The Villa has 4 good sized bedrooms set in separate areas of the house ideal for sharing families, 2 bathrooms and a spacious open plan living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a large double garage with a washing machine, accessible from the kitchen. The extensive garden includes a lovely private heated pool with roman steps, a covered gazebo with BBQ and garden furniture provided for your use. There is also a large communal pool, tennis and boules courts located on the complex. Other activities nearby include horse riding, boating and fishing at a number of local lakes. Cyclists are particularly well catered for via an extensive network of local cycle tracks offering safe and easy cycling. The area is blessed with lovely beaches and typically attractive villages.

About the Owner

Our villa is owned and shared by two families who fell in love with Domaine des Fontenelles and the Vendee region after holidaying in rented gites over a number of years. Between us we have 5 kids who have all loved sharing the villa with each other and the various family and friends who have visited us over the years, creating many precious memories.

The villa is in the perfect location to strike the balance between relaxation and activity. The domain is peaceful and safe for the children with enough to keep them occupied while the adults relax, yet within 15 minutes we have access to great beaches and lovely seaside towns.

The delightful town and port of St.Gilles Croix de Vie is 8 miles away with its attractive beach and port areas. Further beaches are available right along the Vendee coast with Les Sables D'Olonne and St.Jean de Monts both within 30 minutes of the Villa.

The Villa lies approximately 3.5 hours drive from St.Malo which is the nearest ferry port and 7 hours from Calais or Boulogne making it easily accessible from the Tunnel or shorter Ferry Routes.

By Air:

Nantes and La Rochelle airports are both located just over an hours drive away.

Further Details:

Guests are well catered for in the local village of Coex which has a Super U Supermarket, bakers, bars and an Auberge. There is a choice of 3 Hypermarkets in nearby St.Gilles and Aizenay, both 10-15 minutes away by car.

The Leisure Lakes of Lac Gue Gourand, Lac D'Apremont and Lac de Jaunay for cycling, boating, fishing and swimming are all within 10 minutes drive from the house. Apremont also has an attractive historic chateau which can be explored with an entrance ticket that also gains you access to the local water tower to check out the panoramic view. For great family outings try Vendee Minature at Bretignolles Sur Mer or the Velo rail (prior booking is essential due to its popularity) which runs along a 10Km dis-used stretch of railway track from Commequiers to Coex, 2 people peddle while 2 more relax on the deck chairs. St Jean de Monts is a lively resort town with a large attractive promenade and beach front. The main streets leading away from the beach positively buzz with nightlife in the summers evenings with bars, shops and family funfairs.

Les Sables D'Olonne lies about 30 minutes south with its grand promenade, excellent beach, port-side restaurants and attractive pedestrianised shopping areas

La Rochelle, Ile de Noirmoutier and Nantes are all accessible in just over an hour by car.

Nearby Family attractions include the Zoos at Les Sables D'Olonne and Planet Sauvage towards Nantes and the acclaimed medieval theme park of Puy de Fou is just over an hour away.

For more grown up pleasures, visits to chateaus and wine tasting is available in either the Muscadet growing area just to the South East of Nantes or more locally with the Fiefs Vendee producers.

Finally, Cyclists are fantastically well catered for with many designated and purpose built Cycling Routes or 'pistes cyclable' in the local area, many of them winding through farmers fields well away from the traffic. It is possible to cycle down the whole Vendee coast.

Booking Notes:
Hiring of the Villa is normally arranged via our management company who run the complex and are based on-site between Easter and October to look after you. We will deal with your initial enquiry ourselves, answer any questions you may have, liaise with the management company to confirm availability and organise the booking.

All payments (deposits, balance etc) are made to the management company offering you the security and protection of dealing with a company operating and registered locall

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday. Outside of July and August, we may be able to offer flexibility on lengths of stays (including shorter breaks) and changeover days.

Notes on prices:
Discounts maybe available outside of July & August (please ask). Prices are for the property per week in Euros including a management booking fee. There is a small local holiday tax (currently 0.55 Euros/person/day) payable to the management company. Electricity & water is metered during your stay and payment will be collected by the management company prior to your departure. Details of a credit card as a security deposit to cover any damages to the property during your stay.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Cots and high chairs are available for hire and the pool is alarmed for the safety of children. Outside: The large back garden has open views across the complex, a 10x5M heated swimming pool with roman steps, a covered gazebo with lighting and power, a couple of mature trees for those shady lunches and sizeable lawned areas beyond the pool and to the side of the house for games. Garden furniture and chairs are provided for your use as is a Weber BBQ. A pleasant walk through the well maintained open areas will bring you to the main complex with its tennis & boules courts, large communal swimming pool, bar and restaurant. For the energetic there is a track to walk or cycle along into the nearby village of Coex which has all the local amenities required. Utility Room: Washing machine located within utility area of the large integral garage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We can arrange the hire of bedding and towels at additional charge from the management company who are available on site. We can also arrange an end of stay clean at additional charge as the property is expected to be clean when you depart. Other: There is a large integral double Garage with access from the kitchen, the front of the house and out to the garden at the rear. It has a utility area which is equipped with a washing machine.
