About The Owner

Hello my name is Frank and I am married to Debbie. We live in the North West of England with our 2 children, Ryan and Madeline. We fell in love with Greece nearly 15 years ago and have carefully hand picked properties for there charm and location.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2007

Why The Owner chose World

Villa Madeline is situated in a very private position

just above the village of Psinthos.

We chose this local because we like the peace and quiet also the privacy the place offers, yet the village is only a 10 min stroll where you can find all you need.

also the area is central for all destinations like airport, Rhodes town, beach, Valley of the Butterflies, etc

all can be reached by car between 15 to 25 mins.

What makes this villa unique

The benefits of Villa Madeline are, you will not find any other holiday makers around you, which makes the place

feel special.

Of coarse you will meet people down in the village, but you will also enjoy the privacy the villa offers.

The local people really are very helpful and friendly

and know us quite well.

The one thing you will find is that the place is not commercialised and the surroundings are full of natural

beauty untouched and unspoilt.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fantastic accommodation situated on the northeast coast of the island in an area of natural beauty, little known village of Psinthos off the tourist track. Terrific place. - Miss L. Newman.

Lovely Villa base for Rhodes

  • 4 of 5

We have just had a most enjoyable week for 7 of us staying in this villa, the 3 double, and 2 single beds was ideal for us. It was close for the airport just 30 mins drive away, and a good base to be able to tour Rhodes from since you could get to either side of the island. We loved going to local Psinthos Village and trying out the various restaurants there it was a lovely atmosphere and the village was very friendly, it had a nice village shop too for our provisions and a bakery, and you could walk from the villa to the village which was ideal (10/15mins). The villa was very comfortable, and we enjoyed spending time in and around the pool. Would recommend having hire Cars so that you can get out and about and from/ to the airport. The views at the front of the villa were lovely and it was in a nice quiet setting for our relaxation days. There was a nice lounge area and also kitchen table to fit us all around for our nights in and a TV if you wanted to watch it. So a fab base to spend a holiday in Rhodes from :) thank you for a lovely stay.

Just returned from a brilliant holiday in Psinthos.

The Villa is superbly located in the mountains with just a short walk of 5 minutes to the village square in Psinthos.

The Villa is well equipped and the rooms are all light and airy, nicely decorated and with plenty of room for 8 people without getting under each others feet. There were plenty of towels and bedding for the duration. The pool is superb with a swimming section with a deep end and a toddlers section which is shallo, just what you really need to cool off. It is clean and tidy inside and out.

Stavros and family, the neighbours, are fantastic and help whenever you call them.

We have never been embraced so well by a local community, we had gifts from local restaurant owners, plus one lovely lady in the village cooked us a meal and delivered it to the door.

We had a taxi transfer from the hotel and had no problem getting a taxi without pre-booking it. After 2 days we decided to hire a car which, in hindsight I would say is a must if you want to explore this beautiful island.

Frank & Debbie have been great hosts and we had the pleasure of meeting them on our last day. A big thank you to them both for letting us stay until the very last minute before we needed to drive to the airport.

All in all a great experience and we will hopefully return next year.

Well what can I say . Only that it is the most beautiful place I have ever been . The villa is set in its own grounds and the only noise around is the crickets and the birds . The pool is over looking the mountains and is so peaceful I sat reading my book for hours in the sunshine . There is a wonderful family next door that look after the villa and nothing is to much trouble . My little girl was unwell while I was there and nitsa took her to the pharmacy and had her sorted in a few hours . Everything you need is at the villa including washing machine I was able to wash our beach towels and my bedding and they were dry in an hour . No rain in Greece to wet your washing girls . We met the goat farmer petros who is a very friendly and caring man he let my little girl feed his goats he also gave us a box of fresh fruit from his orchard . The villa is set in the little village of psinthos and is in an area of unspoilt natural beauty . I have made enquiries to return in 2014

Great Location.

  • 3 of 5

The villa is a good size for a party of 8 and the location is fantastic, on the outskirts of a traditional village away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. The view from the pool is a dream.

A car is a necessity as outside the village there is nothing within walking distance. A taxi from Faliraki is currently ?25.

The Villa is advertised as sleeping 8 to 10 people, however, I would not recommend a party of 10 as there is not enough dining facilities inside or out to accommodate 8 let alone 10 people. We had to isolate some unsafe chairs to prevent accidents. The downstairs bathroom / wet room is basically a downstairs toilet with a shower head on the wall, not usable as a shower room.

There was no internet access as advertised, and though the advertisement says towels and linen provided we arrived to 5 bath towels and 9 hand towels for a party of 7. The contract also said that for two week bookings towels and linen would be changed after the first week, this did not happen and we spent an exciting day stripping beds and doing the washing. If you were to read the comments in the guest book you soon realised that we were not the only ones who had not received this service.

The general feel to the property is that it is in need of (a large amount) of TLC and a good clean, a word of warning, the gate to the villa is broken but don't make the mistake of not wedging it shut, we awoke one night to a party in the garden - the goats were having a great time.

Negatives aside we did have a great holiday and saw all the sites of Rhodes. Rhodes Town is very picturesque, but very busy, parking in high season is a nightmare, the best place to get a spot is around the port. If you enjoy Island hopping there are daily ferries to various Greek Islands and Turkey. We enjoyed visits to Symi, Halki and Tilos. We also enjoyed a Landrover Safari, booked with Isis Travel in Faliraki, we got to see Rhodes 'off the beaten track', the visit to the 'beach bar' was an experience not to be missed and the wine and souma tasting was fun.
