our stay there over the Christmas period. It's location is perfectly placed near to the New Forest, Bournemouth and easy to grab a train to London if you fancy some time there. The apartment is extremely clean and has everything you need. A real "home-from-home". We would totally recommend this property.

Great spacious clean flat

Great spacious and well appointed flat but the lack of proper shower and washing machine a real draw back. Also parking in the evening a nightmare

Owner's Response: In the advert detailing the flat it does say that there is not a washing machine, we preferred to install a dish washer. Also one of the pictures in the advert clearly shows a corner bath with a shower included and this is the first negative comment we have had about the shower. Concerning the parking, again we have never had a complaint, there are plenty of spaces but not always directly in front of the apartments.

The apartment was exceptionally clean, well equipped and very tastefully styled. Location is within walking distance of the sea front and close to a bus stop. Good cliff top walks. All of which contributed to a great week. Contact with the owner at all times was excellent

Luxury Apartment

This is a super apartment that is immaculate, modern and very spacious. It also has a very well equipped kitchen. It is ideally placed to allow easy access to both the New Forest and Seaside towns. It is a real home from home and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

This apartment is in such a great location, just a few mins walk to the top of the cliffs at Barton and only a 10 mins drive to the forest. We bought this apartment after seeing several properties we liked but thought this was the best place for a holiday home. Such a lovely bright modern apartment in a quiet location but near to so many attractions and places of interest. The pub at the end of the road is ideal if you don't want to drive or cook plus a short walk to the cliffs and you will find a hotel serving food, a cafe and a Mitchelin Star restaurant. It was all this that made us realise it was the place for our holiday home. We hope you agree.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended


Approximately 7 minutes walk to the top of the cliffs at Barton-on-Sea. From here Highcliffe and Mudeford can be reached by walking, which would take about 20 minutes. Alternatively, drive to Highcliffe in a few minutes where there are long stretches of golden sand. Bournemouth is about 20-30 minutes drive and here you can find some of the best beaches on the South Coast.


The nearest airports are Bournemouth and Southampton. A car is not essential but recommended for ease of travel.


The nearest main towns by car are New Milton (5 mins), Highcliffe (5 mins), Christchurch (10 mins), Lymington (15 mins), Bournemouth (20-30 mins). Many small villages and places of interest are close by.

Further Details:

Pub/restaurant, The House Martin, is a few minutes walk, very good food, reasonably priced, great for families. On the cliff tops at Barton for breakfast, try the Beachcomber Cafe or for a special treat have lunch or dinner (must book) at the Pebble Beach which boasts a Mitchelin Star Chef. Numerous pubs and restaurants can be found by driving through the forest. The nearest supermarkets are in Highcliffe and New Milton along with banks and Post offices. There is a small village shop/post office/hairdresser within walking distance. There are many activities to participate in, for all ages, such as, horse riding, bike riding, crab fishing, sailing, swimming, kite flying, to name a few.

Whilst using the apartment you have the benefit of living in a bright, airy, modern and exceptionally clean home. A great place to come back to after a day out. From the front windows, the kitchen & 2nd bedroom you can view the charming old terraced houses and from the back, the lounge and the main bedroom, the view is of the gardens. Barton-on-Sea is certainly a great place to stay, so central to everywhere you will want to visit whilst on holiday. All the small New Forest Villages, Burley, Lymington, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst etc are within easy reach as well as the bigger towns of Southampton, Bournemouth & Portsmouth etc. It is a great destination for adults and children alike.
