Apartment in Alvor, Western Algarve, Portugal - In one of the Algarve's Finest Fishing Villages

Location, location, location - bright and airy 1 bedroom apartment on 1st floor in a complex of 20, with lift access to all 3 floors. It has a small shared swimming pool on the roof with a decked terrace area, there are excellent views of the sea and the lagoon from here. The apartment is finished to a very high standard with granite worktops and fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, it has a large lounge and dining area. There are English TV channels including BBC, ITV and Channel 4. The living room and bedroom have a large sunny balcony. There is secure parking in the underground car park with a lift to all floors. This apartment is excellently located, it is 2 minutes from Alvor's cobbled streets full of local bars, shops and restaurants, all on the doorstep. It is a 10 minute walk to Alvors very long sandy beach, with beach bars and water sports facilities. The nearest golf course is 3 kilometres.

Perfect spot for center of Alvor and beach

Lovely apartment modern and clean has everything you need for a week or two from homei. my husband and I really enjoyed it and will return as we love Alvor. Greeted by Francesca on arrival and all good communication no hassle very helpful. Would recommend for a central apartment no need for a car so restful.

Excellent apartment

Excellent apartment to stay in. Spotlessly clean and with all the appliances you need . Ideal location as it is only 50 yards from all the bars and restaurants but it is in a quiet location.Superb views of Alvor from the roof top pool area. Francesca met us on arrival and was more than helpful. We would definately recommend this apartment to anyone.

Perfect Apartment

We have stayed in Alvor many times but first time in this apartment and hopefully not the last. Beautiful modern apartment well equipped and spotlessly clean. Comfy beds and pillow and handy fan and portable air condition unit. Bed linen change once in 2 week stay and towels changed 3 times. Francisca who met us was very pleasant and helpful and made sure we knew where her office was if had any problems contacting her - not that we needed to. Roof pool was excellent and the times we used it there was no one else there. Comfy loungers supplied and your own mattresses which are kept in the apartment. Location perfect for beach bars and restaurants. Road outside can be little noisy but didn't bother us.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The closest is Alvor beach which is a mere 10 minute walk away - a 3km long sandy beach with rock formations on the eastern side. There are great beaches up and down the coast from a short drive, including Praia da Rocha, Praia da Vau and Lagos.

Travel:

Fly to Faro-Alvor is 65km from the airport. Bmibaby, BA, Easyjet, first choice, jet 2, Monarch and Ryanair all fly from England. Many car hire companies operate from Faro airport. Auto Jardin also have an office in Praia da Rocha (4 mile from Alvor) where you can drop off car and get taxi to Alvor. Buses from Alvor to Faro can be found. They also run from Faro airport. Or book a shuttle bus or taxi from Faro airport. Polotur (on web) provide an excellent private bus transfer service

Distances:

The apartment is only a stones throw from Alvor village. The Western Algarve stretches from Lagoa to Sagres along the south coast. The region covers the beautiful west coast and the Costa Vicentina National Park. The coastline is characterized by dramatic rock formations with stacks and stumps, grotto's and caves and the beautiful, clean sandy beaches and coves. There are many interesting towns along the way.

Further Details:

Alvor is a very popular holiday location, the enclosed narrow streets have kept development to a minimum. There are gift shops, banks, internet cafes and all amenities close by. Nearby 'Continente' at Portiamo Retail Park is recommended for grocery shopping. At night, the cobbled streets boast bars with live music and many different types of restaurants, but leading off from these there are still memories of the older fishing village. The village is well located facing a natural lagoon opening onto the sea. There is a choice of a long open sandy beach or a number of small coves tucked under the cliffs.

For nightlife lovers, the lively atmospheres of Alvor and Praia da Rocha will be ideal for you.

The west coast is a protected area with miles of unspoilt beaches meeting the Atlantic breakers which make it such a popular area for surfers.

Alvor is a haven for golfers with many nearby top class golf courses.
