The house, with its large garage, is also particularly suited to the many car enthusiasts who come to enjoy Brittany’s empty roads. Resort has programme of family holiday entertainment and festivals during July and August. Plus outdoor sports festival with family entertainment on 3-5 May, including the Costarmoricaine cycle race finishing in Erquy. English, French & German spoken.

Great house, great location, great holiday !

The house was great - clean, modern, well located for beach and town, and we really appreciated the little extras including toys for the kids. The sandy beach is a 10 minute walk and Erquy has plenty to offer for eating in or out. Highly recommended.

Excellent location, near beaches

Easy to find , close to the town centre and excellent well equipped house and the listing description was very accurate. The manager was very helpful and amenible and the house was clean and well maintained. Can't remember there being any details of local health faclities eg doctors and this may have been useful for families, but I suppose the manager could have assisted where necessary with local information.We would happily recommend this holiday home to friends and family and possibly return if we come over to Brittany again on our motorbike. We spent a couple of days visiting Josselin and Tregastel and walking up on the Cap De Erquy, where there are wonderful views and to the Le Guen beach, where we have stayed nearby many times over the last 20 years. Good Carrefour in the town centre and there is a large Super U on the outskirts of the town. Also had a lovely meal at Quai West on the harbour and lovely galettes at La Potiniere near La Caroual Plage and also at the Le Vieux Port on the harbour. Very relaxing week and now feel well rested- beautiful beaches and views from the houe, especially the sunsets.

Something for everyone

Having stayed in this area of Brittany over many years, we found this property to be especially suitable for our needs.

Maison Theo is a newly built house overlooking Erquy harbour. It has a balcony outside the living room to absorb the view while enjoying glass of wine. There is also a small garden behind the kitchen which is a sun trap.

Although situated in a quiet side road, the property is less than a ten minute walk into town, and another few minutes to the main beach.

Suitable for families with young children; plenty of games, DVDs and books to keep them quiet if the weather turns wet. Also well-equipped with stair gates, cot etc. The washing machine and tumble drier are especially helpful.

Very comfortable kitchen and living area.

A good range of restaurants along the harbour, many specialising in seafood and crepes.

Many beaches to choose from in the area. If you drive along the coast there are some wonderful views. Especially worth visiting Cap Frehel and Fort La Latte. Just outside Erquy there is Chateau Bien Assis which is open during the summer months.

A little further afield Dinan is worth a day's visit, likewise St Malo.

Any questions were readily answered by the manager.

Would certainly recommend to family and friends.

Do you require a very clean, well equipped, modern, comfortable holiday home with a wonderful view over the town and harbour with easy access to provision shops and neighbouring fishing villages and beaches?. Then Maison Theo is the place for you.

It is a modern house in a quiet street about ten minutes walk from the shopping centre of Erquy and its beaches. It is comfortable, clean, fresh, well maintained and well equipped with a fine view of the harbour. We had a most enjoyable holiday there. Sitting having breakfast outside in the sunshine after an early morning swim was a particularly happy experience.

We would warmly recommend Maison Theo to family and friends.

Location

We fell in love with Erquy during several very successful family holidays to the resort, where the children had a fantastic time exploring rock pools and building sandcastles on one of the many beaches. We also loved looking around the market or trying out one of the many restaurants along the port. However, we never managed to find a gite to stay in that was near enough to the town centre and beaches (so we didn't have to drive everywhere) or which offered a high level of comfort - so we decided to buy our own place!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Erquy has ten sandy beaches. Maison Theo is within 5-10 mins walking distance of the two main beaches, the town centre beach and Caroual beach. Both offer kids clubs in peak season and have toilet facilities. All other beaches are a 5 to 10 min drive from the house.

Travel:

St Malo is the closest port, being approximately 50 minutes drive away. Roscoff, Caen and Cherbourg are alternatives although further away. Dinard airport, which is a 40 minute drive away, is served by Ryanair which offers cheap flights from the UK. The nearest train stations are Lamballe (20km), St Brieuc (35km), St Malo (45km). TGVs from Paris are quite frequent to Lamballe or St Brieuc. Local taxi service available.

Distances:

As well as the attractions in Erquy, you could visit nearby Chateau Bienassis, Cap Frehel (10km away), the 600 year old Fort Lalatte (14 kms), as well as medieval Dinan and St Malo, both about 50 minutes drive away. Mont St Michel is also a day trip away. There are also numerous seaside resorts, beaches, and markets within an easy drive of Erquy.

Further Details:

Erquy is a beautiful working fishing port with a main central beach surrounding a harbour, where you can watch the catch being unloaded and even buy some of it on the quayside for your dinner later. The town centre contains several local shops, including traditional fishmongers and bakeries, and a small supermarket - no high street chain stores, just charm and individuality. You can also stroll down to Erquy's bustling market, where you could enjoy a freshly made crepe or two. There is also a large supermarket on the edge of town for anything else you might need. Maison Theo is just a stroll from Erquy’s array of restaurants, including several creperies and restaurants specialising in the local delicacy of scallops. Erquy’s modern water sports centre offers excellent facilities, including a diving school and sailing school, windsurfing and sea canoeing. Become a sailor for the day on board the Sainte-Jeanne traditional sailing ship or explore the 15km of coastal path. There is a children’s playground and merry-go-round on the front, together with a programme of entertainment during the summer season. This includes a local food and craft market, a weekly children's festival, and a weekly display of Celtic culture.

One of the things I love about Maison Theo is that it is furnished to a very high standard so it's a lovely place to hang out and just relax. You can feel really at home here. The back garden is a total suntrap, and there is nothing better than catching the evening sun on the balcony with a glass of wine looking out over the port. However, it's top plus point has got to be its location. You can get up in the morning and have a short (3-4 minute) walk to one of several bakeries to pick up your fresh croissants for breakfast. You can walk back to the town centre later to pick up some fresh fish from one of the fishmongers or stop off at the brasserie or creperie for a spot of lunch or drink. You can walk to two beaches. And you can walk to a variety of great restaurants.
