About the property

Sleeps 6 in 3 spacious bedrooms( 1 king, 4 singles), 2 bathrooms

Set just outside St Quentin la Poterie (2km) a lively artistic village 6km from the beautiful medieval town of Uzes is our modern light airy villa nestling amid olives with large kitchen/living room area opening onto the terrace & pool.

There are 2 bedrooms, shower room + 2 WCs in the main house and a large bedroom + fully equipped bathroom/utility room in the extension/annexe, independent but connected,same entrance.

There is electric heating for winter and air conditioning in the sitting room.

The pool is 10 x 5 m, usually covered til end April then open until October. Optional heating in low season .There is only an alarm system so not advisable for small children.

Access is via an electric gate, set back from the lane; the whole 1200 sq m plot is enclosed by trees affording complete privacy and yet not isolated.

About Wendy Clarke

I have been coming to Uzes for 45 years on and off since my first school exchange when I fell in love with the area . Over the years I came back with my husband and children and we finally decided to buy a property when we retired. We looked all over France and Italy but always came back to Uzes.

The house is now sadly on the market due to health and family problems, we aim to sell in Autumn 17. Do enquire if interested, price in the region of £340,000 or €380,000. Viewings welcome.

We made 3 trips and looked at over 40 houses and the more more you look the harder it gets especially with a limited budget. Above all we wanted total privacy, space, an easy house and a flat, open sunny garden with a pool and of course Uzes had to be near. At last this villa ticked all the boxes and, although slightly larger and more expensive than we had intended, we have no regrets. It has become a home from home; we love our time here and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this villa unique

Heated pool and the view of the pool from the house, you can just run out and jump in! or sit on the terrace with a drink watching the sun go down. Also the extra bedroom + bathroom in a separate area , ideal for guests or extended family.

Parents assume full responsibility for the safety of children, not suitable for under 7s because of the open pool. Easy flat villa for the elderly or infirm, 2 steps down into annexe. Small step onto terrace. The bathrooms are spacious but not equipped for wheelchair users. Good Bosch washing machine,pool towels,outside dining facilities.

Really comfortable & spacious with good sized pool

We loved our stay here. From here it was easy to visit nearby picturesque hillside villages, small towns such as Uzes (a gem) or even the cities of Nimes & Avignon and the Camargue beyond. The accommodation itself was extremely comfortable and well equipped and the garden & pool area both a very good size for relaxing in privacy. All made for a really great holiday. We hope to return another year to explore even more of this fascinating area of France.

Beautiful, welcoming villa in a peaceful location

We had a lovely week in Villa des Oliviers. The villa was much more spacious than we had anticipated and perfect for our family of 5. Both the villa and the swimming pool were spotlessly clean and the garden has plenty of shade, which was very welcome as it was such a hot week. There is so much to see in the local area, but we were loathed to leave the sanctuary of our home from home. We did visit the amphitheatre in Nimes and the spectacular Pont du Gard and there are any spots to go river-swimming nearby if you fancy a change from the pool. Wendy's communication with us was excellent at all times and you can tell that this is a family home which the owners enjoy sharing with others. The villa is very well-equipped and well-maintained and the shutters and air-conditioning unit meant that we were a very comfortable temperature indoors, despite temperatures in the high 30s. We would certainly recommend this property to others.

Beautiful secluded villa in great area

I had a wonderful week here. The property is clean, spacious and comfortable. It is secluded so you are not overlooked in the swimming pool which is surrounded by lovely olive trees, plants and patio. It is near St Quentin la Poterie with a market and quirky restaurants. Uzes, Nimes and Avignon are all worth seeing and have different things to offer. Wonderful towers, old buildings, market, scenery , famous bridges etc. I also went on local walks near the property in the quiet countryside.. I would definitely recommend this property. Customer service was good with owner easy to contact if I needed any information. Excellent holiday.

very good for a relaxing holiday

We stayed for the 3rd time so that tells you something about this villa! Having originally stayed with our children in 2011 we have been back since twice on our own!

the villa is comfortable well set up for a family holiday and this year the air con was a real bonus and despite daytime temps reaching 37 and night time temps being in the mid 20's we had a comfortable nights sleep!

There are no drawbacks with this villa the pool is great and the house is well set up with everything you need.

We love this area and the village of Saint Quentin is great with all local shops and a good small market on Friday but the most important thing is being close to Uzes which is a lovely town and has a great square to have a drink and do some people watching as well as a large Saturday market.

finally would i book again? simple answer Yes!

Amazingly peaceful and relaxing

We had a lovely peaceful time here, strolling around all the old villages and especially Uzes. I loved the picturesque unspoilt countryside with so many olive groves and vineyards, it reminded me of the wilder parts of Brazil where I come from.

The villa is spacious and comfortable with everything you need, a haven to come back to after a day out. It was lovely to sit on the terrace with a drink in the warm autumn sunshine.

We hope to go back next year.

Lovely villa in our favourite bit of France!

We had a fabulous week here in September 2013. The villa is bright, clean, spacious and really well laid out. With 4 adults staying, the annexe off the main living area is ideal for giving everyone their own space.

The gardens and pool are wonderful and completely private and it is tempting to just lie around doing nothing but reading, eating, sampling the local wine and enjoying the peace and quiet, but there is so much to see and do in this lovely part of France. We found the villa to be perfectly placed for exploring the area without having to spend hours in the car and great to be able to just pop up the road into St Quentin la Poterie (bikes are supplied!). We've been visiting the beautiful town of Uzes and its surroundings for many years now and a few highlights for us are, kayaking from Collias down to the Pont du Gard, getting a taste of Roman heritage in Nimes, strolling round the lovely town of Sommieres and a trip to la Roque sur Ceze and the spectacular Sautadet waterfalls. This year we ventured down to the coast for the first time and enjoyed browsing around Aigues Mortes, even spotting some of the famous flamingoes! A visit to the excellent Saturday market in Uzes is a must, even though it is always heaving!

The owners, who are friendly, helpful and efficient, provide information in the villa for many more things to see and do.

This was our second stay at the villa and I would recommend it highly. We have already booked our third visit for 2014!

This is a lovely unspoilt rural area of rolling hills , perched villages and vineyards.St Quentin la Poterie, 2km, a typical medieval hilltop village with weekly market and all basic shops including an excellent small supermarket with deli + freshly cooked dishes!

Uzes, 6km is oneof the most beautiful unspoilt French towns dating form Roman times with medieval streets, old cobbles and a huge weekly market on Saturday,antiques on Sunday. it is also known for its art, theatre and festivals.

The Pont du Gard, Avignon ,Arles, Nimes, Orange, the Camargue + beaches and the Cevennes are all within easy reach. The whole region is rich in history and art with many lovely old towns and ancient villages to explore.
