A nice house in beatiful surroundings.

  • 4 of 5

We arrived to the house in the early autumm. Nice weather, a little bit cold at night, but there is a fireplace and lots of wood/logs.

The house is nice, and is placed in a beatiful garden of fruittrees, flowers, olivetress and different birds.

There are tranquility and peace, totally relaxation. No neighbors.

The owner is very helpful and so is the caretaker.

If you go there in october/ fall/autumm and you want to use the swimmingpool, then it is a good idea to let the owner know.

We had a nice vacacion.

Piece of tranquility

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is situated in an absolutely stunning area with a back drop of mountainous and forest scenery.

Total tranquility and 'in the middle of nowhere', perfect for total relaxation.

A car is an essential. Ideally a 4x4 or truck as the track from the main road is not very good.

The surrounding area has a few small villages/ towns where you can shop and get fresh bread etc. It's essential that you know at least the basics of the Spanish language as people in the area do not speak English.

The cottage is very traditional. The internal living area and kitchen could be quite small if part of a large family, however the bedrooms are spacious.

The bathroom and kitchen could do with a little updating but is very livable and the exterior area and pool more than makes up for it. Would recommend to family and friends and have no doubt that we will be returning.

Stunning, isolated location.

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday in this peaceful, isolated cottage. The scenery and wild life are stunning, especially for bird watchers. The listing description was accurate regarding the location but visitors should be advised that you need a car with high clearance to negotiate the final few miles of rough track from the main road to the property.

Nos han tratado muy bien. Los huevos de gallina deliciosos. Los burros muy simpáticos. Los paseos por la montaña impresionantes. Y la casa muy acogedora.

About The Owner

I have been in Spain since 1976.Paco(my Spanish husband)

and I decided to buy a finca in the Tietar Valley as we were impressed by its beauty.Later on we bred horses and dogs and finally, as our chidren have grown up we spend a lot of time in our house in the Lake District.

We use the property for our own leisure when guests are not there.

We have had many British visitors:they love our sunny finca, the swimming pool and the astonishing nature, where wild vultures and scores of rare birds can be observed.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1970

Why The Owner chose Guisando

We bought the property because of the beauty of the area and the mild climate. It is situated to the south of the Gredos mountains(2.360 mts altitude) and as it is protected by these high mountains, the climate is mediterranean, allowing orange, lemon, tangerine and fig trees amongst other species to grow.

We have always liked privacy,so the finca is secluded but ten minutes from the nearest village.

It is interesting to know that the former British Prime Minister,John Mayor, spends his summer holidays in Candeleda(14 minutes car ride from our house).

The city of Candeleda recently gave Mr. Mayor´s name to an Avenue.

What makes this cottage unique

If you are looking for quietness, beauty and wild nature, this is your place.

We are willing to show you the surroundings:the wild river, the golf course and all the facilities for tourism.
