Villa with Pool in Nadadouro, Silver Coast, Portugal - Peaceful Location, 10 Mins Drive to Beach

Spacious semi-detached villa with private safety gated pool, under an hour from Lisbon airport. Nearest major town of Caldas da Rainha is 5 mins drive with its bustling shops and markets. The spectacular beach and lagoon of Foz is 7 mins drive, offering excellent access to water sports, either in the tempestuous Atlantic for surfing/boogie-boarding, or in the Obidos lagoon, which offers a calm and shallow alternative, perfect for bathing, canoeing, windsurfing, and even kite-surfing at the nearby club, daily lessons for children/adults are available at competitive prices. The medieval walled town of Obidos is 15 mins drive, and a delight to visit with its cobbled streets, interesting shops and wall walk (for the brave). Also worth a visit is Peniche, a beautiful fishing village with fantastic fish restaurants. Nazare, go up the funicular railway and be amazed by the views. San Martinho boasts a stunning sheltered beach. Golfers have a choice of 5 superb courses, all within easy reach.

About Lesley Murray

We bought our beautiful Villa eleven years ago, and, at the time, had no intention of renting, however because its such a lovely area, and we wanted to share with others, we decided to rent - this has been a success, we have never had any issues - and always received glowing reports. The house is a home from home, we leave essentials there for people to use, and they always replace the things they have used. I plan to spend a little more time in the house early next year, as unfortunately my husband passed away in December 2016 - and I feel I want to go and chill for a few months, I am still renting the house for the rest of the year, and have not changed the picture as above showing my family because it was Ians home too.

Why Lesley Murray chose Nadadouro

We purchased as our retirement home in 2-3 years time but due to health reasons this has been put on hold for time being. We love the villa & we try to go there as much as we can as it is total relaxation & can get on the bikes & be out all day stopping for odd beer & food. The villa is very central to lots of places, we often cycled to Obidos through the fruit orchards which are in abundance around this area.

What makes this villa unique

The location is quiet & has all the amenities just to relax & enjoy although there are many places to visit (cultural & touristy place) If you want to stay in a holiday area which is buzzing with people and noise - the villa is not for you !!!! we have furnished the house with upmarket items, as it was not our intention to rent out, the cupboards and drawers have all the things you need, people use them and replace, which has worked well in the past. There are hundreds of books for you to read - or just swim in the private pool - which is cleaned once a week, and has a solar cover to keep the water a bit warmer.

Notes on accommodation: Suitable for all ages, young children will need supervision around the pool, although from the kitchen there is a gate that separates the pool from the BBQ/patio area, and we cannot be held responsible for accidents, as every care has been taken to minimise risk.3 bikes, suitable for older children 10 +, together with plenty of sun loungers. The BBQ is large, and has a sink, and preparation area, young children will need supervising during use. Large table, plus chairs are adjacent to the barbeque area - wall lights. Also within the patio area is a stone table and benches. There are many DVDs - ranging from U to 18's - parents are responsible for viewing. Telephone (local calls only) broadband & cable tv - printer (boarding card) L/top to be replaced Outside: The private swimming pool is 8.5m x 4.5m and is cleaned once a week during mid and high season. Barbeque is large with sink and preparation area. The pool has LCD lights around its edge, the pool (with solar cover for improving water temperature) and patio area have spotlighting, the pool is cleaned once a week, and we ask that you use the pool responsibly.Large moveable parasol and plenty of loungers, pebbled front garden - walled and secure parking outside, or inside of property. The pool can be secured from the kitchen - it has a fence and gate for the safety of young people. Utility Room: Washing machine, dryer, ironing board with iron, cleaning equipment, i.e. mops, brushes dustpans etc. vaccum system for the whole house (hose which attaches to sockets on each floor). There is also a microwaveable baby steralising unit and bottle brush. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included (but please bring your own towels for the beach and next to the pool). The villa (including the towels and linen) is cleaned at the beginning and end of your stay. Further maid services can be arranged on request, cost extra. Other: Dining room with table and chairs to seat 6, sideboard with own crockery, wine glasses and utensils. Attic room is off the first bedroom, and has its own flight of stairs, TV, separate sleeping areas curtained off, escape ladder is also situated here

well equipped, very central situated villa

In this villa you are very close to the beaches, but you are also close to the important cities in central Portugal. The house is very well equipped. Everything you need during the stay is available. Due to the cover on the swimming pool the temperature of the water stays at a comfortable value.

Special interest holidays:

Excellent facilities for people who are interested in water sports (courses are available, at very competitive rates) bird watching, fishing and walking. There are many historical areas in and around Nadadouro.


Obidos Lagoon is within 10 minutes drive, as is Foz do Arelho, with its stunning extensive beaches, the sea is ideal for surfing, as it can get quite rough, however for a relaxing sunbathe, and for youngsters, the adjacent lagoon is an ideal alternative. Cycling to the beach is approx 25 minutes - there is a walled cycle path within 5 mins of the house. For further pictures and information - google Foz do Arelho for stunning pictures.


The villa is 50 mins from Lisbon airport. You can catch a coach, which takes 1 hour, and costs approx 20 euros each. 2½ hours from Oporto. There is a good bus service from Foz to Caldas, (you can cycle in 15 minutes, or walk for half hour). There is also a regular train service from Caldas do Rainha to Lisbon.


There is so much to see and do within the local area, the historic capital Lisbon is within an hours drive, Sintra with its cobbled streets, and Cascais with its gentile seaside atmosphere are perfect for day visits, as is the renowned shrine at Fatima, and as previously mentioned Nazare, San Martinho, Alcobaca, and Obidos.

Further Details:

Supermarkets are abundant within Caldas do Rainha, (these include Aldi and Lidl) the nearest being 5 minutes drive, the local garage is a 3 minute drive, and their are two restaurants within walking distance, also within walking distance - two cafe's. The leisure activities are in Foz, nearest bank is also in Foz.

Booking Notes:
A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% is payable. The balance is payable a minimum of 8 weeks before arrival together with a security deposit of £200 which is refundable within 1 week of departure. Should the arrival date be within 8 weeks of booking, then full payment, plus the deposit, should accompany the booking form. It is a non-smoking property and no pets are allowed. Please note that we advertise the house with three bedrooms, however the attic has a bed settee and 2 dbl. blow up beds.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is our preferred changeover day unless by specific arrangement. Arrival after 4pm and departure before 10am. Other arrival and departure times are possible subject to confirmation please enquire.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds and based on 6 persons - should there be additional persons please contact owners for any additional costs that maybe applicable. Payment can be accepted in Euro (will be based on exchange rate at the time of full payment). Payment by credit card is acceptable through Paypal at a 4% surcharge. Please contact owner for late availability and short term rentals.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
