Delightful 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with large private rooftop solarium, sea and mountain views in a small gated community. Apartment is finished to a high standard & stylishly furnished with all "mod cons" inc UK TV & WiFi. The front terrace overlooks the pool with stairs leading to the large private solarium with a newly installed pagoda to create some shade during the hot summer afternoons. Only 850m from a quiet sandy beach with beach bars during the summer. The village centre is a short walk with everything you need from friendly Spanish/English bars, cafes, restaurants, mini supermarket, Bakery & pharmacy. Nearby attractions include, Vera Water Park & beautiful blue flag beaches. Golfers can enjoy 4 excellent golf courses. Garrucha to stroll along the prom where at night there is a small market selling leather goods, gifts. A must visit is the Friday market. Resort of Mojacar and its ancient white hilltop village is nearby. Our apartment is ideally located for exploring this beautiful unspoilt area and is ideal for a relaxing holiday for families/couples. WiFi available upon request.

We were very happy with the apartment and location. Bright, airy, clean and spacious, the apartment had wifi and a lovely roof terrace which we enjoyed for sunbathing and reading. We loved the village with friendly locals and authentic Tapas Bar in the village square. The location is dotted with beautiful beaches and several cafe bars on the beach. We didn't need a car and could walk around easily to village and beaches. We got a couple of taxis to nearby towns and enjoyed the many markets. My daughters enjoyed kayaking and visited the water park about 10 mins away. A great diverse holiday which we thoroughly enjoyed, thank you Louise and Nick.

Inaccurate description of apartment as we found it to be tired & required updating. On arrival we found the apt required cleaning as there were cob webs in the lounge & bedroom & the kitchen/oven had to be cleaned before using. Fridge not clean & smelt of fish. Linen & towels needed replacing as did pillows & double bed mattress.

Outside tables covered in cheap plastic tablecovers & chairs needed replacing as did tables as these were badly weathered by the sun. No chair cushions provided.

Immediate issues with the cleanliness of the pool & pool area. Pool only cleaned once a week & the pool area never cleaned in the 5 weeks we rented the property. Owners contacted but issue never resolved .

View from the lower balcony was of a derelict finca & a dumping ground for rubbish.

On a safety issue no smoke detectors or instructions in case of a fire & no fire blanket or extinguisher provided by the owners.

Would definately not rent this Apt again or recommend it to anyone.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review we are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay. Regarding the pool, this issue was resolved by the managing agent attending the community within 48hrs and issuing new instructions to the cleaners. Our English apartment cleaners do take real pride in their work and were very disappointed to hear your comments. The exterior furniture and covers does get weathered by the sun and the outside covers have been replaced. Regarding the finca in the distance, yes it is derelict but, please note this is a working traditional Spanish village We have since visited the apartment for a week and all is well with the apartment and pool.

Great Holiday

Lovely apartment, clean, well furnished and great roof terrace. The local village has a variety of restaurants including an English bar just up the road. Away from the village we found lovely beaches both rocky and sandy and the nearest major town (mojacar) is great for a visit.

Relaxing break

The apartment was very easy to find as we were given excellent directions. The apartment is lovely and very well equipped and situated in a quiet position. The sun terrace is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. There is a pool should you wish to cool off but as we visited in April we did not use it. There is also Secure underground parking. We would definitely use again

Total Relaxation

Just back from a 10 day stay at this apartment, our first visit to the area. We thought it was tremendous value for money. Directions given by Nick from Almeria airport were spot on. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the property and everything you could possibly need was provided. Roof top sunbathing and dining was bliss, so peaceful. Loved the semi rural feel, with the goats and sheep going past with their shepherd daily. Dining out and shopping was far less costly than our normal holiday destination of Menorca and English and locals were so friendly. Enjoyed visiting the Sunday market at Villaricos, strolling round the fishing port at Garrucha and Mojacar Pueblo was breathtaking. All in all a perfect inexpensive break in the sun!

Special interest holidays:

Scuba diving - It is also possible to scuba diving in Villaricos / Carbonares. We can recommend several dive shops nearby who are able to help plan your dives. Mountain biking, there are a number of bike hire shops in the area where you can hire a bike for the day. Horse riding - there are several riding schools nearby who can cater for all abilities. Hill walking - there are a number of walks with varying degrees of difficulty nearby covering this historic region. Skiing - although the Sierra Nevada mountains are approx 2.5 hour drive away, they are accessible during the winter for skiing. Why not try a 2 centre holiday?


850m to nearest sandy beach with 2 beach bars. Mojacar Sandy beach with water sports is 15km drive. Villaricos is also walkable at 1.2km away, with beautiful Sandy beaches great for snorkeling and a beach bar. Continue on the road to San Juan and there are some lovely safe cove's including "Cala Panizo", which is very quiet with crystal clear waters, with a a gentle shelving beach great for children and snorkeling.


Almeria Airport 50 miles (45 min) served by Easyjet, First Choice and Monarch. Murcia 115 miles (1hr 15 min) served by BMI Baby, Easyjet, Monarch, Ryanair. Alicante 130 miles (2hrs) served by Monarch, BMI Baby, EasyJet, Jet2, Ryanair.


Our apartment is within a 3 minute walk of the village centre and is only a 2 minute walk from the nearest bar/restaurant. Vera Water Park is a 5 minute drive and open from May to September

Mojacar Pueblo - 15km Historical & scenic hilltop town with narrow streets, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops & excellent views.

Garrucha 6km - Fishing town with large street market every Friday, variety of shops, restaurants & banks & evening market on promenade in summer and Go Karting on the outskirts.

Further Details:

Within the village there are a number of English and Spanish bars/restaurants offering excellent "Menu Del Dia" (menu of the day) typically with 3 course for between 8-10 euro per person. We would recommend 1) Tapas 102 in the village square for authentic tapas and pizza's, 2) Oasis Bar where you will receive a warm welcome with great food and Sky Sports (if you are missing a big match). 3) The "Miramar" restaurant in Bedar. This is approx 25 minute drive but is well worth it for the fantastic views and excellent food. There is also a pharmacy, 3 x small supermarkets, patisserie, 2 banks, butchers, fresh fish shop in the village. A large Consum supermarket is only a 5 minute drive which is next to the waterpark. The waterpark in Vera is great for children both small and older children, offering exhilarating rides as well as a water fountain area with smaller slides for toddlers. A car is not essential but is recommended if you wish to explore the many secluded coves and surrounding area. If you wish we can email you with more details of the surrounding attractions. We have found that in this region the prices for eating out and drinking are lower than the more traditional locations.

  • Our apartment is in a lovely small complex, with spanish and english people living there. We have equipped it as a "home from home", with even a hair dryer and iron board if needed. WiFi available upon request. There is plenty of room in the kitchen/dining area for entertaining and should your children get too warm during the day they can escape into the air-conditioned lounge and be entertained with TV or DVD's, while you continue to enjoy the sun. The pool is easily accessible and has 2 showers to help keep you cool on those warm summer days, our pool is also open for a quiet evening swim. Heating is provided in winter by ducted air-conditioning in the lounge and bedrooms. There is also secure underground parking available to help keep your car cool during the summer. The apartment is available for short term and long term lets. Discounts available on 2 week bookings and long term lets. Outside: There is an East facing front terrace with a small round table and 4 chairs. where you can enjoy the early morning sun in the morning or the shade during the afternoon. There is also a large private rooftop solarium with great sea and mountain views which has a large table and 4 chairs as well as 2 sun loungers. There is a shared pool that is open all year round that can also be used for a quiet evening swim. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are included. Apartment is cleaned before arrival. The towels provided are for use in the apartment only. Please take your own towels for the pool and beach. Other: The outside front terrace has a table and 4 chairs. The solarium has 2 sun loungers and large white table with 4 chairs and pagoda There is also a water tap and hose to cool you down if it gets too hot. There is also light for those warm evenings.
