This attractive apartment built in traditional style has recently (October 2015) been renovated to a high standard. The recent improvements include:

* New fitted kitchen with Bosch oven, induction hob and solid beech worktops.

* New beds, mattresses and carpets in all 3 bedrooms.

* New sofas, arm-chair and coffee table in lounge area.

* New solid oak 8-seater dining table.

The apartment has sloping eaves in the bedrooms sleeps 6 comfortably, and 7 if using the sofa in the lounge or the additional single bed in Bedroom 1. There's a good size, well-appointed, lounge area with two sofas, arm-chair, flat screen TV, DVD, Bluetooth speaker, fast free wi-fi and a coffee table.

The apartment is 450m walk to the ski lifts and less to a bakery, mini supermarket, restaurant & bars. The main village is 15 minutes' walk along a lovely river path.

Les Contamines is a fantastic skiing and boarding area in the foothills of Mont Blanc. It has 120km of pistes from nursery slopes to challenging blacks and a vast expanse of accessible off-piste. We've been coming for years and are still discovering more. There's also a great board park.

The price quoted includes bedding (beds will be made up for your arrival), towels, cleaning etc. There are no additional charges.

We're happy to help with recommendations for ski-hire, lessons, restaurants, etc so please ask.

About the Owner

I'm an environmental consultant living in Sussex.

I was introduced to Les Contamines by a French friend in 1999 (10 of us in her grandmother's one-bed flat wasn't ideal, but at least the grandmother wasn't there) I loved both the skiing and the village so in 2004 I bought this apartment. I had no kids in those days and I work freelance, so for the next five years I spent much of the wintertime there.

We've now got two young boys and a baby so life's a little different but Contamines also works really well for us as a family, especially in the summer. We've been there the last four summers and have had a couple of great family ski holidays in late March / early April when the snow's still good but the weather's more kid-friendly

We are just back from our week in the Alps. We went to Les Contamines, staying in a very nice apartment, for a very reasonable price. Had everything we needed inc wifi, washing machine, oven, microwave and a beer fridge.

This was our first family summer visit to the Alps. Once we arrived some friends had already discovered we could buy a family pass for 90€ for one week. This allowed each of us:

Free access to the following activities.

• Pontet Swimming Lake (unlimited access)

• Mont-Blanc Evasion alpine lifts** (unlimited access) - inc Megeve and Saint Gervais lifts

• Tennis court hire ( 1 hr)

• Archery (1 hour)

• Golf (a bucket of 50 balls)

• Summer biathlon (an hourly session).

Wonderful apartment in an ideal location - perfect for a fantastic holiday in the mountains

Before we'd even arrived at the apartment, the drive up from Geneva was incredible with amazing views of Mt Blanc and the surrounding area. Directions to the apartment were spot on, it was easy to find, and has its own allocated parking space so no parking issues.

The apartment had everything needed for a perfect family holiday, lovely kitchen, plenty of space to spread out including a balcony to sit out on in the evening. Comfy beds and sofas. It felt really homely and we settled in straight away. Everything you could possibly need was there (including decent WiFi), and the apartment was clean, tidy, and a pleasure to stay in. The apartment had a drawer full of useful leaflets, maps, booklets, and plenty of ideas for what to do each day.

The surrounding area in this part of the Alps is breathtaking, there was so much to do. Incredible views wherever you go, loads of walking to suit every level of keenness... lakes to swim in... all sorts of activities are within a short drive from Les Contamines.

The village centre itself is nice, a short (and very scenic) walk away, with a choice of shops/restaurants, you can find whatever you need there.

We genuinely couldn't have asked for more, we had an incredible time and the apartment was a pleasure to come back to every evening.

Spacious flat - fantastic location

The flat was great - much bigger than flats we have stayed in previously. Having 3 separate bedrooms was a real luxury, and as a party of 5 there were lovely comfy sofas and a table that could seat 7 , and a really well equipped kitchen. Great location only a few minutes walk from the ski lift and we used starshipper to get back to Geneva airport which was efficient and relatively good value. Would recommend Bar Saxo as a great place to go for a drink in the evening, and the bakers and supermarket in Les Hameaux du Lay kept us in provisions for the week. We were fortunate to have great snow and sun so very lucky and Les Contamines is a gem for those who want great skiing but little or no queuing. Bob was very helpful and a mine of local information. Would not hesitate to recommend both the flat and the resort.

Great apartment

We've had a fantastic week in Les Contamines, the apartment is very well equipped and comfortable and Bob the owner was very helpful. The skiing is fantastic and we were very lucky with the weather. Bob recommended Intersport for our ski hire who were very helpful and we were able to store our ski's and the boots in the shop which is conveniently very close to the lifts. He also recommended Philippe a fantastic guide/ instructor who is full of local knowledge and great fun! We didn't hire a car and came by taxi and although it was lovely to be met at the airport, we found the walk into town to the supermarket and restaurants quite exhausting and so would probably hire a car next time. But all in all a fabulous weeks skiiing.

Great apartment just a short stroll along the river from the centre of town. Very helpful to have an underground garage when it snows all week! Reserved outside parking as well. Well cared for and recently renovated / decorated. Would not hesitate to recommend it,

A couple of weeks in Conta

A great apartment with 2 bedrooms and a Mezzanine with another double bed, easily sleeps 6 comfortably.

Kitchen is much better equipped than your average alpine apartment, having plenty of utensils to cook big meals.

Lounge and living space is a nice size with 2 comfortable sofas leading out on to a balcony.

Close to the lifts within a 5 minute walk.

This is a great apartment and would definitely go back.

I bought in Les Contamines because of the fantastic skiing and boarding, especially the large amount of accessible off-piste which is great fun and challenging but relatively safe as it's within the ski domain. I also loved the town itself - charming and unspoiled but big enough to have plenty of restaurants and a few bars.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Geneva at 76 Kilometres Nearest Train : St Gervais Les Baines Le Fayet at 10 Kilometres


In summer there's a swimming lake with a beach with beautiful mountain & forest views that's a 10-15 minutes walk away. The lake has life-guards and sections of shallow depth making it ideal for small children to play.


1 hour 15 minutes' drive from Geneva airport.

20 minutes' drive from Le Fayet mainline train station (trains to Paris).

8 hour drive to Calais.


25 minutes drive to Chamonix or to Megeve and 7 miles as the crow (eagle?) flies to the summit of Mont Blanc. 5 minute walk to shops including a mini-supermarket that does great homemade take-away food, a bakery, ski and board hire centres, bars and restaurants. In summer only 15 mins walk to tennis, golf driving range, extensive rock climbing, swimming lake and adventure area.

Further Details:

Les Contamines has many restaurants, bars and shops and a bank with a cash point.

Summer activities include walking, hiking, mountain-biking (bike rental in village), and rock-climbing, (at La Duchere - 15 minutes' walk away). There's also a golf driving range and 7 tennis courts, with courses and lessons available.

However if we manage to re-let a week that you cancel, then we will refund you either what you paid or, if we've re-let the week at a discount for being short-notice, what the new booking has paid.

We spend a lot of time here as a family so have recently renovated the apartment to higher level than you'd normally expect in a ski apartment e.g. solid oak dining table, new oven and induction hob, new carpets, beds & mattresses in all 3 bedrooms even though the previous ones were OK. The kitchen is well-equipped including with a range of herbs and spices etc so it's great place to cook up some good food - or order a homemade ready meal from the nearby shop - and have an evening eating and drinking in.
