About the Owner

We have owned this property since it was built 25 years ago. Over the years many happy holidays have been spent at all times of year with the highlights generally being summer holidays, the annual golf festival at the end of September, the Easter golf festival and for some 10 years in a row Christmas and New Year.

A few years back we had the house totally renewed and modernised - new kitchen and bathrooms throughout.

Very acceptable place to stay and very reasonably priced with access to main pool.

We had a good stay there, however it is not managed by the San Antonio estate so when the TV did not work and we found the upstairs toilet was blocked on arrival these were never fixed during our week stay. There is no garden but a balcony that you can dry your stuff which was handy. Other than these issues we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend this for a well priced place to stay with use of the main pool and parking very close by.

We had holidayed and played golf in the Algarve for 5 years and the Parque da Floresta concept and facilities were so attractive we sold our previous apartment and were very happy to buy in the Western Algarve with the then promise - now delivered - of the motorway connection to Faro. We still love the location - the golf course, the ease of access to the beaches especially on the rugged west coast, and the variety of family run restaurants.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There are several south facing safe beaches within short driving distance - from under 10 minutes to the nearest at Salema. On the west coast the beaches are from 20 minutes driving and courses in surfing generally available. Almost all beaches have beach bars and food.

Travel:

Faro airport is about an hour's drive via the motorway. Car hire can be arranged from the airport and is recommended.

Distances:

Budens is the nearest village within 5 minutes drive. Salema fishing village is a couple of minutes further. Cap St Vincent and Sagres south eastern outposts of Europe and start points for historic Portuguese explorers are 30 minutes drive. Lagos with many restaurants, shops, castle and a modern marina and various boat trips is about 20 minutes drive. Ancient Silves dating back to Roman times and Monchique Mountains are within an hours drive.

Further Details:

Budens has a supermarket and petrol station and Salema (both 5 minutes) both have a number of restaurants and small local shops. Lagos 20 minutes has more supermarkets, shops, banks and a wide variety of restaurants.

The property is totally centrally located in the resort with easy walking access to the swimming pool/spa complex and golf facilities. Bowls in in walking distance and the tennis and archery facilities on the resort are also excellent. The Western Algarve remains as attractive as ever with the more rugged West Coast beaches and many local restaurants in easy reach.
