Perfect large group retreat

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing weekend we had and the facilities Brookfields offered was absolutely perfect. Our large group of friends all loved the house and we were overwhelmed by how perfect it was for us all. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the bathrooms modern. Despite the large size there was no risk of running out of hot water either. One of our group brought her baby with her yet the walls were pretty much soundproof and the box of baby toys was a god send for her :)

The place has great facilities with the extra large kitchen, fully equipped, plenty of crockery, glasses, mugs and coffee cafetieres! We stayed in both evenings so we could enjoy the company of each other as were hosting a celebration and hadn’t seen each other in a long time, so the place was perfect, but equally we could have quickly walked into the town for cafes, pubs and restaurants as everything like that is only 5 minutes away. The house had the size and space we needed as well as the cooking facilities (and 2 dishwashers) so we enjoyed ourselves more staying in.

We did take advantage of the great location to take a walk through Carding Valley Mill and up the long Mynd (a national trust walk) which was a fabulous way to blow away the cobwebs.

Everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the towels/bedding were all fresh, bright and new looking.

Our group loved the sauna too for a relax after the walk.

Thank you for giving us a great weekend, it could not have worked out better, all 12 of us loved it.

Great property but service lacks attention to detail.

  • 3 of 5

The house is beautiful and is fantastic for large group accommodation. Views and situation is perfect.

We had a great time but some details took away from the overall experience.

The owners seemed from the start unclear about the length and timing of our stay leading to incorrect requests for us to leave (a very uncomfortable experience). Items that were not as we expected were No mats for the floor for shower use, no soap on the sinks for washing hands after using the toilet, dishwasher full with dirty items and no iron.

I would recommend that you choose this property but check these things out.

Just stunning

Uni reunion plus our children so it was a full on weekend but this cottage was perfect. Walking distance from natural trust property, hot tub to relax in after a day of walking and loved the fact every room has it's own en-suite so no queues for the loo!. Well stocked kitchen and nice big garden for the children to run around in. Highly recommend this little gem.
