Villa in Moncarapacho, Eastern Algarve - Luxury Holiday Villa In A Peaceful Location Close To Airport, Beautiful Beaches And Golf Courses

This large villa is divided over three floors and offers beautiful views throughout of the surrounding area. You enter at ground level where you will find the spacious lounge with a fireplace including a large flat-screen TV. There is a separate dining area with a large table which seats 12 people. This dining area has access to the terrace and is adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped and of very high spec. On the lowest level is the games-room, a ping-pong table and a football table. Also here is a large flat-screen TV, so ideal for kids to spend their time, (can connect play-station etc). Outside at the ground entry level you have a very spacious terrace with stairs (can be closed off so kids can’t get to the pool), leading to the large salt water pool with roman-steps with around 5m x 12m. There is also a separate Jacuzzi/Spa adjacent to the pool.

The ability to be able to welcome all our guests and provide as high service and facilities as we can, combined with a wonderful climate are some of the factors why for the first time in the history of the “Tourism Oscars” world travel awards, Portugal has won the title of leading destination in December 2017. It also clinched the best European destination back in October 2017. Portugal combines history, tradition, sun, nature and gastronomy with a cosmopolitan twist that makes it attractive to everyone.

One of the key features that most of our guests much appreciate is the modern style and high finishings of the property and that is highlighted in our guest reviews. The other key feature that is also much appreciated is the location of the villa, that although in a rural area it is also near the sea. The villa is located within a valley in a natural reserve and is on an elevated position, so that it has wonderful views of the countryside around but also of the sea at a distance. The villa is secluded but not isolated with no immediate neighbors either side in a peaceful location, ideal for those looking for a relaxing holiday.

The nearest town of Moncarapacho is only 5 minutes drive away and the nearest beach is 10/15 minutes drive from the villa. Add to that the fact that it only takes around 25 minutes from the airport. So, our guests get the best of both worlds in terms of a peaceful location combined with very easy access and short distance to beaches and other facilities.

The Algarve enjoys one of the most stable climates in the world with its moderate and kind weather influenced by both the Atlantic and Mediterranean seas and its proximity to north Africa. Temperatures in the summer months from June to August can reach as high as 30°C. However, winds tend to keep the temperatures down a little with coastal breezes. During the spring and autumn months of March, April, May, September and October the temperatures in the Algarve average a pleasant 17°C to 19°C and this is accompanied with plenty of sunshine, although higher temperatures around 25°C can occur frequently. Temperatures in the winter months from November to February remain moderate and mild with bright sunny days with an average of 15 degrees.

"An excellent confortable house with lovely pool and excellent barbecue. We very much enjoyed playing on the tennis court. A great area for a holiday within easy reach of Faro airport. The beaches on the islands were beautiful with lovely swimming. Tavira is a lovely town. Olhao is interesting with wonderful markets - especially the fish market which is amazing. Lovely seafood - we recommend "O Livramento" on the front which has lovely, very reasonable food and is very friendly. Some of our party went a few times to Sagres to surf (only an hour and a half's drive). Others went downhill biking and road biking. We all visited Seville - beautiful! - less than two hour's drive. All in all an excellent location for a restful holiday."

Notes on accommodation: All the facilities being offered are for the private use of our guests. The Villa offers air conditioning and climate control heating throughout the top two floors (ie. 4 bedrooms (3 en-suite), lounge, dinning room and kitchen). The bedrooms on the first floor are both en-suite. On the ground floor one of the bedrooms is en-suite with the second having a bathroom just outside. The two twin bedrooms on the lowest level have no aircon but have fans instead. With all the facilities available this villa is very suitable for families looking for either an early spring holiday or a later autumn break ensuring that you will have all the comforts required. During the night the temperatures can drop and with climate control in place it will ensure that you will keep warm. Also in early spring or late autumn the pool is normally too cold for kids or fragile adults but with the option of having pool heating in place that is no problem. It offers "MEO" Sat. TV with 65 channels, some English spoken. Outside: Outside at the ground entry level you have a very spacious terrace with stairs (can be closed off so kids can’t get to the pool), leading to the large pool with roman-steps with around 12m x 5m. There is also a separate Jacuzzi/spa adjacent to the pool. The Saltwater pool can be heated on request. There is also a tennis court for the sole use of our guests. There are palm trees around the villa with some grassed areas in particular at the front of the house. The villa is located within a valley in a natural reserve and in an elevated position, so it has wonderful views of the countryside around it. From the terrace at night you can enjoy wonderful views of the night sky - the Milky Way is easily visible because there is no light pollution. The villa is secluded but not isolated and there are no immediate neighbours on either side. It is in a peaceful location ideal to have a relaxing holiday. There is also a fantastic BBQ for you to enjoy cooking and eating all fresco. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Weekly cleaning provided. This includes fresh towels and bed-linen once a week. Additional cleaning possible on request. Other: There is a separate air conditioned dining area adjacent to the living room with stylish modern furniture enough for 12 people to seat at the table and close to the kit

Stunning Villa with Wonderful Views, Family Holiday to Remember

After spending what felt like weeks looking for the perfect villa near to Tavira I finally came across this one. I instantly new it would be perfect for our family and what we wanted.

Having visited Tavira many times before we wanted something in the area for our family of 7 adults and 2 children (age 1 & 2)

On first impressions the villa is beautiful just outside the villa of Moncarapacho, we initially struggled with the directions (due to a very early start!) but Ian from MARS very kindly came and met us and drove us in. The service from Ian and the team whilst we were out there was second to none.

The Villa is very well kept, clean and modern, it was large and bright- and very quiet. The bedrooms had ample storage and the AC was brilliant. We had the double on the top floor with a balcony and a view of the sea which was just lovely. The villa also benefited from a fantastic terrace, we spent many evenings and nights here sat drinking wine in the sun until 9pm! It really was the WOW factor. Having small children we did have reservations however there is a lockable gate and the balcony is well protected.

The pool itself we paid to be heated which was absolutely worth it! We were all in it everyday, it's a great size and the jacuzzi is a great addition. The tennis court was also a huge highlight and the men spent many a day in competition.

In the evening we visited Fuzeta, Olhao 3 times and Tavira once. Although Tavira is our favourite it was just a bit too far in a taxi. Olhao however was beautiful and we had some fantastic meals out here, and the girls loved the bouncy castles!

I have to say the service from Valter the owner has been exceptional, always answering queries very quickly. We would certainly look to book again in the future but next time for longer!

The only things we did say which would be great to see for next time would be a fridge on the very ground level for drinks so you don't have to keep going upstairs, and also mattresses for some of the plastic sunloungers. These are minor points for what was an incredible family holiday!

It's also very rewarding to know that the villa offers a variety of entertaining facilities that I can see from Holly's experience is more accentuated if more time is spent at the Villa rather than travelling around, partly because of opting for taxis rather than car hire, or simply preferring a quieter holiday away from it all. We are also very pleased to hear that Holly knew the area very well from previous holidays, and with that knowledge and still having spent weeks looking for a perfect villa she decided to book Villa St Miguel. We are also extremely pleased to hear that the professional support of my management team led by Sara and Ian was considered second to none, as that is what we aim for every single time, and that is very much appreciated when recognised by our guests. Most importantly to us is the feedback received from guests, as that helps us improve what's on offer to ensure we can provide the best possible experience and service, and our guests are best placed to provide us with that information. We are pleased to inform that the recommendation to have another fridge at the lower level has now been implemented so that drinks can be kept chilled and much closer to the pool area. We also have acquired additional sunbeds and mattresses as suggested. Thanks Holly for choosing Villa St Miguel and it has been a pleasure to welcome families such as yourselves that not only know how to get the best out of it, but also are respectful to the property and that is much appreciated. We very much look forward to welcome you again in the near future :)

Nice modern house

A nice modern house in the middle of the country. The manager put up a Christmas tree for us and even some grocery since we were arriving on Christmas Eve. Very kind!

Probably wonderful house in summer since it has a great pool, tennis court, ping pong, etc... In the winter however, the downstairs floor is very cold (2 bedrooms including one with no window, just opening on the stairs) and there is no toilet in the bathroom, so too cold for children to have to run upstairs in the middle of the night. The floor heat didn’t work in most places either. But we managed ok and after a few days, got the house nice and warm.

Overall, a very nice stay with family.

Owner's Response: I am pleased you had a nice stay at the villa and appreciated the high standards of service provided by my manager as that is always our objective and to make our guests feel at home as much as possible. I am also pleased you managed to get the house nice and warm using the climate control heating. We do our best to give as clear information as possible to our guests and although the villa has 4 very high spec bathrooms in the top two floors, including en-suites, we make it clear on the website that the one on the lower floor only offers a walk in shower and washbasin. In terms of bedrooms, the ones on the top two floors are of a very high standard with some offering ensuite, with sliding french windows offering plenty of natural light and lovely views with some of them having a balcony or terrace. As for the two bedrooms on the lower floor, one has a window facing the swimming pool and the other has an internal window so without natural light. Unfortunately this year in December Portugal experienced some cold temperatures reaching at night as low as 4 degrees. The villa is however well equipped and provides climate control heating as well as a double fireplace as described on the website. Although it is also equipped with underfloor heating, this is a slow and less efficient kind of heating and is not on offer, and because children could easily turn on the underfloor heating in the summer months it was considered safe practice to disconnect it at the mains. Because the villa is a large villa and was empty the weeks before Christmas it takes a little longer to warm up to start with if low temperatures are being experienced. One of the key features that most of our guests much appreciate is the modern style and high finishings and the other is the location of the villa, that although in a rural area it is also near the sea. The villa is located within a valley in a natural reserve and is on an elevated position, so that it has wonderful views of the countryside around but also of the sea at a distance, ideal for those looking for a relaxing holiday. Great holiday

2 adults and 6 children (aged from 7 through to 17) had a brilliant holiday at this villa. The location was great. It was peaceful and quiet but was only 15 minutes drive to the coast where we had some great meals in local, traditional restaurants. The facilities were exactly as described and we made lots of use of the swimming pool and tennis court on the days that we stayed around the villa. Plenty of places to visit for days out with all the family within 45 minutes drive too. Everyone in the group has been asking to return next year. Ian and Sara were really helpful too in providing advice about places to eat and visit during the holiday.

Relaxing week in Portugal

Our week in villa Sao Miguel Moncarapacho was everything we had hoped for in our first ever owners direct villa.

From initial contact with Valter the villa owner who gave us all the information we required and much more of interest. To Sara from the agents who helped us when we got lost when we first arrived and gave us information on the local area.

We were 2 families 4 adults and 4 children (10 12 15x2) the villa had everything we needed to keep us all entertained from ping pong to tennis to heated pool & jacuzzi then table football and back again. The kitchen was well equipped and the open plan lounge great for all of us on an evening after a bbq and outside terrace dining.

Both families did find it difficult to find the villa both going different ways and needing help from Sara maybe more detailed directions would be helpfull however this was our only criticism.

We enjoyed eating out at Antonios in Moncarapacho (delicious) and visiting the local area. Our favourite outing being to faro beach to catch some big (really big) waves. Beach is near the airport which doesn't sound great however beach was fantastic, free parking white sand and loads of space. Amazing fun.

In a nutshell our week was fab,easy going and trouble free thank you all xxx

It was interesting to hear you chose the Faro beach, although there are many other lovely beaches in the area, including Fuseta and all the other beautiful islands, such as Tavira, Armona etc, some accessible within 5 minutes by water taxi or main service, but also many other beaches along the coast. The Ria Formosa area has it all to offer to adventurers guests. The villa is located in a rural location and although the majority of our guests find their way without getting lost, there will be a few occasions when that's not the case. Should that happen Sara will always be at hand to guide you as the villa is only 15 to 20 minutes from Faro airport. We will certainly be looking at the instructions to see if they can be improved and thanks for your comment.

A Wonderful Time!

Our party stayed at this villa for 2 weeks recently and had a fantastic time. We arrived early on check-in day but leaving our luggage was no problem at all. Sara from the management company gave us a tour of the villa and suggested places to go for lunch, supermarkets for shopping and places to visit during our stay.

The villa itself is lovely and suited our needs though there were a few snags that needed addressing. Once these snags were reported, Christian came around the same day and sorted the lot! The service we received from the management company was exceptional and very efficient. Any queries or issues we had were resolved swiftly and efficiently.

The only negatives for us were that there was a lack of shade outside by the pool, particularly during the afternoon where the sun shines directly at the back of the villa. There are parasols but only one person could fit within the shade at any one time so some of us were fighting over them! If there were a couple more then this would help. As it can get windy, we sometimes had to take them down as they can easily get damaged but even a freak gust of wind can also cause damage! Also, the bathroom on the lower ground floor didn't have a toilet, therefore we had to walk up to the next floor; this is just something to be aware of.

Finally, the outside tables on the terrace had a heavy sag in the middle and needed replacing. Very impressively though, these were replaced with new tables the very next day! As the outside area is where people tend to spend the most time (as with our party), it would be even better if high quality wooden tables were installed which would improve the experience even further.

Overall we had a fantastic time. Big shout out to Sara for sorting everything out for us but also to Valter, the owner, for being a great help and extremely responsive to any queries we had. Our security deposit was also returned very swiftly which was impressive. Many thanks again!

Coast/Beach:

A 10 minute drive will bring you to the coastal town of Fuzeta, lying within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. There is a small beach on the lagoon in the town itself. Take the small ferry across the lagoon (five minutes) and you reach the miles and miles of sand, sun and sea of Isla de Armona. There is a restaurant and facilities where you land. The beach has white sand, clean warm water, and is backed by dunes - one of the very best in Europe. Most of the beach is empty even in peak season.

Travel:

The villa is situated 15Km to the east of Faro airport and car hire is essential. That will enable you to visit a wider variety of the beautiful beaches, a coastal wetlands national park and the many unspoilt towns and villages most with very reasonably priced restaurants in the area.

Distances:

The nearest town is Moncarapacho (5 minutes drive), a charming small town with all the basics: 2 good small supermarkets, market, restaurants, bank, fuel, post office, newspapers and plenty of cafe's.

The large coastal town of Olhão is 15 minutes drive away - a paradise for lovers of fish and sea food. Tavira - the cultural and historic town at the center of the Eastern Algarve - is just 20 minutes drive away.

Further Details:

Olhao is very Portuguese, very Algarvian and very un-touristic. The pedestrian shopping area winds in cobbled streets through the moorish-looking old town to the waterfront with its markets (fruit, veg, meat, deli as well as fish), its cafes’s, parks and sparkling views out over the Ria Formosa lagoons.

We accept payments in British Pounds and Euros by bank transfer. We require a 25% deposit when confirming booking with the balance payable 60 days prior to check-in.

Changeover Day:
The changeover day is always on a Saturday. We ask guests to vacate by 10am and to arrive between 4pm and 9pm to allow time for thorough cleaning and preparation of the villa.

Notes on prices:
Prices are per week in UK Pounds. Please note that pool heating is optional and there will be an extra charge of £175 on the top of your quoted amount for your pure letting and will be added to your final balance. There is also a £250 breakages deposit that will be returned within 14 days of departure.

Minimum stay and period of rental:
The minimum stay at the villa is a week and it can only be rented out for full weeks.
